Chapter 27 Burst, Lord of Doujinshi!

I remember back in my previous life when players fought this Nightmare Boss, they had a really tough time.

The design of this Nightmare Boss was extremely tricky. It would choose a character to copy within the blind spots of all team members' vision. If it was an NPC, it would copy the NPC's AI script;

if the target was a player, then after the copying was completed, all that player's speech and behavior would be replicated by the server and imitated, technically achieving a confusion rate of over 99%. Most normal players could not distinguish who was a player and who was the instance's copy.

While duplicating, it would also silently cast spells using the Dream Puppet Ability, summoning various bosses that players had previously fought. Players hadn't even figured out who the Six-Eared Macaque was, and already the BOSS illusions were howling and charging over.

And the method the players used to deal with it was even more shameless. One tactic was to go for mutual destruction, regardless of who was disguised by the Boss. Everyone would strike at the authentic and counterfeit alike, all output focused in a rapid assault, taking down both teammates and the Boss together.

This method was quite effective, yet if the Boss copied a key role such as a Healer or Main Tank, then the rest of the instance would become practically impossible to continue.

Another was the offline phone call tactic—actually calling team members' mobile numbers to ask, an utterly unsolvable tactic that even the game server's AI had no way of countering.

During the open-beta phase, players weren't familiar with these bizarre extraordinary abilities, so they could only fight shameless with shameless. But as time passed and four or five versions later, everyone became clear on the characteristics of the Mind Sequence abilities, and they were able to specifically counter them.

For instance, the "Tongue Twister" tactic Aske used was an emergency measure that came up with on the fly, knowing that the Mind Power could read his superficial memories.

After all, it's not like they could just go offline to ask.

The group continued to advance and soon arrived at the bottom of the central mountain peak on the island. Fine stone steps were laid out from the foot of the mountain, winding upwards in a circular climb, and every few dozen meters stood an Ancient Solomon-style stone archway.

In front of the first archway stood two Samurai dressed in deep blue armor, appearing to be human. Their eyes were tightly shut, as if they were deeply lost in meditation. Their armor was adorned with various mysterious runes, and the longswords or sabers at their waists shone with an ominous blue light, suggesting they were not ordinary weapons.

"Sleeping Warriors of Dream Heaven," Aske said through the communication channel. "These samurai have their eyes shut tight, their consciousness constantly in a state of sleep, controlled by a manipulator behind the scenes. Yet, they can observe the outside world through Mind Vision, so the boss behind the scenes has probably already noticed us."

"Since they've noticed us, why don't they attack?" Eleanor asked.

"Because their mission is to defend the first archway," Aske said with a smile. "If they had the authority to attack proactively, we could just lure them away with one person, and the rest of us could waltz up the mountain."

"So how do we fight?" Peggy asked.

"Simple," Aske replied. "Eleanor goes first, using the 'Dragon Spear' to pierce through one enemy, then throw him back to us. Me, Peggy, and Medea will focus our fire to quickly take down the grounded one, while Eleanor keeps the other one busy."

"There's another problem." He thought for a moment and then added, "Once we kill these two enemies, it will alarm the enemies on the mountain, and they may continuously send samurai down. If we engage in battle on the narrow mountain path, there's a great risk of falling off the cliff. If we slip down the mountainside, we would likely lose half our lives, even if not fatal, and it would also cause a break in the team's cohesion."

"Therefore, we absolutely cannot get entangled with the enemies. Since there are far more enemies than us, even if they launch kamikaze attacks, grappling us and jumping off the cliff one-on-one would be quite tricky for us. Hence, we need a rapid assault output and push forcefully all the way to the summit."

"M-hm, m-hm," the girls nodded. So the question arose, how to execute this rapid assault output?

"Which brings us back to that issue, our output efficiency is insufficient," Aske said seriously, looking at Medea. "To carry out this tactic perfectly, we have to rely on you. Go berserk, King of Manuscripts!"

Medea: ???

"You mean, rely on me?" she frowned.

"See, don't you have male fear-induced power? Touching a man causes your flame ability to burst," Aske said. "I'll touch you first, then you go into a berserk state and charge up the mountain, wildly throwing fireballs ahead. Whatever the enemy is on the mountain, if they are more than three steps away, you will bombard them with fireballs; when they've lost enough HP and come within three steps, we'll go up and finish them off."

"I don't think that's a good idea," Medea shook her head. "In the so-called 'berserk' state, I have extreme animosity toward all males. I might lose control and, despite the risk of violating the contract, decide to take you down first, you smelly man."

"What if I stay out of your sight?" Aske pondered. "I'll hide behind you, not enter your visual field, and also remain silent the whole time while keeping up shooting with my handgun?"

"I could try to pretend you don't exist," Medea nodded. "Let's give it a shot."

"How long can you stay in berserk mode?" Aske confirmed.

"About five minutes," Medea felt very strange. Because in the court of the patriarchal Seljuk Empire, people there were disgusted with her uncontrolled hatred of men; even the eunuchs dared not appear in her sightline. Her own father was quite dissatisfied with this as well, and she wasn't even invited to court banquets.

