Chapter 41

A Friend in Deeds

This is another Fateful day in Okutanla Maximum Prison. A warder came to the prison room with a note in his hands.

"Adrian Adebayo, Adrian…’’ the Wader called out, his eyes darting around the room, "you’re having a visitor. Come and attend to him now!''

Adrian rushed up from the plate of dried garri or local cassava flakes mixed with watery beans which he was having as lunch. He had thought and though about the kind of meals they served in the prison and had gotten fed up. Sometimes, they would be served garri that’s full of sands, and Egusi soup which tasted like a sour palm-wine. Many times, the beans they’ll be served would contain a lot of pebbles, to the extent that someone would think they have deliberately mixed it with pebbles before or after cooking to make it sufficient.
