chapter 39 Eventful(2)

Skydiving, golfing, bowling, mug painting. she even learnt how to shoot guns. compared to the other activities, she learnt to shoot terrifyingly fast.

she had such a great time and she wished the day wouldn't end but sadly it did. it was already past midnight and Lucas insisted on sending her home first and since Grace's car was used for transportation and Lucas's car was still parked at her company's garage, he had to use her car for the night and would return it the next day. she couldn't care what happens to her car even if she tried. it was just another excuse to see him again.

after appreciating each other for the wonderful day they both had, they said their goodbyes and went their separate ways. Grace headed to penthouse apartment feeling giddy. her smile never leaving her face even after she fell asleep.

the next day, Grace spent half her time working and the other half checking if Lucas has come for his car.

she was trying to focus on reviewing the report sent to her from one of Tang Inc's branches, when she heard two familiar voices.

"lookie who we have here"

"someone had an eventful day yesterday"

Grace could recognize those annoying voices anywhere. Maya and Anna.

"I miss the time when you had a job" she spat at Anna with no heat at all. she faced Maya "I miss when you were abroad studying"

they both gasp dramatically.

"I miss the time you were nice and kind to people especially your friends. oh wait. there was never such a time" Maya clapped back

"why are both of you here? at the same time?" Grace huffed

"I texted Maya. to help me interrogate you on your date with Lucas since you won't tell us yourself"

Grace raise a questioning eyebrow at Anna. "how did you find out about yesterday?"

"sweet naïve Grace, I have my ways" Anna gloated

'maybe Ethan told her, Lucas and Ethan are best friends after all'

"it's all over social media" Maya shrugged

"huh?" Grace was dumbfounded when Maya showed her pictures of Lucas and herself together on the golf course. the first picture was taken when Lucas was teaching her how to golf, his hands over hers, their positioning looked compromising. other pictures were taken of them hugging just after she scored. she was smiling brightly and and so was he.

'we look dreamy in these picture' Grace sighed softly

"looks like the gentleman took the fair maiden to the golf fields" Anna cooed

"what else happened between you two? all alone. together." Maya asked suggestively.

"first, we went sky diving and then golfing and bowling and mug painting and shooting" Grace gushed in one breath.

both Maya and Anna let out the stereotypical girly shriek of joy

"so oo" Anna teased "when is the second date?"

"we didn't really go on a date. it was more of a spontaneous... uhm arrangement"

"uhm hmm, a beautifully romantic 'spontaneous arrangement'." Anna insisted.

"please tell me there is a second 'arrangement'." Maya asked hopefully

Grace sighed "I don't know. he is supposed to return my car today but I haven't seen him yet."

"cheer up Gracey, it's only a little past two o'clock. I'm sure he is just busy."

"he is a busy billionaire. besides, he left all his work yesterday to be with someone." Anna said suggestively

"first of all, Never, call me 'Gracey' again. second. you better not get my hopes up for nothing or else."

"uuuhh, Gracey is feisty" the two women cooed together. making Grace to scowl at them.

"you guys are so annoying" Grace grumbled.

"but you love me so so soo much" Maya teased

Grace ignored the two ladies and went back to work. as much as she would love to let loose and gossip with her friends, she had a ton of work to do.

Tang Inc is a collection of industries and other investments and although a group of worthy individuals help manage different sectors of the company, it is still Grace's job. not to me the fact that Grace is solely responsible for the management of the mother company which is -Tang Constructions.

'maybe Anna is right, Lin Group Of Companies is significantly larger than Tang inc. that means his work load must be greater.'

it was almost quitting time yet Lucas hasn't shown up. Maya and Anna had already left awhile ago leaving her alone to wait for crush. it was so frustrating. still she didn't want to leave earlier than standard time. just in case.

every time, every single time she had a small shimmer of hope to be with her crush, her hopes always gets crushed.

she has had enough. she is going to move on from Lucas. for real this time. she would no longer feel giddy in his presence. no more butterflies. Lucas is going to be just like everyone else to her. starting now.

she had so much conviction and determination until she saw Lucas talking to Luna by her desk. looking like an artistic masterpiece. Lucas notice her almost immediately.

'oh holy mother of hot, hot men' Grace gushed internally

"Hey" he greeted with his deep yet silky voice.

was she giddy?.... yep

any butterflies?.... totally

was Lucas like every other person?.... nope