How come on Aske's side, losing control of one's abilities has instead become a form of excellent combat technique?

"After five minutes, if there are no males in my sight, I can calm down and end the loss of control," Medea said with a frown, "If it exceeds 5 minutes, my spirituality will suffer damage; if it exceeds 20 minutes, my mind will be at permanent and irreversible risk of losing control."

"Within 20 minutes, huh? That should be enough," Aske nodded.

"Can't you calculate it by 5 minutes?" Seeing the other party directly estimating it by 20 minutes, Medea nearly burst into tears, "If the loss of control exceeds 10 minutes, I'll have to lie in bed afterwards and not get up! That's a serious injury!"

"5 minutes, huh? We'll just have to speed up and charge ahead. If we're fast enough, we can still get to the mountaintop in advance," Aske pondered, "There's no avoiding male NPCs in the BOSS fight, we'll see if we can kill them swiftly. If not, just close your eyes and use your Mind Power to hypnotize yourself to end the loss of control, pretending that the males around you don't exist."

"Mm," Medea mumbled.

"Let's do it this way then," Aske decided, "In the upcoming battle formation, Peggy and Eleanor will take position number one, Nora number two, Medea number three, and I'll stand at the back. If we encounter enemies, Medea, you'll start by wildly throwing your uncontrolled Fireballs, and if they get in close, Eleanor will use the Dragon Spear to grab and slam the enemies to the ground, while Peggy and I focus fire. Any questions?"

"No," the girls all shook their heads.

"Then let's go," Aske said, "Medea, I'll give you a buff."

"Just to remind you," Medea said, "No matter where you touch me on my body, within one second, flames with temperatures above 1000 degrees will begin to rise from the surface of my skin. If your Evasion isn't quick enough, you could be seriously burned."

"Understood, then please close your eyes," Aske instructed, "Everyone else, move further away."

The three ladies hastily moved away. Medea closed her eyes, wondering what Aske was about to do, then heard him say something in her ear:

"My apologies."

Slap! A loud slap echoed as it landed on her face. Medea's eyes flew open, and at first, the outrage of being humiliated surged up, but then a more profound and complicated emotion quickly overtook her.

Panic, fear, loathing, rejection, malice, and a powerful hostility.

The touch of a male palm lingered on her delicate facial skin, and images of her mother and three male slaves surfaced before her eyes again—the filthy, dirty scenes filled with a sense of immorality, nearly triggering a visceral urge to vomit.

Her heartfelt Flames blazed fervently, her chest felt as if it had become a massive furnace, with her fiery blood churning and spreading like magma beneath the surface, eager to erupt and purify the whole world in flames.

Having delivered the slap, Aske quickly dodged and moved behind her. Medea's body slowly levitated, with flames violently erupting from the myriads of pores on her skin, nearly burning her into a pillar of fire. Her wine-red hair fluttered amongst the sparks; the long horns of an Enchanting Demon stood out on her forehead; and in her pupils burned an exceptionally fierce and raging flame.

"That damned... swine! Where are you!!!" Medea roared furiously from within the flames, each breath carrying the heat of burning air.

"Over there!" Eleanor promptly pointed at two Sleeping Warriors ahead, afraid that Medea would turn around and attack Aske.

"Die, you swine!" Medea fought the urge to turn and lash out as she conjured two red Fireballs and fiercely hurled them forward. The Sleeping Warriors turned their heads, but before they could react, they were engulfed by the roaring flames.

"(Seljuk dialect) Die, die, die, you swine!" Medea started to spout gibberish, cursing in her native tongue as Fireballs continued to smash forward relentlessly.

The two Sleeping Warriors attempted to advance towards them but were first scorched, singeing hair and eyelashes, then the Runes on their armors provided defense that completely failed against the high temperature, and more Fireballs bombarded from above, like a barrage of hundred rockets scouring the ground, kicking up a lot of smoke and dust.

When the smoke cleared, the figures of the two Sleeping Warriors were gone, leaving only two charred, twisted carcasses on the scorched ground.

"(Devil language) There are more! Other swine!" Medea shouted obscenities in Devil language, clearly beginning to lose her Sanity. Nora also reacted, quickly pointing ahead:

"More men on the mountain!"

"Don't mention that filthy word in my presence!" Medea screamed furiously, with Eleanor and Nora feeling the hot wind in their faces, almost being smoked dry. When they regained their senses, they saw Medea, engulfed in flames, charging up the mountain, looking as majestic as a Flame Demon.

"Wait, we haven't set up our formation yet!" Eleanor and the others hurriedly chased after her. Aske watched from behind, feeling that the performance of the character king in the past life forum was definitely underestimated.

This wasn't just any ordinary Burst; it was like a god descending to Earth! The power of a rocket launcher barrage couldn't be any more than this!

He called out to Peggy, and the two also immediately followed in pursuit.
