Chapter 42: Good ol' British cuppa tea

If the Hokage had showed up by himself or with a small entourage, they would have merely thought he was going to spectate the exams.

It would have made sense as well, as he could use the opportunity to observe the strength of ninja from other villages.

But when you bring over 20 Anbu and some of the highest decision makers in the village, it becomes clear to almost anyone you're not their to harmless watch the participants.

Kakashi halted his speech and looked towards the Hokage.

Ignoring the puzzlement of the audience, Hiruzen's eyes shot towards Baki and Pakura.

The two recipients of his bloodshot gaze were baffled,

What's wrong old man?

You're making it seem like we killed your family!

"Excuse me, Hokage-sama, the Chunin exam is about to begin. Do you need anything?"

Hiashi spoke up,

Quite a few people looked at Hiashi in surprise,

Does clan duties make you lose EQ?

Even the ninja dogs look afraid of the Hokage, he must want to be throttled.

"Shut up!!!"

Hiruzen couldn't keep up his kind old man persona and shouted in anger.

Hiashi looked surprised before he stared back blankly,

Heh! Now do you know the pain of losing your child?

He knew that he was treading on thin ice and shut up after that.

"Mr. Baki, I think Sunagakure owes this old man an explanation!"

Hiruzen locked his gaze on Baki again and yelled with no intent of letting the man go.

Baki looked lost on the path of life seeing how the angry Hokage was talking to him.

He used the Body flicker technique to approach him and ask.

"I'm sorry, but could Lord Hokage elaborate?"

Hiruzen didn't speak but infused chakra into small sand before throwing it at him,

Baki being a Jonin caught it easily.

He opened his palm with narrowed eyes and said questioningly,

"This is... iron sand?"

"Yes! Iron sand that was found inside the corpses of my son and daughter-in-law!"

Hiruzen said while gritting his teeth,

"Old man! Wait... what are you talking about?! Big brother? No way they actually-"

Asuma who was sitting in the stands shot up and shouted in disbelief,

The other shinobi from Konoha shared his feelings and felt some fear as well.

A relative of the Hokage died?

And listening to his remarks so far, he seems to suspect Sunagakure as the culprit behind it?!

"This is the ninjutsu of you're Third Kazekage, are you sure have nothing to explain?"

Koharu demanded,

Since there was no way to persuade Hiruzen to calm down, she could only go with the flow.

She didn't mind their behaviour as long as it didn't effect her interests, but if Hiruzen was going to antagonize Sunagakure that would mean that Konoha might be harmed.

It was precisely because it wasn't in her best interest that she allowed the White Fang, Minato and the Senju to die.

Or when the Hyuga heiress was abducted, she took the side of the cloud as it benefited her the most.

Baki and Pakura were feeling quite scared despite their calm appearance.

One wrong step and they might be buried in this god forsaken village.

Baki looked up and said,

"The Third Kazekage went missing eight years ago and hasn't been in contact with the sand since. This has nothing to do with Sunagakure."

That said the Kazekage was the only one with the ability to control iron sand in particular.

As such he had a sneaking suspicion that the Third Kazekage was back and alive.

But even so, there was no way he was going to admit that this incident had something to do with Sunagakure in front of so many shinobi from other villages.

"You asshole!!!"

Hiruzen roared causing many of the smaller villages to jump in fright

He pointed at Baki and said,

"Only Sunagakure has techniques that involve iron sand! Now after stealing the Scroll of Sealing and killing my family, you dare to deny it!?"

As soon as the onlookers heard that the Scroll of Sealing was stolen then fell into an uproar.

The Scroll of Sealing was an invaluable treasure recording thousands of jutsu from Konoha's establishment and even included forbidden techniques!

Many ninja felt envy as they gazed at Baki and Pakura.

Mei looked at Hachiro with her eyebrows knit, he still had maniacal grin as he watched the sand take the blame for his acts against Konoha.

So that's why this dumbass is in such a joyful mood.

So many jutsu will greatly augment Kumo's strength.

Hachiro attempted to retract his grin noticing her gaze.

He tried to take her attention off of his crimes by going for a quick kiss on the cheek.

He put his arm around her shoulder as they watched the dogs go at each other.
