Chapter 13

Precious' P.O.V

Walking out of Mr. Johnsons' office I looked at Angela and realized how much I missed her, how much of a gap she actual left in my life. She was the only person I could vent to; she was the person I've ever been close to. I held her by a hand as soon as we got to the hallway.

"Listen dummy, I am so sorry," I said "for pushing you away and making feel like I don't appreciate you enough."

Without a word being said, Angela just turned and hugged me. Angela was mostly a hugger in emotional situations.

"It's okay," she whispered in my ear "I love you dummy."

I nodded as she released me from the tight hug. We held hands as we walked through the hallway until we went separate ways. I arrived in my class, I found another female lecture busy with the other students, I exchanged looks with Josh and asked myself why he was really willing to walk such a long mile to help me out.

"Guys remember everything I said, in law we…" the female lecture said but I stopped listening.

I turned and glanced at Josh again, there was something which made him not to be like the other kids. He hardly said a word in class or even giving a simple answer, his eyes had this weird color, something like lime green and there was this sense of aggression when he held you. I liked Josh for his aggressive nature, and this time I just realized that I missed him, I missed his question and his laughter, he would sigh every time I ask a difficult question. The lecture left the class and I glanced at Josh, there was no one sitting beside him. So, I grabbed my bag and books and moved to the seat next to him. Samantha's face changed to purple when she noticed that I was sitting next to Josh.

"Hi," I greeted him.

"Hey," he replied with a smile.

I remained silent for a second.

"Look, I wanted to thank you," I said.

"For what?" he asked.

'What kind of a person is he? Is he teasing me or he's really eager to know what I am thanking him for?' I thought to myself.

"For helping me fight these bullies," I replied "even though I insisted that you back off."

"Well, it's my duty," he said "you don't need to thank me."

'What duty is he talking about?' I thought to myself.

"Duty?" I asked.

"Yeah, to fight for someone I love…"

As soon as he said "someone I love," his voice faded and I had goosebumps. My heart sank to the stomach and my mind really travelled to the future; I was ready to say I love you too Joshua Jacobs. My eyes only saw his lips move up and down but I never really heard what he was saying since I was in deep thought.

"Get of from my seat," a hand pushed me from behind "cancer looking bitch."

I turned trying to figure out who it was and oh well, it was Samantha.

"What did you call me?" I replied.

"You heard me," she gave a sinister smile.

The whole class had noticed what was really going on and they all stopped what they were doing and watched the Precious and Samantha drama unfold. Joshua pulled me by hand trying to get me away from Samantha.

"No leave me Josh," I yanked my hand away from him "Samantha, I have no idea what you want from me. And whatever it is, it has turned you into a useless coward. You're nothing but a spineless spoilt brat who's just trying impress her fake friends."

"Ooouuuhhh sh*t" the whole class gasped.

Samantha looked ashamed and couldn't believe that I was standing up for myself but her pride wouldn't let her walk away, she was now trying to get physical. As she was trying to unleash one of her vicious slaps, from out of nowhere Joshua blocked her hand. That was really quick, so quick that you would think that the guy had super powers or something.

"STOP IT!" Joshua yelled at Samantha.

"Watch you mouth when you talk to me b*tch," she pointed at me.

"Oh, now you want to slap me?" I asked "you know what let me do this."

I got on top of a desk and everybody was astonished when they saw me standing up for myself like that. Angela always said that I had inherited one of my mother's demons and I always refused but right now one of those demons was in full effect. I took out my phone and opened one of those famous naked photos and held it up so that everyone could see.

"You see these photos?" I shouted "yeah this is me, that anonymous naked girl whose photos have been circulating around the school and some of you mocked, some of you laughed and some of you felt sorry for. Yeah, it is me."

The other classes noticed that there was commotion in my class so they came and became crowded at the door of our class, it was like one of those girly fights back in high school.

"Now that I told you that it's me," I added "you're going to judge me based on these filthy photos and you don't know how they were captured and what really happened to me. Samantha and her friends will get away freely because they have powerful and influential parents while I will continue to be shamed for something I didn't even want."

Tears started falling from my eyes, I glanced at the door and Mr. Johnsons was pushing through the crowd trying to get into class.

"What's going on here?" Mr. Johnsons asked "Precious get down from that table."

"But it's okay," I ignored Mr. Johnsons "you can get away with everything but your time is coming, one day you will pay for your sins and possible burn in hell you stupid b*tch."

I jumped off the table; I grabbed my books.

"You can have your stupid seat," I said.

I pushed through the crowd walking out of the class, I wiped my eyes with the palm of my hand. I left the school and went all the way to the bus stop. Luckily, I could catch the first bus home. While I sat in the bus, I took out my journal and as always, I started jotting down the first possible thoughts that were in my head.

"It's crazy what anger does, the beautiful side of you flies away like a dove. I have no idea where that sweet side of me went, nor how I inherited one of my mother's demons but was it really a demon? It felt good that stood up against my foes but I brought humiliation upon myself. Would I stand myself if I stood on the mirror?"

The bus finally reached the destination and then I put my journal back into my bag then took out my headphones. I walked to the park, put on my headphones then sat alone on a beautiful shade that was caused by the biggest tree in the park.

I closed my eyes for a minute thinking about moments before Samantha provoked me. I had goosebumps when Josh was talking and how perfect his smile was, his voice was such a wonder. But there was something inhuman about him, his eyes looked like the eyes of a different species or maybe I was just delusional just like what everyone else was about the existence of werewolves.

I mean you can't tell me that you believe in wild dogs that could change into a human being. It was just a superstition that I wasn't even attempting to believe. My headphones were moved and when I looked up, it was Angela and Joshua who were possibly looking for me since I just stormed out of the school.

"Dummy," I said.

"I knew, I'd find you here," Angela said.

"Well, you really had me worried," Joshua said.

"I had to come here and clear my mind," I replied.

"I'll leave you guys, I have to check up on my mom," Angela said as she walked away "bye Josh."

Josh just waved at Angela then came and sat beside me. He held my shoulder and squeezed it. We exchanged looks and those lime green eyes still bothered me, I've never seen anyone with those kinds of eyes before. They were cute but they somehow bothered me.

"Why are your eyes lime green?" I asked.

"What? They are lime green?" he replied.

He looked surprised when I said that.

"Oh, yeah. I forgot that I put on contact lenses," he coughed.

"Oh okay," I replied.

Why would a person just decide to put on lime green contact lenses? I found it very strange but I decided to let it slide. I offered to do lunch for him so we left the part and went to my place where we found my mother and our neighbor drinking tea.
