She Speaks To Me

I began strolling round the hotel to see if I could find any clues. Just then, a limousine pulled up outside and a young lady wearing sunglasses stepped out. It seemed she was here for an interview because many reporters crowded her asking her numerous questions to which she gave a brief reply. I stood there watching intently. I was a celebrity too and I knew how annoying those reporters could be. Finally, the interview concluded and when she took off her shades, I almost fell to the ground.

It was Emma. I immediately rushed downstairs and ran to hug her thinking if she saw me she would remember something about my past. I began crying on her shoulder and she let me. "I missed you so much Emma", I cried repeatedly. She let me cry all I wanted then patted my back and slowly withdrew me from her grip. Did she remember anything? Next, she said words that broke me completely.

"I'm really sorry but I am not Emma. My name is Marina Daisy and...", she stopped abruptly and yelled "Hey. I remember you". I smiled contentedly and said "You do?". "Yes. I met you at the hotel in California", came thr harsh words. The smile faded from my face and I muttered under my breath "So that's all you remember." "What was that?", she asked. "Nothing", I replied. "Why did you let me cry on your shoulders and pat my back even though you don't really know me?". I so badly wanted to tell her the truth but the doctor said not to stress her and besides, how would she believe me just like that?

She gave me a reply "I am not a heartless person you know. How could I treat a helpless crying man so badly by pulling him away without comforting him. I can't do that.". I smiled and said "Thank you for that hug. It came at the right time. You see my life's not perfect at the moment." "Not perfect? You look like you have everything anybody can ever ask for. Why is it not perfect?"

I replied sadly "I threw my younger sister out of our house six years ago because she had been accused of murder and all the evidence had pointed to her. Now, I've found out she's innocent but the damage has been done. She was whipped in jail and even hit by a car then she lost her memory. She lives right here so I came to ask for forgiveness. I came to bring her back home with me and make her regain her memory. But tell me, if you were that sister, would you forgive me?"

She sighed and said "Your sister has been through a lot. She might not forgive you so easily because of all the torture. But if I were that sister, I would try my best to forgive you but if going to jail or being whipped and been hit by a car caused one problem for me in life, sorry but I would certainly not forgive you. Especially if I loved and trusted you the most." Great! I am doomed now. She concluded "Nevertheless, I will pray that you find your sister and she forgives you. Nice meeting you Mr Jeff". I smiled and said "Call me Jeff". She chuckled and replied "Okay Jeff. Bye. I've gotta go. Good luck finding your sister", she said and walked out. "You are that sister", I muttered while looking at her limousine zoom off.

No! I needed to follow her so that I could speak to the couple that had raised her all this time. I jumped into the car Ian had sent for me. Luckily, there was a bit of traffic so she hadn't gotten too far. I watched as the limousine parked in a big compound but suddenly reversed and sped off. "She must have urgent business.", I thought. I parked my car in the compound and hopped out but a pair of hands pulled me back. Probably security! I knew I was in so much trouble but to my utter surprise, when they saw my face they let me go and knelt down begging "Really sorry Mr Jeff. We're your biggest fans, we enjoy listening to your rock songs. Please forgive us. What do you want?" l smiled. So being famous could help me in my quest to find out the truth? Very good! I gave each of them an autograph and they allowed me inside the house. It's high time I knew the entire truth...
