Chapter 40: Seductive Mei

The scrolls of heaven and earth that were used in the second part of the exam, the test of survival used seals.

If they were opened anywhere but the tower, it wouldn't do anything.

But if it was in the tower, chakra stored in the scroll would summon someone to inform the participants about the next round of the exam.

The three representatives of the three major villages, Itachi, Pakura and Mei arrived at the tower with the required scrolls, in two days since the exam's start.

The three were looking at each other currently.

Itachi stared at Mei and thought to himself.

"Are these the representatives of Kumogakure and Sunagakure?"

"I guess not all villages have geniuses to spare. She's at least 2 years older than me."

Although, Hokage-sama had tasked him with showing off Konoha's might to the other countries, he wanted any and all advantages he could get so he observed his opponents intently.

A shadowy figure flashed beside him and patted him on the shoulder while encouraging him.

"Don't worry, you're the genius of our Uchiha clan, you can win this thing!"

The figure caught the attention of Terumi Mei and Pakura who were standing opposite them.

They knew a lot about this genius called Shisui Uchiha.

After thinking about his friends words he covered one eye with his hand.

In a one on one fight, the Uchiha possessed a great advantage.

The sharingan specialised in reading the movements of opponents, besides overpowering them with strength or numbers there was no efficient way of dealing them.

"Oh, hey, it's Konoha's number one genius!"

Hachiro walked into the tower before asking nearby staff where to go.

Compared to Hachiro who made his presence known, Baki walked in making much less noise.

He walked past Pakura and whispered,

"Good luck. Show them Suna's strength."

After, they had arrived the Konoha Jonin in charge of security led them and the other guide jonin who had arrived rather late to the central tower. Most of the genin followed not far behind.

"So, have you finished your business yet?"

Mei held a hand on her hip.

For some reason she looked particularly seductive today.

Her natural charm was just begging Hachiro to force a bunny girl suit on her.

"Yeah~ It went quite well, better than I thought it go~"

He gave her a smirk and wrapped an arm around her waist, causing her to playfully punch him in response.

"Hey! Don't do that with people here~"

The Uchiha duo and Baki tried to pretend they didn't just witness their flirting with embarrasment.

Damn it! This is a chunin exam.

You're making it seem like it's your honeymoon!

Go and do romantic stuff elsewhere!

In a residence belong to the Sarutobi, near the clan compound.

Although, he had not gotten to go to the battlefield personally after becoming Hokage, the scene in the living room was enough to make him irrationally livid.

Looking at the corpses of his beloved family members, he fell backwards breathing heavily.

"Lord Hokage!"

"Hokage-sama, please be careful!"

A few Sarutobi ninja on the side reached out to support him.

"This...what is this...what happened?!?!?!"

Thanks to the rush of grief, anger and doubts, he felt the world distort as he glared towards the people from his clan.

The ninja and maids were frightened, they looked at each other before a chunin gathered his courage and said,

"When we arrived... It had already happened..."

He regretted giving this house to his son.

He had no need for security as a kage-level ninja, the Anbu guarding him were more or less decorations that were meant to alert him whenever an enemy approached.

He calmed down and tried to think rationally.

For someone to kill an elite Jonin and special Jonin silently, the opponent at least had the strength of a quasi-kage. That or he was an elite Jonin with a bloodline inheritance.

Was it the Uchiha?!

Hiruzen thought of the red eyed clan immediately.

That was the only conflict that was currently ongoing.

"Hiruzen, what happened?!"

"Oh my god... Shinnosuke and Akako?"

The elders, Koharu and Homaru just arrived on the scene and reacted with shock.

A veteran from the Sarutobi clan, knew that this was going to be a big deal, he notified the Konoha elders so that they could help the Hokage calm down.
