A Fighting Father
Adrian rooted to his spot after Richard had left him a moment past. He was unable to move from the reception. Another warder came from his behind, drew his arms and led him away, staggering. He was shaking his head in self-pity, thinking how lucky Richard was to have influential parents who rescued him from the jaws of the law, though they were charged with the same offence. For the first time in his life, he wished he had a better father than Adebayo. He wished he has a father who is an educated and influential doctor like Richard’s, and not a poor farmer. But he soon reprimanded himself for wishing for a better father. Adebayo, though not rich or very educated, had done a lot for him as a father. He is the kind of a father who could go extra miles to care and protect his family. He remembered how his father had saved him from the hands of the Prisoner’s president, Odion.
