Chapter 74: "I...want to kill Itachi."

_____________________________________

"Everyone in the World, thinks that the Uchiha all are but gone. The last two remaining members being bitter brothers ready to kill each other at a moments notice. I bet none of them would expect a third Uchiha..."

After the quick fight, Orochimaru walked over to the corpse of Rasa.

Pakura and Izumi looked away in disgust, as he made use of a disguising technique.

"And even more so, one with a Mangekyo Sharingan..."

The reason he had to go the extra length was because, ordinary transformation techniques could be seen through by sensors.

Although, he had a little trouble because the Kazekage's body had gained several new scars and burns on it.

After, he got what he wanted he used a fire style jutsu to turn the corpse to ashes as it scattered in the wind.

"Well then, the next time we will meet will hopefully be during the chunin exams."

"This exam will be rather exciting."

A small snake slithered out from Orochimaru's arm.

He thought to himself, as he glanced at Izumi.

The power of the Uchiha was so intoxicating even after they had almost went extinct.

Unfortunately, he didn't think he would survive after pissing off the Cloud, so he regretfully shook his head and commanded the snake to return.

It's not like I don't have Itachi's younger brother.

I'm looking forward to what kind of performance he will give me during the Chunin exams.

A maniacal smile dawned on his face.

A few days later.

Located in the Land of Hot Water, in a small hotel.

At the dining table, Pakura was trapped in her thoughts, feeling worried.

What will happen to Sunagakure in the future? With Rasa dead, the strongest will merely be Baki sensei or the retired elder Chiyo and her brother, Ebizo.

"Pakura-sensei, don't you want to try being Kazekage?"

Izumi asked curiously,

"Well, it's been a few years since, I've left the sand, and Rasa declared that I died on a mission. Plus, I've kind of gotten used to just following orders..."

"Now that I think about, it's been six years since then. Have you decided what you want to do?"

Pakura changed the subject.

"Ehh..."

Izumi's big eyes showed confusion. These last few years, she had followed Pakura as a member of her Anbu squad.

But even outside of the Anbu, she worked herself a machine.

Everytime, she stopped for a moment she relived that nightmare, using work to numb herself at least made her feel better.

It made her feel sick just thinking about how her best friend had slaughtered not only their clan but also her mother. Her gentle and lovely mother...

"Well, that incident went down due to many factors and reasons. But it is undeniable that Itachi Uchiha decided to be the one to bring down the butchers knife, you should be careful what you choose. Make sure it's what you want."

Pakura learned the truth about the Uchiha's genocide through small talk with Samui.

Personally, from the perspective of an onlooker, she thought that Itachi was ruthless and heartless in his own way.

Even, if he was doing it for righteous reasons, killing your family and crowds of innocent people that probably had nothing to do with the revolution didn't seem... Well, right?

Especially, when he tried to take the life of her cute, little, teammate because there was a chance she would 'reveal the truth behind the Uchiha massacre'.

To be honest, according to that logic shouldn't he have been targeting the cloud? They were more likely to gain from such actions, so why attempt to kill your loyal childhood friend?

Izumi sipped on the wine with her eyes closed.

The night of the Uchiha massacre...

Itachi raising a knife and trying to kill her...

The countless corpses of her clan members littered about like rubbish...

And most importantly...

It flashed inside her mind like a slideshow.

Her father was not from the Uchiha clan, and as such, when her mother fell in love and married him, they were kicked out of the Uchiha compound.

She wasn't certain whether her father died in the Third Ninja war or whether he simply divorced her mother. But she knew for certain that she had been raised tirelessly by Hazuki Uchiha.

She did have some special feelings for Itachi, but they died along with her mother on that night...

She mourned silently before opening her eyes.

"I... want to kill Itachi."

Thanks to the turbulence of emotions, she had unintentionally activated her Mangekyo sharingan.

Rumble~

Izumi blushed in embarrassment, she put down her hands on her stomach and said.

"Ehm... Pakura-sensei, do you... by any chance have any money I can borrow? I'll pay you back!"

Pakura got up and grabbed one of her smaller ninja pouchs and placed it in front of Izumi.

"There. Go outside and find something to eat, don't worry about the cost."

Soon after Izumi's exit, Hachiro twisted the door knob and walked in without knocking on the door.

"Yo. So have you considered trying to run for the position of Kazekage? I can make some arrangements that will help you, if that's needed."

"N-No, thank you. I'm not suitable candidate, I don't know how to run a village."

Pakura panicked slightly,

The very experienced politician, used his great EQ and asked,

"By the way where is Izumi? Has her camouflaging skills improved?"

Pakura: "..."

I am having emotional turmoil, alright? Now is not the time for you to go on a date and flirt.

"So~ where is she?"

Hachiro scanned the room using his eyes and thought in wonder.

"She's not here, she went out to get something to eat, and maybe go shopping if anything catches her eye."

Pakura resisted the urge to punch him

Wow! The workaholic has learnt to enjoy herself!

Hachiro rolled his eyes before belly flopping on the bed.

Comfy~

He pulled her on top of him and asked,

"Remember the water balloon disaster?"

Pakura looked at him confused, the word 'disaster' made it sound serious.

Hachiro smirked as she had a flashback from 3 years ago.

Approaching her house was her teammate Izumi holding water balloons and seeking revenge for the prank pulled on her a week ago.

She froze.

Her eager expression became stiff hearing the mixed symphony of noise coming from her captain and best friends home.

She didn't know what to do, after standing stunned for a minute she pressed her ear against the door to try and confirm her hypothesis.

She blushed and decided to come back later,

...

...

Three hours later she returned only to realise they hadn't stopped.

She wasn't certain how long it would take them to finish but the flimsy balloons were ready to pop...

After half an hour of deliberation, she decided to just open the door and throw.

It sounded like they were in the kitchen anyway.

Can you only wait for the other person to come out?

A grin dawned on her face.

Hachiro-sama wouldn't mind right~?
