Chapter 21 No! No! No!

[Stephanie's POV]

"I'm worried about Freya too," Arthur repeated what I had just said. He chuckled softly and whispered to me, "Liar."

I pretended not to hear it and walked quickly forward. I muttered, "I need to go back and get my face cleaned right now."

"Did you smell that? I mean, the she-wolf's mouth smells when she talks." Arthur quickly caught up with me, and he asked me with a smirk.

"I can only smell the furniture in Carl's house from her. If you smell anything else, please don't tell me, really don't. I'm hungry now, and I don't want to lose my appetite for a good breakfast."

I frowned and immediately offered a hand to stop Arthur. I could probably guess what his super-sensitive nose had smelled was that cheater's sperm.

But guessing and hearing someone tell the truth were totally different feelings. I refused to let Arthur confirm my suspicions.

Arthur grinned and deliberately leaned closer to me, "I wouldn't mind letting you smell more on me. Speaking of that, you haven't told me what exactly you can smell from me? Or, what's your favorite smell?"

"Fir." I sniffed the charming smell emitting from his body and then added, "To be precise, the fir trees cloaked in white snow after a snowfall."

As soon as I finished my answer, the tip of my nose was pecked by his soft lips. His touch was very gentle, plus it was a very pure kiss. However, the kiss was enough to make my peaceful heart like a lake rippled suddenly.

"Your nose seemed to be luring me to kiss it, just as you were sniffing my scent earlier." He winked at me.

The man was good at flirting. That was the first thought which occurred to me after I was hooked by his smile.

But, at the next second, I immediately considered his age. When he saved my life, he was 50 years old probably. So, could I assume that his superior flirting skills were due to the girlfriends he had with? Or, the she-wolf who saved me with him.

When I thought of that she-wolf, I was irritated, even though I didn't even know what she looked like. I didn't leave Arthur any expressions and ran faster to the entrance of the pack house.

"Steph, you're jealous." Rose giggled as she laughed at me.

"Stop thinking about that! I'm going to enjoy my breakfast first." I responded to Rose's taunt in my mind and opened the door to the pack house.

The smells of grilled bacon and buttered toast came from the kitchen, along with my favorite fried beef sausage. I knew Mrs. Grete's breakfast never disappointed me.

"Can I take your place for breakfast? Just for a minute." Rose's voice was filled with her desperate thirst for food.

"NO! Rose, you'll scare Dad and Patrick and Mrs. Grete. Remember, I'm still 17 years old. Even though my soul is already 18." I decisively refused her request.

"Then tomorrow, when you visit Doctor Dave, let me try the cranberry cookies. Would that be okay?" Rose didn't seem to give up on the idea of coming out for a delicious meal.

"NO! I told you we can't reveal I've shifted."

"Then can you go and find Witch Lassie's bar deep in the forest if you go to the Demon Forest Pack tomorrow night? We'll try the best roast chicken in the world." Rose made another proposal that sounded impractical and even dangerous.

"No way. Rose, are you crazy? Did you forget that Witch Lassie might be the one who made those weapons that killed us?"

"But that was just a guess on our part. Besides, now we're revived, back in the world of a year ago. Maybe at this time, Witch Lassie didn't even agree to help that bitchy couple craft their weapons."

Rose's emotions became unstable, and I could feel her wanting to come out again. I had to stand physically stiff in the hall on the first floor and try to stop Rose from coming out.

[Arthur's POV]

My anger has been piling up since those two assholes interrupted my private time with Steph. Steph didn't just say goodbye to the sucker. And, surprisingly, she didn't notice that slut's body was covered in the disgusting smell that bastard left on.

"Watch out. Arthur, my mate is so unstable. She seems to want to get out." Paul alerted me that Steph's wolf was getting emotional before the ignorant and arrogant puppy pulled out his gift. Steph was barely able to control her wolf. This was not a good sign at all.

Luckily, Steph and her wolf quickly regained their missing sanity with my reminder. However, it was clear that Steph didn't like the birthday present the jerk gave her.

The emerald on that necklace emitted an extremely subtle, pungent smell. I knew it was just a synthetic emerald made by humans with different chemicals. Although werewolves were physically strong, this synthetic emerald was not good for our health.

Triton's son was such a no-nonsense bastard!

However, before I could remind Steph, she couldn't wait to wear the necklace herself. Why did she have to act like she liked this inferior gift? I guessed that Steph might be planning her revenge. But I clenched my fists when I saw Carl throwing me a winning smile.

My anger was not relieved until after the two assholes left. I noticed Steph rubbing her forehead and the side of her face hard. I was so amused by her actions that I couldn't help but joke with her.

Then I saw the tip of her nose twitching twice as she sniffed me again. My anger completely disappeared. I thought she was too adorable, so I couldn't help but kiss the tip of her nose. As a result, she didn't respond to anything and didn't talk to me, running straight back to her packhouse.

"Paul, Steph seems to be angry with me for kissing her nose. Can you feel it?" I scratched my short hair. I was annoyed and upset because I couldn't guess why Steph was suddenly upset. I could only turn to my wolf.

"If you could guess exactly what was going through in the mind of a girl in late adolescence, you could be an alpha god instead of an alpha king."

"Thank you for giving me an answer that doesn't do much for me." I sighed. I hadn't racked my brain to guess what a girl was thinking just to please her since Emily had married William. Jones, the love of her life.

"Buddy, don't think so much about it. Maybe, she's just too hungry and in a bad mood. You want to make her happy. Why don't you think about how to send her snow-covered firs in the summer." Paul always reminded me to focus on the important things at critical times.

"Stop it, Rose."

I heard Steph's voice. Her voice was not loud, and it sounded like she was repressing something.

Her wolf! I immediately remembered she couldn't fully control her wolf right now.

I quickly sprinted to the packhouse door and found Steph crouched on the floor, her arms around her head. No, her arms and legs had turned into wolf limbs. No, her arms and legs had turned into wolf limbs. Her wolf's strong hind limbs and thick tail had stretched her sweatpants to shreds.

I immediately ran to her, "Steph, look at me!" My hands cupped her cheeks and forced her to look at me. I could see that the color of her eyes had changed.

"Calm down, Rose! Back off now. I want to see Steph," I gazed into her wolf's pure black eyes. And I commanded her wolf by using the cold voice that I usually deliver only when meeting rogues.

Her wolf gave up out in just one breath and returned my Steph to me.

The moment she regained her human form, I felt the scent of lemon soda intensify on her.

I looked down to find the source of the scent. As a result, my eyes went black. Soft and warm palms patted my eyes. My fingers touched the pieces of panties scattered on the floor. Suddenly, I guessed where the strong smell of lemon soda was coming from.

"Don't look!" Steph warned me.

My buddy hidden in my shorts was about to stand up. For moon god's sake, I only imagined that there was a delicate flower with intoxicating fragrance hidden between her straight and slender legs. I would probably take her back to my bed if I really saw it.

"Lily, go out and see if Miss is in the hall. my moon god, my caramel is almost done, and I can't leave the stove." It looks like Steph's warning succeeded in gaining the attention of the she-wolves in the kitchen.
