Chapter Twenty-Six: "What's wrong with my eyes?"

Karla Smith.

When I manage to open my eyes I see Alex with his eyes closed and how close we are. Oh my God! He is kissing me! I notice how my cheeks begin to turn pink and a current of pleasure grips my small body. The kiss is passionate and sweet although at the same time it is rough and demanding of more, something more than just a kiss. And as if it were for institute I push him away abruptly and he seems surprised.

"May I know what the hell you're doing?" "The illusion that my reaction arouses in him overwhelms me and misses me at the same time." Where are we? And the party?" I ask, looking around me terrified.

Where the hell am I?

"I'll explain quickly before she comes back." He says and takes my hand.

"Wait, who has to come back?"

Ignoring me he leads me to his Range Rover and I am still aware of the dent in it unrepaired that I did the first day we met. He opens the door for me and he runs to get into the driver's seat.

"You are a half-demon angel and your demonic part wants to take over you," he says hastily. "She wants to destroy all the good in you and hurt your loved ones. Your mother was once one of the most powerful angels and your father the most ruthless demon that has ever been known."

"Are you drunk?"

He shakes his head and gulps as he grabs my cheeks with his big hands.

"You better than anyone can read the feelings of others" he looks at me with intensity and fear begins to grip my heart.

I do what he asks me without really knowing what would have to happen and something clicks in my head. He is not lying. He is not lying! I have no idea how I know that, but I do. Everything he says is true. My fear begins to increase and I don't see why he is telling me this.

"I don't understand," I say simply.

"You have a lot of power, Karla. Aradia only wants to harm those around her and abuse your power."

"Who is Aradia?"

"You part demon and your sister." I frown upon hearing that madness.

"Really, are you drunk?"

He sighs impatiently and reunites his precious gaze with mine.

"Adam."

"What's the matter with him?" I ask confused.

"Aradia is holding him prisoner. I need you to tell me where he has it hidden."

Confusion and fear grip every inch of my being and I don't understand what is happening.

"How am I supposed to know that?" I say, exasperated.

"Concentrate."

I close my eyes and try to do what he tells me. Although it sounds crazy, I pay attention to the boy with the colored eyes and a powerful force passes through me accompanied by a cold current. I search in my mind for something that can help Alex but I can't find anything so after a few endless seconds I give up.

"I'd like to know what the hell is going on," I say after a moment.

"I'll explain it to you as quickly as I can. You are powerful, very much. And there are people who want to use that to their advantage by keeping your soul trapped in a kind of limbo. Aradia, your double, she will do the same if we don't stop her in time. If you don't believe me, look at the reflection of your eyes.

I frown even though I listen to him and look at my reflection in the mirror. Oh my God! I have a kind of ink that colors the entire left eyeball black and the right one has the same thing only that there is a small groove that is a brilliant white.

"What's wrong with my eyes?" I ask confusedly without taking my eyes off the reflection of a very different self.

"It is what you are: half-angel, half-demon. We have to act fast if you want to stay alive."
