My hand smarts. I groan and open my eyes to see daddy by my bed side, rubbing my knuckles softly.
"Hey there little one, feel any better? " he asks kissing my forehead.
"No daddy, worse. Hand smarts." I complain and pout.
"They changed your drip half an hour ago baby girl. It will be fine." he kisses me again.
"Take this out daddy!" I say louder than I intend to be.
Daddy sighs.
"Not possible sweet heart. This is for you to get better soon yes?" he says.
"No no!! Take this out! It hurts!!" I start crying. It hurts. Why doesn't daddy understand?
"Hush... Hush baby girl. I know. I know." he holds me in a hug and rubs my back trying to calm me down.
"What's wrong?" Penny comes in looking super worried.
"Pennyyy... Hand hurts... Needle out... Pweeaaseee..." I scream before daddy can say anything and make grabby hands towards her.
Daddy and Penny share a look.
"Okay. Okay. Calm down baby girl. We will take this out once the doctor comes okay? We don't know how to take it out ourselves right?" Penny says hugging me.
"Penny good. Daddy mean" I mutter.
Daddy's pov
I chuckle. I can't help it. Thankfully Sansa calms down after Penny coaxes her into letting the IV stay.
"You want to have ice cream now? Hmm?" I ask my baby girl.
She nods frantically making us both laugh.
"Okay little one. I will get some." Penny says and goes out to bring her ice creams.
We are both feeding her ice creams and she is in her happy place. The ring that I bought for her is in my pocket. I am nervous unable to decide when to and how to propose. What if she says no? I am lost in my thoughts when Penny shakes my hand.
"Daddy? What happened to Manuela." she asks and both Penny and I are taken aback.
"I... I don't know baby. She is with Gus." I say semi honestly. She'd probably be dead by now. I wouldn't ever want to let Sansa know that though. She has already been through a lot.
"Don't hurt her daddy please. I like her." she says.
I don't know what to say. I look at Penelope for help but she looks as clueless as I am.
"Right baby girl. I won't." I lie through my teeth. I don't know what else to do.
Tell her that she is dead already? Definitely no!
The nurse comes in to give her medicine.
"Time for your medicines, baby girl." I say keeping away the bowl of ice-cream.
"Take out this." she points at her IV again.
"Baby, the doctor knows how to do that. She doesn't." I tell Sansa. She looks at the nurse sadly.
I lie. Again.
"No meds." she mutters and hits the nurse suddenly. The small cup with the syrup falls.
I glare at Sansa. I hate when she throws things or hits people.
"Don't think I cannot spank you for acting up Miss." I scold her.
She hides in Penny's arms.
"Sansa you have the meds and then we can watch movies and eat donuts. What say?" Penny says.
She shakes her head.
"Princess, please. Be a good girl for daddy?" I tell her next.
She shakes her head again, trying to vanish into Penny's arms.
"Okay, since she won't drink the medicine, give her the injection that I asked you not to earlier." I tell the nurse. Obviously that was a stunt to get my baby to take her meds.
"No! No daddy. I take med." Sansa says and Penny is trying not to smile.
"That's my good girl." Penny encourages her.
Sansa drinks the meds and makes the funniest face after that.
"Come on princess, it cannot be that bad." I chuckle and kiss her on the cheek.
"You try next time daddy." she says and pouts. Penny laughs.
For the rest of the afternoon the three of us snuggle, watch movies and eat donuts.
