Chapter 2 - Getting Ready

Adam loaded into the game after the white light disappeared. He saw a lot of people, ranging from beginners to high level players. He was then greeted by a system message.

[Would you like to do the tutorial]

[Yes] [No]

He pressed no as he was already a veteran of this game.

"System show me my status"

[Player Anomaly's Stats]

[Level 1] [Exp: 1/100]

[Strength: 1]

[Endurance: 1]

[Intelligence: 1]

[Agility]

These were the 4 main character stats, the rest are given from buffs, effects, or from equipment.

'Right now I need to get to level 5 so I can start the quest for 'Void Regent'. The 'Void Regent' class was different from the others. You couldn't get a sub class nor would it be upgraded, because of this downside you get better passives and abilities. For example:

Knight------>Paladin

Knight------>Bruiser

You get the idea, these were called 'class upgrades' or certain class rewards for completing a quest like the Paladin. Now to get 'Void Regent', you can't choose a class, you would normally get to choose a class when you begin. However Adam needed to get this secret class so he didn't choose one.

'Let's get to level 5 before we go to him,' thought Adam. He ran to the level 7-15 area to get his level up to 5. He ran to a area where not many people would farm, he didn't want to many eyes on him. He kept walking deeper into the forest until there was barely any sunlight breaching through the trees. He saw the mob he wanted to grind after a turning around the corner.

[Big Boar] [Level 7] [Mini-Boss] [80 hp]

He also saw 2 players who were level 5 trying to kill it, however they were obviously inexperienced and didn't have much teamwork.

"He's CHARGING up, BAIT FOR ME," said the guy who aggroed it.

"Why SHOULD I bait for you, you're obviously going to die. Let me kill him, he's half hp and then we can share the loot," The other guy responded.

"You won't be able to kill him, you're so bad at fighting," the other criticized.

They kept arguing until they heard the grunt sound meaning the boar had finished charging up. They're sync rate were also really bad so the guy couldn't dodge and he died. The other guy soon followed due to him getting to close. The boar went back to where he was and his hp resetted, you can't kill steal as this was basically treated as a boss. The 2 partied up and they lost so its hp was reset for the next party.

Looking at his stats before and with the sword he was given upon joining he would deal a maximum of 2 damage..but critical hits doubles that amount. He just needed to land his slashes on the boar's weak spot, luck for him he knew the boar's weak spot was its eyeball. They get rather angry when they are stabbed in the eye, he didn't have any effects so he could only stun them for the normal 3 seconds. This was enough, he just needed to time the attack patterns.

He ran up to the boar and slashed its body

[2 damage dealt]

He aggroed the boar, the boar's first attack when getting hit was to charge and launch itself at the target. However this can be easily countered by hitting their eyeballs, this is what Adam did. Before the boar could finish charging up, he got a easy hit and stabbed the boar's eyeball.

The boar squealed and was stunned for 0.8 seconds, Adam used this moment to deal as much damage on it as possible. Once his stun was over, he stabbed the other eyeball and repeatedly slashed it. There was a limited amount of 'weak' spots on enemies, the boar had 2 since he only had 2 eyes. Adam looked at the boar's hp again to see how much damage he dealt.

[Damage Dealt: 24] {A/N: I didn't want to be a filler/lazy so I just wrote the total dmg)

Adam sighed, he felt bad for the casual solo players who had to deal with this stuff, but he was killing a boss 6 levels higher than himself. The boar was once again planning its charge attack so Adam this time used the environment. He was planning to get its tusk stuck, he ran behind a rock and the boar who had the braincell count of -10 got its tusk stuck deep into the rock. Adam used this time to continuously slash the boar before it pulled itself out. Critical hits can also be luck based and not always on 'weak spots'.

Adam checked the boar's hp after it seemed like the boar was going to pull itself out.

[Big Boar] [HP: 16]

The boar finally pulled itself out with a grunt but he launched himself at a tree and stunned himself again...

'Free damage I guess,' thought Adam as he rushed and slashed at the boar again.

The boar squealed as he died and vanished into the air. Adam looked at the rewards he got from slaying a miniboss so early into the game.

[Achievement Unlocked]

[Title Unlocked]

[No Pain, No Gain: Slay a boss/miniboss 5 levels below it]

[Level Up] [All Stats Up 1]

[Level Up] [All Stats Up 1]

[Level Up] [All Stats Up 1]

[Gear]

[Sturdy Club: I wonder what age we're in..]

[Bone Armor: *Growl*]

[Boar Hide x7]

[Boar Meat x 4]

[Boar's Bones x 5]

Adam looked at what he got and thought, 'Not bad, not bad at all'

"System show me my stats and also show me my sync rate"

[Sync Rate: 91%]

[Estimated Boost: 97%]

[Player Anomaly's Stats]

[Strength: 4]

[Endurance: 4]

[Intelligence: 4]

[Agility: 4]

[Stat Points: 9]

Adam wanted to hold onto the free stat points for later requirements. He also checked the title he got from slaying a enemy 5 levels below it.

[No Pain, No Gain]

[A title made for risking your life]

[Critcial Power: 5%

[All stats +3]

This title was good, especially in the beginning and for Adam's solo play. Next he checked the armor and weapon.

[Sturdy Club]

[Strength +3]

[Endurance +1]

[Agility -1]

[Effect when getting a critical hit: Stun for a extra 0.3 seconds]

---------------------------------------------

[Bone Armor: Specifically made for cavemen]

[Endurance +3]

[Agility -1]

[Critical Chance +1]

'The armor and weapon are good for dealing damage..however the minus 2 agility is a minor drawback. Good thing i have the title so we're good for now,' Adam thought.

"System open inventory," Adam said. He couldn't be seen with this ridiculous equipment, he went to equip the items and he added some vanity. The club would show up as the same sword and the armor would show up as his normal black clothing. If people looked at his profile, they'd notice it was this equipment.

'I'm going to fight the main boss of this area, I have enough stats for him. If I don't, I can just add the extra stats I got,' Adam thought. He ran to the area where he boss would spawn.
