Chapter 21

Precious' P.O.V

Going back to school was something else, after a week full of drama. Angela was not around and I was told that I couldn't see her because she was in coma. I woke up early in the morning and prepared for class, ready to go to campus all alone this time. School drama was another burden on my shoulders; getting to deal with Samantha was tiring, I just wanted all that drama to end, I couldn't do it anymore.

After bathing and putting my girly outfit on, I grabbed my bag, took my lunch box then kissed my mother goodbye. While in the bus putting my headphones on, listening to a song by Katy Perry, I felt someone poke me on my shoulder. I took off my headphones and looked who it was and right there Tony stood, staring at me. I'd be lying if I said this guy wasn't handsome though, his body was just perfectly chiseled.

"Can I sit?" he asked.

"Yeah, sure," I moved to the window.

"How are you?" he asked.

"I'm great, and you?" I replied.

Tony paused for a few minutes and then glanced at me.

"So how is your friend?" he asked.

"Wait, something doesn't make sense," I replied "you guys were together that night but only Angela got attacked. How is that possible?"

"I, uh," he stammered "I got lucky, I guess."

"No, Tony," I replied "what really happened the night Angela got attacked? Where did you guys go after I left the park?"

Tony gave me a nervous look and then the bus stopped for some of the passengers and to my surprise, Tony stood up without answering question.

"I have to go," he stood up.

"No wait," I said as he walked away.

Tony rushed to the door and got out of the bus before I could even stop him. Deep down I could feel that something was fishing about this new handsome looking Tony, something was just not right. I just watched him as the bus drove away. I put my headphones back on and started pressing next on my playlist, listening to songs that I knew and some I didn't really know where they came from. At this time, I knew that I was on my way to deal with the school drama that was following me. The bus stopped at the bus stop, I stood up and walked to the door saying bye to the driver.

Walking through the campus gates, some glances were literally saying here comes the drama queen but I didn't care. Today, I was all alone I mean Angela was at the hospital and I wasn't sure if Joshua would come or what. With all the weird glances and a few looks of admiration, I walked straight to my class. I found Samantha and her cronies standing at the door and I stopped hoping that they'd let me pass.

"Can I pass?" I asked.

"What did she say?" Samantha pretended not to hear me.

"She wants to cry, look at her," her cronies mocked me.

The cute receptionist saw me standing at the door, not being aware of what was happening she waved at me. I just glanced at her and never responded.

"Are you going to let me pass or I should push through you?" I replied.

"Let her pass," Samantha gave her cronies the orders.

They moved from the door and I got into class and went straight to my desk. I glanced at Joshua's desk and it was still vacant. Samantha and I continued glancing at each other, the tension between me and Samantha, was getting more intense each and every day. A few minutes later, the cute receptionist came to my class and walked straight to my desk, I glanced at her as she approached my table.

"Precious," she called me.

"Yes?" I replied.

"Mr. Johnson is calling for you," she said.

"Okay," I replied as I followed her.

Samantha kept on glancing at me and I at her, as I walked out of the class. To be honest, I was now tired of going into Mr. Johnsons' office each and every morning in this college, I was actually tired of everything in this college. I walked past the receptionist and went straight to Mr. Johnsons' office. I knocked on his door.

"It's open," Mr. Johnsons said with a shaky voice.

I slowly opened the and Joshua was sitting opposite Mr. Johnsons. I wondered why he looked terrified and sweaty.

"Josh?"

"Hey, Precious," Joshua glanced at me "Mr. Johnsons here, has got some good news for you."

"Good news?" I glanced at Mr. Johnsons who looked terrified at that moment.

"Yeah, sit down," Joshua pulled a chair for me.

I sat down and still Mr. Johnsons' eyes showed fear like he just saw a ghost, which left me wondering what Joshua did to him.

"Are you going to tell her sir?" Joshua asked Mr. Johnsons.

"Oh, y-y-yeah," Mr. Johnsons stammered "we have decided to uhm, take your case into consideration and the hearing will take place tomorrow."

"I thought you said…"

"I know," Mr. Johnsons coughed "Joshua here, showed me the brighter side. The hearing starts first thing tomorrow, someone is busy with the investigation as we speak."

"Oh, okay," I replied "can I go now?"

Mr. Johnsons nodded then both Joshua and I got out of his office. As soon as we got to the hallway I stopped and faced Joshua, he had his goofy smile on.

"What's going on with him?" I asked.

"I don't know," Joshua giggled "I found him like that when he called me to his office."

"Don't laugh," I also giggled "he looks like he's seen a ghost or something."

Joshua laughed out loud; the reception lady stared at us. I pulled Joshua by hand going through that hallway back to our class but before we even arrived there, Josh stopped me.

"Do you want to go back to class?" he asked.

"Not really," I replied "I kind of hate that history class."

"Let's get out of here," he pulled me by hand "let's go grab ice cream and watch a movie."

"No way," I stopped him "my mom is going to kill me."

"Come on," Josh insisted.

"We'll go after class," I replied "I promise."

"Okay, cool," he said "let's go to the boring history class then."

He let go of my hand and led the way back to class, I shook my head in laughter as I followed him, we got to class and I headed straight to my desk. The lecture glanced at my blushing face then turned and stared at Joshua.

"Well, look who decided to come to school today," she pointed at Joshua.

The class laughed as he mockingly spoke about Joshua's absenteeism.

"People like Joshua don't have…"

The lecture's words faded as I started replaying everything that just happened at before we got into class. My heart was beating fast when he held my hand, it felt good because he was the first boy to hold me like that. It had me asking myself, "where's Angela when you need her?" this was a moment worth sharing. If being touched by a boy that you wanted felt this good, what about that first kiss?

"BANG!" the lecture slammed on my table.

I jumped as my heart sunk deep into my stomach. The class laughed at how I reacted.

"What's going on with you and your boyfriend?" the lecture asked.

I shook my head with no answer, and then he just stared at me with a look of disappointment all over his face. He took his books from the table and looked at the whole class.

"My time is up," he breathed out "you guys need to focus, you are no longer in high school. Stop behaving like a bunch of high school animals."

He walked out of class as I glanced at Joshua. When I brought my eyes back to my desk, Samantha was right in front of me. The class froze hoping for another girly drama between me and Samantha but this time, I decided to ignore her and zipped my bag and got out of the chair with my bag.

"I despise you so much," she said.

"Okay," I shrugged as Joshua held my hand.

Those butterflies that I felt in the hallway earlier were back.

"I HATE YOU!" Samantha yelled.

"Good for you," I smirked.

"Let's get out of here," Joshua said as he pulled me by hand.

It felt good to watch Samantha getting frustrated like that, we got to Joshua's car and he drove away. I glanced at this handsome masculine boy with lime green eyes drive and that made him so attractive. I remembered Angela as I glanced at him.

"Are you the one who found Angela?" I asked.

"Uhm, yeah," he cleared his throat "why?"

"I'm just asking," I replied.

"You miss her?" he asked.

"Yeah," I said "Angela is my life, she's the only friend I had all my life and now she's in some anonymous hospital, and I can't visit her."

"She will be alright," he replied.

"Yea, I guess," I said.

There was silence for a few minutes and then Josh kissed me on the cheek, I just froze not knowing what to say or do.

"What's wrong?" he asked.

"Who gave you the permission to kiss me?" I asked.

"Relax," he said "that's just a friendly kiss."

I remained quiet as I pretended not to like that so-called friendly kiss, this was the best day of my life. After so much drama, I really needed a day like this one. I secret blushed trying to make sure that Josh doesn't see that I was actually blushing.
