Chapter 117: Ohnoki and his great idea's

And like that, the Konoha Crush plan succeeded along with the death of the four highest authorities, the elders.

Officially, Hinata Raiden of Hyuga descent was the new Hokage, with the greatest authority.

However, even without the peculiarity of having a different surname, it was relatively easy to figure out that the Cloud could control Konoha from the shadows.

Originally, they didn't have many countermeasures in place, in the event that the other villages banded together and attempted to bring Kumogakure down, because they simply couldn't bring out the necessary high level combat power.

One thing to note though, was that the Fourth Mizukage was still alive.

He was more or less certain that Itachi should have killed the jinchuriki by now, so it was slightly worrying that it the plot had deviated this way.

If in the case of an alliance between existing enemy major villages and a hired Akatsuki things could get messy.

That being said, there were a few things they could do to prevent the worst case scenario.

For example, request Orochimaru to distract Sunagakure for a while and hope that he 'kindly' agrees.

Or just simply, take control over any water sources in the desert. In Sunagakure, water was a vital, yet expensive commodity. Even if the Cloud only took one or two it would prove to be detrimental to the Sand.

...

...

A week later in Konoha village.

After successfully occupying the position of Hokage, Genkei took the majority of the shinobi they had brought and returned to the Land of Thunder to report to the Raikage.

Hachiro had also asked for a letter to be sent to his cousin, that requested for manpower to be sent to replace the vacuum created by the absence of the Sarutobi and Shimura clans.

With their fall, there was a large amount of vacant lands, businesses and manpower that was causing problems and not something he wanted to entrust to the other clan's.

The businesses and man power were currently being filled in by the civilians and shinobi that stayed behind.

There was still resistance from the local community but that was inevitable and something that could only be overcome in time.

Samui, Atsui, Mabui and Yugito ended up relocating to Konoha permanently.

Mabui and Samui because they decided it would be best for Hinata and so that they could help with the new management.

Atsui because the cyclops corps was being split in two and they needed a leader. And Yugito in hopes she could give Naruto pointers.

They started to also promote immigration but the results weren't too spectacular so far with a less than immediate effect.

That being said, they did face an influx of refugees and people looking to stay in the Land of Fire as a whole after news spread to other countries.

While, it wasn't too clear to the common populace the extent of the damage done, people locked onto the smell of destruction and chaos intertwined with job opportunities.

For a village as big as Konoha just the day to day operations would require many men, and after a conflict that resulted in the doom of two of the biggest the clan's that demand would be even greater.

The people impacted weren't just the common people, but the other shinobi villages too.

It raised quite an alarm as a result of it involving three of the top powers in this murderous world.

...

...

The Land of Water.

Currently, Obito was busy planning the capture of another tailed beast and ignored the commotion caused by the joint alliance of the other three villages.

Aside from a casual order he gave White Zetsu to monitor the situation and if possible steal information from Kumogakure, he didn't pay much thought to the battle.

If anything, he looked down on the 'materialistic' actions of Hachiro after acknowledging him as the biggest obstacle on the path to completing project Tsuki-no-me.

But. It would not matter once the plan succeeded.

Regardless of the villages he had conquered it was worthless in front of the Infinite Tsukoyomi.

He smiled under his mask and said with his Madara voice. "A new, perfect world... is inevitable."

Interrupting him, a Zetsu, half black and half white, emerged from the Mizukage's office and reminded him.

"Failure is always an option, Obito. We cannot risk the plan no matter what, so it's better to be careful."

The masked man gave a Uchiha grunt and huffed.

"Hn! Calling me Obito and preaching about cautiousness..."

White Zetsu nodded to pacify him as Black Zetsu got down to business. "We've been keeping an eye on that red haired woman from the cloud, she's been acting rather strangely as of late and frequenting the borders of the Mist village..."

...

...

Iwagakure.

Upon recieving news of the recent events, Onoki, the Tsuchikage that had been stuck serving his village as the leader for well over fifty years got the fright of his life.

His old bones had been present and lived through the ear that belonged to Hashirama and Madara when they first joined hands to create Konoha.

The power that the village held back them forces the other clan's into desperation as they set aside their differences and formed villages of their own.

Despite knowing that they had declined a lot since then, it was still terrifying to know that someone had trumped that village who's strength traumatised him to this day.

"Tsuchikage-sama, what should we do?"

Kitsuchi worriedly asked Ohnoki for orders on how to respond.

Ohnoki looked at him with a grave expression and asked.

"So who legally succeeded that old fox?"

He reported as he flipped through the pages in his hand. "Hinata Raiden. From our recent investigations and collection of information stored on foreign villages seems to be the daughter of a Kage-level shinobi, Hachiro Raiden. While only being a young 13 year old, she possesses immense strength.

While his worry wasn't completely lifted, he muttered slightly contemptuously.

"They planted a 13 year old girl into such an important office? Are they making some sort of joke?"

He completely ignored the comment of her strength and focused in on her age.

For good reason too, how would the genin in the academy feel if their Hokage and leader was little more than a few years older than them.

Children were easily associated with words like unreliable, immature and inexperienced.

Trying to muster any confidence in an image like that would be an impossible task.

The old Ohnoki groaned in regret upon hearing how easily and quickly, Konoha had been taken over.

He noted that Konoha was currently being guarded by several strong shinobi, such as the unknown Uchiha shinobi who reminded him of Madara with her fancy , the perfect Two tails jinchuriki and the menace that seemed to be causing trouble everywhere, Hachiro Raiden.

Trying to stir up trouble might cause them to be the next target and that many kage-level shinobi would spell Iwagakure's end.

Feeling as if he aged another few years thanks to his own stupidity, Ohnoki spoke with regret. "Damn it! How could I be blinded by their past moments of prosperity to not see their weakness! Otherwise I would be the one dying under massive piles of spoils from war!"

He felt like the duck he had been cooking decided to fly away!

Can ducks even fly?! I knew I should have thrown away this position before I got old, now I'm even getting Alzheimer's as the leader of the village!

His granddaughter, Kurotsuchi, had concern written over her face as she asked while blinking.

"Grandfather, what should we do?"

As if to prove he had Alzheimer's, an imaginary light bulb popped into existence above his head.

Isn't there other weak countries?

Suna-no... might have an alliance with the Cloud and too little resources.

"How is Kirigakure taking the news?"

The old shorty grinned and thought to himself.

That little brat called Yagura has been in charge for ten years now. He should have already turned the country into a burial ground for bloodlines, the remaining ninja should be weak and small in number after killing each other for years.

They're probably even weaker than the Land of Fire, I need to hurry before those Cloud bastards free up their men.

Ohnoki's eyes became slightly bloodshot from excitement, as he ordered.

"Quick! Assemble our ninja army and prepare to raid those fools in the Mist. We're going to be the ones picking up a bargain next!"

If those bastards want to be greedy and take all the benefits they'll have to defeat me!

"Bwhahahaahahahhaha!"
