Doyle's Warning

However, the next second, she wondered why he had come back at this moment. . . Did that stupid little girl actually tell on her?

Daphne walked over to him, asking a little anxiously, "Where have you been?"

Lucifer seemed to have noticed something as he raised one eyebrow, "I was doing work."

"Did you finish. . ." Daphne tried hinting at why he had come back. Was it because of Calindra Black?

Lucifer closed the door, turning towards Daphne a little confusedly, "Yes. Have you been good this time while I was gone?"

Daphne could not tell if this question was meant to test her. Did he know already? If he did and she said no, then he would know she was lying. But what if he didn't know. Then if she said yes, he would question her of why.

"No. . ." Daphne muttered, eyeing him cautiously. Hearing this, he merely nodded and walked away, entering the restroom. Seeing that he did not question her further, Daphne let out a breath of relief, hoping that Calindra did not end up being petty and telling on her.

--- A few minutes ago

Calindra left the room angrily, stomping down the hallway. Seeing her mad, all the maids that walked past didn't even dare to look up, in fear of being the victim of her horrible temper.

She looked around, wondering where brother Lucifer was. He had to go tell him about that disgusting woman's words and actions!

She turned a corner, thinking that he might be in father's office, but as she did so, she suddenly bumped into a person. Her head hit his hard chest and she fell back slightly, holding onto her forehead as her eyebrows snapped together, "You -"

Just as she was about to scream at whoever it was, she looked up, her eyes widening when she saw her brother, Doyle Black.

Doyle looked down at his little sister, frowning as his unhappy incident with Lucifer Black earlier was not too long ago, "What are you doing here?"

He looked around. The only thing nearby would be his father's office. Why was Calindra walking around here?

Calindra was about to tell her brother that she was going to find her big brother, but just as the words were about to leave her mouth, she remembered that her only full biological brother did not like her big brother, Lucifer.

He had gotten furious with her several times before when she had spoken to him about Lucifer or complimented Lucifer in front of him.

Calindra gulped, swallowing her words but she could not just leave like this. Instead, she pursed her lips out and complained, "Doyle, you know that disgusting girl from the Brothel Lucifer brought back?!"

Doyle's expression changed slightly when he heard this, but Calindra did not notice as she continued, "She is so annoying! She bullied me and was threatening my position in this family even though she is an outsider. And, she -"

Doyle's expression worsened as Calindra continued to talk and he finally cut her off, asking, "Did you go meet that girl?"

Calindra was slightly shocked to be cut off, and she finally noticed the difference in Doyle Black's expression. However, she did not know why he appeared to look so mad as she slowly responded, "Yes. . . I just did."

Hearing this, Doyle's face darkened as he stepped forward closer to Calindra, his eyes narrowing scarily as he ordered, "Do not go look for her or go talk to her anymore, understand?"

Calindra was very taken aback by her brother's sudden reaction, and she did not know why he was like this. However, it made her upset, "Why?!"

Why did he say it as if she was the one at fault?! It was that stupid girl's fault! Shouldn't his brother be standing on her side right now? Why couldn't she go and look for that disgusting girl? This was her house!

Calindra straightened her back, but seeing her attitude come up again, Doyle did not support her or comfort her, but instead, he got even more angry, lifting one finger up warningly.

"Do you not want to listen to me?!" His voice was cold as he spoke, "I am warning you, stay away from Lucifer Black and that girl!"

Calindra fell back, surprised and angry at Doyle for scolding her. She did not understand why and she wanted to fight back, but before she could, Doyle whipped around, marching away and out of the hallway.

Calindra watched him leave, clenching her fists together as her teeth shook from frustration. That brothel girl had just come for one day and she was already creating a mess! Her day had also been ruined because of that girl.

Calindra's eyes reddened as she wanted to go find her father to talk about it, but thinking twice about it, after talking to both her brothers, perhaps her father would not be of much help either.

With nowhere else to complain, Calindra turned around and decided to go find her mother, who was the only one who saw how disgusting and evil that brothel girl was!

---

Lucifer had just settled down in the room when there was a knock at the door again and the butler peeked his head in through the door, "Young master Lucifer, Master Black wants you to go and escort the Lord out of the manor."

Lucifer tugged at his tie, frowning, "Are all the maids dead or what?"

The butler looked down at the ground, not saying anything.

Lucifer turned to look at her, who looked away innocently. This time, Lucifer did not command her anything before leaving as he walked out of the door, shutting the door behind him.

After he had gone, Daphne waited for a few seconds in case he suddenly came back before walking over to the door, her heartbeat quickening as she placed her hand on the door handle.

She pressed it down slowly, making no noise as she pulled it. At once, the brighter light from the hallway spilled into the room as the door opened.

Daphne's eyes glistened as a smile crept up her face. He had forgotten to lock the door!
