Now Then… I 33A

“Are you and Raina together again?” Travis couldn’t help but ask once they were settled in their seats on the plane. Watching the comfort drain from his son’s posture and face as he stiffened and smiled an awkward smile, refusing to look at him.

“We were just talking.”

“I didn’t ask you what you were doing.” There’s no way the three left behind weren’t wondering the same thing. Tom might have even made fun of them to Sawyer’s face. He assessed his son who looked out the plane window. “Why won’t you answer me?”

“Because it’s awkward.”

“So yes then.”

“No!” He snapped.

“No you’re not together?”

“Yes.” He sighed, shaking his head, still unable to look at his father.

“Why are you acting like it’s a bad thing?”

“Why are you acting like you care about it?”

“I do. To be honest, I kinda miss you two being together.”
