Becoming A Mangaka

Waking up from his nap, Zoro quickly gets of the subway and heads toward Musutafu for his very first meeting with this universes version of Shonen jump. 2 years had come quickly while he was writing and drawing his manga. The first time he showed his grandmother his self made portrait of them both surrounded by blooming Sakura trees, she teared up. Not because it was so amazing but because she didn't have many pictures of zoro.

They were very poor compared to city people so they could only afford one or two luxuries, luckily those luxuries where a phone and laptop otherwise becoming a mangaka would take alot longer. He was not very suprised to see that manga consisted of bland hero stories with no variety. He was especially happy to have found that there was a shounen jump, regardless if it was popular or not. Luckily for him he called at the perfect time, supposedly they are having a hard time selling manga because of the lack of good series, and people just don't like straight hero stuff as much.

He hadn't wasted 2 years of training just to not make it. He had finished the entire one piece series even though it wasn't completed in his last universe. It was just as good , and it'll only go on for about 10 years instead of the originals 25 years. He hated that they wouldn't hurry up and finish it before the author died suddenly or something equally as crazy. He hadn't been just doing one piece though, he chose the most interesting manga he liked and finished 4 series.

He ended up choosing Highschool dxd, Naruto , one piece, and food wars. He mainly kept Naruto the same except for less talk no jutsu. He went all in with highschool dxd! He made issei a better character and put sex in it. It was a full on dojunshin with a good plot. One Piece was the same for the most part except he added more scense of himself so everybody would recognize him later on. He fully learned to cook from his granny just for food wars, he wanted to make sure that some of the food was actually possible to make! He even added the real recipes to a website full of his drawings and other miscellaneous things.

After 2 years of constant drawing he has made a name for himself In the literature genre. Using a pen name he had quickly published the harry potter, lord of the rings, and percy jackson books. They were catching on but it wouldn't be for another year or so to see if it flops or not. He wasn't worried though, once it picks up it'll be a hit for sure.

Finally arriving at the publication studio he went in and sat in the reception area. Watching people walk in with stars in there eyes and instantly come back out with tears, he couldn't help but think that the people of this world were unimaginative. Even with superpowers they didn't take advantage of what could've been had they worked towards their goal full throttle. He was lazy most of the time but he knew when to work hard and when to chill out.

After waiting 10 minutes he heard his name being called by the secretary "Mr.Roronoa, Mr. Yamanaka will see you now." Walking to the doorway he paused long enough to the the secretary before stepping in. Sitting behind a desk was a middle aged man with grey hair and kind eyes. He looked to be about 5"11 while he was wearing a deep blue suit.

Standing up he stepped for before shaking hands with zoro. Upon shaking hands Mr. Yamanaka starts with "It,s a pleasure to meet you Mr.Roronoa. I Before I even look at your art portfolio and script I will give you the pay and the expectations we have for you. I'm doing this because It's easier for you decide if it's even worth it. I don't want to waste both our time so I wil get right to it. The pay will be 275$ per page while we expect three things for you to follow. The first is that you not be a villan. The second is for you to take your job seriously while here The final thing is that we need you to give it everything you got, even if it's something different than the norm. We don't want you to restrict yourself to only one type of genre. If you have an idea and present it well, we will do our best to get you what you need." he finished with a serious face.

He has been in the industry for years at this point and he knows that it's going downhill. He was already going to hire zoro anyway because of his great art and also because of his demeanor. He could see it the moment zoro walked in. This guy is serious about the job. Shonen Jump might be on the decline but that doesn't mean he can't turn it around with a little marketing. Nobody has made anything new so there's nothing to market! From the artwork he's seen, zoro was basically hired the moment he entered the building.

Taking a second to think Zoro answers just as seriously "Deal, but on the corner of my published manga I want my grandmother to be my mascot. She'll have a panel where she will write something heartwarming to attract people. I also want full control over my brand. If an anime comes out I want a cut and be able to push where it should go. I'm not ruining my brand just because a couple of studios wanted changes made. I will in return give you 35% of all royalties I make. If I contribute enough, I want a couple shares of Shonen Jump. Take it or leave it." His eyes seem to glow purple as he looked into Mr.Yamanakas eyes.

Yamanaka Thought that this was a great deal. He said yes immediately and had Zoro sit down. He asks for the scripts and portfolio before looking into it. The first script he chose was food wars.

Reading through thee first 2 chapters, his eyes widen as he's completely stunned. This is the greatest manga he read in a long while. The fan service mixed with the knowledgeable food tips was amazing! This would make an obscene amount of money if those tips were true.

He quickly looked through the other scripts becoming stupefied once more. The highschool dxd was even better. Even the sex scense were amazing. Naruto was also fantastic! The emotions! You feel the same emotion as the characters! The battles were even crazier! He finally got to the most important one!

Titled one piece in bold letters, it's not the name that attracts him. It's that the mangaka made himself a character! A main character at that! Even his power is clearly displayed inside! If even a little bit of this stuff is true then he'd be better suited to be a hero!! he finally stops reading and says "You've got a deal, now all that's left to do is your paperwork and your free to go!" finishing with a bright smile and a handshake.
