Chapter 20

The search for Angela continued, we searched a few abandoned houses and there was no sign of her. I pulled up the car and Angela's mom glanced at me in her distress probably wondering why I was stopping in the middle of the road.

"Why are you stopping?" she asked.

"I need to make a phone call," I replied.

I took out my phone and called one of the most informed friends of mine, Jay. Jay, knew everything about our neighborhood, he knew who was selling drugs, he knew about all the parties and all about where the werewolves were planning to attack each day. He knew almost all the dodgy schemes in the underground world of the werewolves.

"Josh, long time my friend," he answered.

"Yeah," I replied "listen man, I need your help."

"I'm listening," he said.

"Have you heard anything about a werewolf attack party tonight?" I asked.

"I heard Isaac talk about one," he replied "but I am not sure if it tonight or what."

I hung up as soon as he finished up his sentence. The werewolf attack parties were banned by Uncle Bass because that's where werewolves always got an opportunity to attack and prey on the humans and then feast on them or even turn them into our kind. I got back into the car and still in distress, Angela's mom stared at me with her teary eyes.

"Any luck?" she asked.

"We'll find her," I replied.

I started the engine and drove away. As soon as Jay mentioned Isaac, I knew where to go and the name Isaac came with trouble. Isaac was one of the most stubborn werewolves in the kingdom, always against the law. When the report about the werewolves that are secretly turning human into violent werewolves hit my eyes, Isaac's name was already in my head. I drove to Isaac's private lodge, where he usually hosts his parties.

Approaching the place, I could hear the screams of both females and male from a distance. I parked the car at a distance for the safely of Angela's mom. She glanced at me and this time her face was filled with hopelessness, thinking that she might never see her daughter again.

"Why are you stopping?" she asked once more.

"Listen," I opened the door "I need you to lock the doors and stay here, I will be back with your daughter."

"No, I'm coming with you," she replied.

"No ma'am," I insisted "I need you to trust me and stay here, I will be back with your daughter."

She stared at me without word in her mouth and then settled on her seat. I walked to the house never bothered to change into my werewolf form because everyone in that place knew who I was. The screams intensified as I walked into the house, there was music and people screaming then some of the werewolves were just dancing and enjoying the moment like nothing was going on.

"Josh," one of the female werewolves close my way "so you decided to join the party."

Without saying a word, I pushed her out of my way and followed the human screams. Those screams finally led me to the dining wall, where there was a very large table with more than 10 humans on top. Across the table it was Isaac, standing next to him was his companion holding a butcher knife, ready to cut these humans into pieces. I looked at the table and Angela was right there and with blood on her neck, she was unconscious.

"Ladies and gentlemen," Isaac said "the king's puppet decided to join the party."

The crowd cheered as I looked around and none of them saw anything wrong with what was happening.

"Let these people go," I said.

"Or what?" he scoffed "this is a revolution, Josh; we are tired of being part of the pathetic human race. These weak, feeble creatures are supposed to be our food, we are supposed to be hunting them."

"I'm not going to say it twice," I turned and faced the crowd "all of you, listen up," I paused "if you don't get out of here, you're going to be banished into the forbidden land. Isaac here, doesn't want to go down on his own that's why he's involving all of you in this. Right now, as we speak, the king is on his way. Right now, I am giving you a chance to get the hell out of here."

"I'm getting out of here," some of the werewolves said.

Some changed into their werewolf forms and ran out of the house, everyone scattered then I was left with Isaac and his butcher friend. I turned and looked at Isaac straight in the eyes.

"And as for you," I said "all this nonsense is going to lend you back to the forbidden land, and this time you will never come back."

"You know what?" he replied "this is not over."

"It's only over when you and whoever you work for are banned from this kingdom," I replied.

Isaac and his butcher friend slowly walked away as I quickly checked all the people that were there. I untied them, some were weak, couldn't get up and some were unconscious. Angela was still unconscious and still bleeding on her neck. I made sure that all these people were taken to the werewolf health care facilities where they'd be thoroughly examined and checked if they were to become werewolves or not. I walked back to the car, leaving Angela behind with special care.

"Did you find her?" she asked.

"Yes," I replied.

"Is she alive?" she asked "where is she?"

"Ma'am, I need to tell you something," I took a deep breathe.

"What's the matter?" she asked.

"Your daughter is alive but she's no longer a human," I replied.

"What do you mean?" her voice was now shaky.

"She was bitten by a werewolf," I replied.

"Oh, gosh my baby," she started sobbing "what does this mean?"

"It means that she's moving to the werewolf kingdom for a few months," I replied "until she becomes able to control her urges, you cannot see her ma'am."

She continued to bitterly sob, I felt sad for her I mean Angela was her only daughter and the current situation was just worse for her.

"I'm so sorry ma'am," I said as I drove away.

I dropped her off at her house and rushed back to the palace. It was 12:00 AM, the time most werewolves become active. I walked into the palace and found my mom sitting in the sitting room alone probably waiting for me.

"Mom," I said.

"Son," she replied.

I ran over to her and we hugged, smalling her scent was more than just a blessing to me.

"What brings you here this time?" I asked.

"I decided to leave your dad," she replied.

"What did he do this time?" I asked.

"We'll talk tomorrow before you go to school," she brushed me on my cheek with the palm of her hand "how have you been."

"I'm okay," I replied "are you okay mom?"

She just nodded. I stood up the went to take a quick shower, after that I lied on my bed scrolling through my phone and Precious left a text as always.

"Hey, thank you very much for saving my life and taking an effort in looking for my friend, I don't know how I can express my appreciation but thank you so much. See you tomorrow, goodnight," she added two love emojis at the end.

I replied with a love emoji and then closed my eyes, what a perfect ending to a chaotic day. From the werewolf parliament to the werewolf attack part and then getting to breaking the news to Angela's mother that her daughter was no longer human. I needed a message like this one.
