Chapter 120: Milky tea

In the original, the Sand had been so desperate, that they placed Gaara, an imperfect tailed beast that had shown clear signs of emotional confusion as the fifth Kazekage.

Sure, he was a child of the previous leader and someone with great strength at his disposal, but during the chunin exams, he had went beserk merely after being injured. Regardless, it was a desperate decision.

Although, now with this new option, Pakura, they jumped on the opportunity despite knowing the negatives of this decision.

They didn't really know of her involvement with Rasa's death as it had been cleverly concealed and pushed onto Orochimaru.

Pakura asked looking slightly teary eyed.

"Can I go..?"

Hachiro grinned before walking over and whispering something in her ear.

A blush flashed across her face for a second before hiding itself with the only evidence being the tips of her ears.

With a stoic expression, she nodded and tried to act normal.

"Eh, sensei?"

Temari stared awkwardly at her noticing the sudden flush on her face, unlike the two dense boys behind her.

Pakura revealed a small smile and asked the three siblings. "Nevermind, get ready to head home tomorrow."

Despite, not getting a definite answer, Temari secretly gave a sigh of relief.

At least, they hadn't been straight up rejected. That was a promising sign, right?

They nodded and took two steps towards the door before the door slammed open, almost taking both it's hinges and Gaara's head off.

In came, a busty woman with auborn hair.

She noticed the automatic sand armour defending the jinchuriki from sudden death and gave a quick apology.

"Uh, sorry about that, emergency."

After that she quickly hopped over to the desk and hugged Hachiro's arm.

"Hey, there's a really bad situation. One of the croonies under Izumi just notified her that Iwagakure has mobilised their troops and are marching towards the shores in the direction of the Land of Water!"

Mabui glared at her.

Vixen!

Hearing the potential world altering news, Hinata's expression showed no sign of changing.

It wasn't that she didn't care, but she didn't really know what to do.

Sure, it was her big sister in trouble, but she wasn't in the best of positions to help her.

It was something for her father to worry about~

Mabui regained her focus as she and Pakura displayed mild shock.

Mabui, being the walking library she was, repeated knowledge she thought would help in this situation.

"The last clash between the two villages was half a century ago, that resulted in the death of the Second Mizukage and Tsuchikage and more than 13,000 troops."

Pakura mumbled with a frown, "What could have spurred them into action... wait, that was us right?"

Totally, not enjoying the feeling of two pillows on his arm, he thought about it and replied.

"Likely, it was the pressure we created from our jump in power. It might have inspired the more radical shinobi into rallying the other villagers, and forcing the Tsuchikage to move."

Hinata looked at him and inquired, "Couldn't the Tsuchikage be the one behind the mobilisation?"

Hachiro shrugged in reply and said, "I don't think so, I like to call him a fence sitter for a reason."

Mei rubbed her face against his shoulder and murmurred, "You never told us why you call him a fence sitter. And besides, does it really matter whether it was the Tsuchikage or not?"

Mabui scratched her cheek and voiced her own analysis, "I think, it was probably both. Thanks to the rule of the Fourth Mizukage, the ninja clans with bloodlines have been annihilated and the seven ninja swordsmen dead. Kirigakure like Konoha have declined heavily, for the village hidden in the earth to target them, it's not that strange."

Mei blinked and looked up at him coquettishly, he helplessly pondered on what he was going to do.

I guess this will work out quite well, I might be able to do some damage to the Akatsuki, and Iwagakure. Mei will hopefully, still become the Mizukage as planned though.

With those thoughts in mind, he took a step back and patted the mature woman beside him on the shoulder.

"Take this seal and gather shinobi to help you in your next task. You can say it's the Hokage's order."

Despite, the smile on his face, he groaned to himself inwardly.

This is what I get for trying to use my future knowledge to cut corners.

I'll make sure to bake the old thing into a roast.

Completely ignoring the other people in the office, she stood on her tiptoes and gave him a kiss on the cheek.

"Thank you~mua!"

Aside from those use too it. Temari became as red as a tomato and regretted staying there a second longer than she needed to.

...

...

At night, around where the Sarutobi clan used to be located.

Pakura's house.

"You looked really pretty in your ninja uniform..."

Pakura rolled her eyes and sipped on the tea that almost consisted, purely of milk.

"Anyway... did you think about my earlier proposal?"

She squinted her eyes at him as if wondering if he was serious.

He was thinking about teaching him how to befriend Shikaku, not that he thought it was going to be an easy task.

Evidently in the anime, he proved to be both strong and trustworthy.

He could later take over the position of Kazekage, allowing Pakura to go do whatever she wanted again.
