Chapter Eighteen - Realization (4)

At The Study Chamber

In The Flintstones' Mansion

Drawn back from his daze by the unserious tiff that broke out between Uncle Eugene and Auntie Magenta, he stood up and strolled to the open windows that were leftwards to him. He was probably thinking about something important…or rather something stole his attention. He was so engrossed in his thoughts that he didn't even know when it was lunchtime. If not for the guard that stood by him and alerted of what the time was, he would have been standing there like a statue for God alone knows how long.

"Young Sir, its lunchtime already and Lady Magenta is calling for you. She said that your meal will get cold if you don't come down to the dinner room early. I asked about the meal and it turns out to be your favorite dish that was prepared personally by the head chef." The nice-looking bloke blurted out. Auntie Magenta must have ordered him to say such appealing words to Jayden, the young sir. Such wily woman! A very nice woman on the outer but then again a deadly viper on the inside.

Pulled back from his mesmerizing daze, the guard took off the young sir's shoes from his feet and helped him into the new pair of slippers Uncle Eugene bought for him the previous week. He had changed into a more comfortable outfit and rushed downstairs to see the Auntie Magenta who suddenly cared for him. He just went there to avoid getting himself matted with his relatives' wrath or he could just ask the maidservants to get his lunch over to his chambers. He just lost his appetite and being in the midst of the irritating relatives were certainly what he never planned for.

"O…M…G…! Is this really Jayden or am I seeing things? Am I hallucinating? I think I need a doctor, I should book an appointment with Doctor Cedric but Bennett, you look unrecognizable…I mean…unrecognizably handsome. I still can't believe that this is the Jayden I carried then in my arms! You look very outstanding tho..." The energetic woman who was in her early forties cheered out. She was such an extrovert who didn't even know how to control the words that left her mouth. She ran to cuddle him but seeing that Jayden wasn't in the mood for such childish pleasantries.

"You're now a matured boy…look at those biceps and muscles of yours. I could still remember when you were a baby, you had such dreamy blue eyes that could keep anyone in daze forever. I was your personal babysitter then, in fact I was the first person who witnessed the first word you spoke and that was…*scratches her hair*…"

"C'mon Auntie, let's just eat. I'm so famished right now, chatting can wait later." Michaela, one of the beautiful twins complained. She was very hungry indeed and even her grumbling yet empty belly could testify to that.

The lady could see the displeasure etched on their faces so she led the way to the dinner room. While taking them to the dinner room, she reminded them how she used to buy candies and toffees for them when they were little, in fact, as small as two years old. How could she expect them to remember something that happened over a decade ago?

Finally, they were at the dinner room. Jayden's parents were all waiting for them even Uncle Eugene who happened to be her stepbrother was there shooting every dirty look at her but the old miss waved it off and smiled all the way. She was so excited, only the immortals knew why such a live-wire like her was beaming because she could cause a spark and end up getting everything burned. She was definitely up to no good.

Intervals of minutes passed by and everyone was eating happily except for Auntie Magenta and the young sir. Jayden could not eat and he was lost in his thoughts so he could not feel the probing looks from the old miss that was sitting close to the twins. And in no time, the air in the dinner room changed from calm to chilling. The twins who were eating suddenly stopped what they were doing as they sensed the changed atmosphere. The guards and maidservants who were waiting for further instructions from their masters felt it too and goosebumps rained on them.

Then another young woman who had an ambience of high-quality spoke to the lost dude. "Bennett darling, why haven't you touched your food?"

"Yeah. You've just been so off and squiggling indescribable figures on your plate. If you don't like the meal, then I'll tell Chef Ivan and Chef Karla to prepare something very special for you." Uncle Eugene said dotingly. Everyone loved Jayden so much and they doted on him always.

Jayden snapped out from his daze and looked at the duo. They had worry etched on their faces as they observed him. "Mom…Uncle Gene…I'm very fine but I've lost appetite. I don't feel like taking or eating anything for now."

"Huh? That's strange?! Big bro, you've always loved taking…" Mackenzie argued but Jayden was quick to counter and leave.

Jayden stood and emitted his gentleman-like ambience and said, "Mom…dad, auntie and Uncle Gene…and my lovely twin sisters, I'd like to have some time to myself or just take a little nap to stabilize my muddled brain." With this, he dashed towards upstairs with two hefty guards following him. This meant that he had something very serious going on and would not like to be disturbed by his family members especially Auntie Magenta. He might either be in his bedroom or back to his private study chamber.

He took the two hefty guards that were guarding the stairway to the upper rooms. He made eye contacts with them and they followed him to his study chamber, stood at the entrance of the chamber while they crisscrossed the pointy spears in their hands. Of course, they were no smiles on their faces at all but stern appearance to scare away unwanted visitors.
