The Restaurant (1)

Lucifer was not keen on talking about Daphne with these other devils any further, and he pulled out the invitation, placing it onto the glass table, "Here is the invitation for the next Sevil meeting."

Hudo Smith grabbed onto the card, flipping it open to take a look at it.

"There will also be an evening party after the meeting as it is the last meeting before winter arrives," Lucifer added.

"Good, good, I will certainly be there," Hudo Smith said with a smile, closing the invitation as he stood up.

"Lucifer, I still have some work to finish, so I should get going."

Lucifer also stood up, nodding his head as the Smith family's master left the room. After he had left, Hades Smith leaned back against the couch, looking much more relaxed.

"Lucifer, now that my father has left, why don't you introduce this girl to me again," Hades asked, his eyes landing on Daphne once more.

Lucifer sat back down, his face darkening as he reached for his glass of water, "There is no need for me to say anything else. Hades Smith, you should know very well how much I hate it when other people meddle in my belongings."

Hades Smith raised one eyebrow, his eyes moving to Lucifer and then quickly away as he took a sip of water as well. He was surprised to see how serious Lucifer was, as he had not expected for him to be so protective over a woman. . .

Was he being serious this time?

"What family is she from?" He asked, not looking at Daphne any more as if she was nonexistent.

Lucifer scowled, upset that Hades Smith was still asking about his person, "I got her from the Brothel. If you are interested, you can go and find someone yourself," he warned.

Hades could not hide his surprise and shock as he wanted to look at her again but was too scared to do so. The Brothel?! The young master of the Black family brought a girl from the Brothel home? She was certainly very attractive, different than the other girls he had seen in Healeh.

However. . .

"Will you be attending the Sevil meeting too now?" Lucifer asked, bringing the topic away from Daphne.

Hades nodded proudly at this topic, "Yes, father is letting me attend this time."

Lucifer scoffed, swinging the cup around in his hand, "About time."

Then, Lucifer stood up, and Daphne stood up right away after him, looking down at her fingers.

"I'll get going now. I still have to go to the other six villes and it's getting late." Daphne watched as Lucifer grabbed onto her wrist once more, turning around and walking out of the room.

Hades Smith followed from behind, his eyes moving from Lucifer Black to the girl. Now this was indeed a rare sight. . .

They walked out of the Smith manor, and Lucifer seemed to know the place very well as he easily found the front door. The rain in Saltsville had stopped but the sky was still dark and gloomy.

When they walked out, Hades stopped at the door, seeing them off as Lucifer walked over to the carriage, stepping aside so Daphne could get on first.

Seeing this, Hades couldn't help but raise one eyebrow in confusion. A carriage?

What was going on with Lucifer Black recently? Was this the same person?

Lucifer Black always used teleportation whenever he could to get to places, especially far places like this, as he despised wasting time.

Especially since it was raining today, why was he going by carriage?

No one was there to answer his questions as Lucifer entered the carriage after Daphne without looking back, and before long, the carriage had left the Smith manor, going to its next destination.

---

Inside the carriage, Lucifer continued to have his eyes on Daphne, who purposefully looked away. He narrowed his eyes on her outfit. . . Was that really not ugly enough? Indeed, even when he looked at it, she did not seem ugly in any way.

The carriage continued to move along, entering a shaky road. As she sat there, the hunger was beginning to get to her. She had eaten bread, but it was definitely not enough to satisfy her hunger.

She had not eaten a full meal in a very long time, and -

The sound of her stomach expressing its complaints could be heard very clearly in the silent carriage, and even the sound of the horses running could not cover it.

Daphne's face flushed red with embarrassment as she looked away, but Lucifer's eyes were already glued onto her. She gulped, praying that her stomach would not misbehave anymore, but of course it would not listen.

The grumbling noise was so loud that Daphne could not go on pretending it was not her anymore. She cleared her throat, muttering, "I'm hungry."

Lucifer raised one eyebrow.

Seeing this, Daphne pursed her lips out, complaining, "You were the one who didn't let me eat lunch."

Hearing her grumble underneath her breath, Lucifer grinned softly, leaning forward as he pushed the carriage door open slightly, "Go to the nearest restaurant nearby."

"Yes, Master Lucifer," the coachman said as he turned the carriage around, starting to go down another path.

Daphne placed her hands onto her stomach, looking away as she scrunched her face up in utter embarrassment. Luckily, her stomach did not make too much noise the rest of the ride, but each time it did, Daphne found it hard to not notice the snicker on Lucifer's face.

It seemed like forever until the carriage finally arrived, and Daphne could already hear voices and people walking around outside. They had finally entered a place in Healeh where people gathered.

The coachman opened the door and Lucifer stepped out first before Daphne followed him out. A slight drizzle had started again, and Lucifer held his black umbrella, standing in the middle of the road.

Daphne straightened her back, jumping off the carriage as there was no stool. However, she did not notice the mud puddle on the ground, and when she landed, it created a huge splash as the mud dirtied her legs and Lucifer's pants!

But that was not the worst, as she lost her balance in the puddle, falling forward and straight into Lucifer's chest! He was holding the umbrella, and he quickly reacted, reaching his other hand out and grabbing onto her.

"Ah!" She kicked up some more mud as she tried to find her balance, and when she stood back up, she found that everyone around them was glaring at her.

"Sorry," she quickly muttered to Lucifer, who looked very upset right now as he stared at the bottom of his pants. He glared at his pants for several seconds, not looking at her. Then, he turned around and entered the restaurant.

Daphne gulped, following behind him as she tried to shake off some of the mud from her own legs. She had just taken a shower!

When they entered the restaurant, a waiter that looked quite normal came and greeted them. When he saw Lucifer, his eyes immediately widened as he bowed down 90 degrees.

"Young master Black, welcome! Welcome!"

As he greeted them, he quickly sent an order over to another waiter to set the VIP room up.

Lucifer was put into a pretty bad mood as his lips were pressed into a thin line. Noticing this, the waiter gulped as he quickly held his arm out, "Please follow me. I will escort you to the private VIP room."

They walked through the tables, and everyone eating inside was dressed up, the women wearing long dresses and the men suits. It was obvious that this restaurant was for upper class people to dine in, but even so, when they saw the young devil master of the Black family, everyone looked up and gaped in surprise.

It wasn't every day you could see a devil walking around in a restaurant, even if you were an elite.

Then, gradually, the people's eyes moved to the girl following closely behind the devil, wearing what appeared to be a rag.

She looked down at her legs, and there was a disgusting layer of mud that was still wet. As she walked, the mud dirtied the clean, expensive carpet.

Seeing this, many of the people frowned deeply, wondering what the girl was doing. Was she a maid here? Or perhaps, did young master Black buy himself a slave?

The worker led them up the stairs to the second floor, and they walked to the end of the hallway where the worker pulled the door open, "Young master Black, I just ordered someone to clean our VIP room out for you. Please ring the bell on the table if you need anything."

The worker bowed down a full 90-degrees again as Lucifer walked straight past him and entered the room. From behind, Daphne followed and when the worker lifted his head up and saw this, he was just about to pull the girl back but she had walked in already.

There was a round table in the middle of the room, with only one chair.

Both Lucifer and Daphne frowned when they saw this sight, but Daphne was afraid that Lucifer was still angry so she did not speak.

The worker was just about to leave to get all the workers prepared when he heard a cold voice ask, "Is there a reason why there is only one chair?"
