Chapter Thirty-Four — Comatose For More Than Three Months

Back At The Ballroom

In Skye Evander High School

After the nattering of the students, Jayden shuffled to a corner where no one would disturb him. He was extremely tired and so down after the hectic show he pulled up back there in the stage. He remembered the exact words those students said about Jemima and her splendor. He felt so green with envy and red with anger. His torrid veins were bulging and his expression radiating intense fury. In order to cool off his sweltering head, he stamped to the unused exit of the ballroom.

While he was stamping like an angry troll who wanted to go on a rampage, he heard cracked voices and it was familiar. The cracked voices came from the restroom used by the female students. And it was coming from a walkie-talkie.

"Help me!" The walkie-talkie cried out. The voice crusted in fright and frenzy fear. "Help me! I'm in such deep agony!"

Jayden who stood at his spot with a dumbfounded mien couldn't help but twitch his lips in doubt. What if it was a prank set by those ridiculous mischief-makers he called schoolmates? Or was it real? How would he know the answers to the questions if he didn't go there and find out what it was?

As he was about to take a step to enter the female restroom, his phone rang. Golly! And the caller was VINCE! Why the hell was he calling now? At such a dire moment.

Jayden turned around to answer Vince, his very best friend. He rambled to the quiet assemblage hall where no one would see him or overhear his discussion with Vince.

At The Olden Rosette Street

In Evander

Kitty and Dawn could be seen stepping down from a tarnished but chic car.

"Mission accomplished!" Kitty screamed excitedly. "Finally made it here in four minutes and fifty-nine seconds…" she spelled out very slowly as she stared at her stopwatch. She was indeed boasting of Mr. Lucian's capabilities with just that statement but Dawn could only pout her cutie lips in sarcasm.

"Ha?! When he almost ran into a HGV…thank luck for that red light, if not…we'd have been crushed to paste by that unruly HGV…" Dawn spluttered when she realized that Kitty had gone a bit far and Mr. Lucian had driven away.

"Seriously?!" She face palmed herself and jogged to meet with Kitty.

Back At The Basement

In The Sinclaires' Mansion

Desha who was still holding the paper reports stood there dumbfounded. The glass cup of chilled juice that one of her underlings brought for her fell on the slick floor and made shattering noises. Numerous eyes craned to see Desha as her expression squealed of absolute amazement and shock.

Desha jolted back to reality when Jemima roared again in torment. As she kept roaring, that uncontrollable surge of anger in her rose to a very irrepressible level. As a result of that, the thousands of underlings in the basement were affected negatively by her flare-up.

Some were lying dead on the floor, some were vomiting blood, some were injured seriously and very few survived it. The few that survived were not even up to the half of quarter of the total number of the underlings.

Jemima was no longer herself, she was very different from her chirpy expression and the air surrounding her was now overpowering. Her purple eyes bombed brighter than fire and her fair skin also shone, close to as blinding as the sun and her ash blonde hair waltzed belligerently in the thick air.

"You dare touch the untouchable! For this, you'll pay with your lives of little or no worth." Jemima's voice reverberated like a squillion whispers. She chuckled and swayed her slender fingers in the air as if she was scribbling something.

As she was swaying her slender fingers, mystic flickers gushed from her fingers and the flickers collected together to form something extremely dangerous.

"Ha-ha?! See who's talking? A girl that was given birth to yesterday is now talking to her elders like that." A growl was heard amidst the large crowd. "You rude but holy terror really have greedy guts but do you know the sad truth? People like you end up as the sweetest meat in my boiling soup?" He grinned hungrily.

And of course, Desha's underlings were omnivorous in nature so they both ate flesh and plants but Desha was totally different from them because she was half-blooded. Her mother was a very weak mortal so that was why Desha was picky eater.

"Phineas, you're right. It's just because she assembled very tiny powers and she wants to flaunt it." Another underling supported the one who recently talked. "Doesn't she know that we're way older than her entire genealogy from the start? Surely, she'll end up in your boiling soup and I can't wait to have a share" She laughed defiantly.

"That's why I like you, Elodia. You're so smooth but shrewd." Phineas exulted. "I'll give you the largest portion of my meal once that spawn of a bitch ends up in my…" He was interrupted by a burst of blood.

"What just happened?" Elodia was heard right after Phineas, the one who growled was dead. His head was smashed to the wall by an invisible force but then again an unfathomable force burnt his body. Elodia juddered and her knees couldn't get hold any longer so she fell on the floor.

Angry growls was heard amongst the underlings especially the male ones. The female ones could only shudder in fear as two or three of them passed out from the shock.

It has never been in history that omnivorous underlings were burnt to death but Jemima made it possible. Omnivorous underlings were seen as the most powerful after the carnivorous, insectivorous and herbivorous ones. This was because they were seen as the one who drew extensive powers from both plants and animals while consuming them other than those who have single source of extensive powers.

"What a nippy death! I wish I could torment you all just as you all did to me in the past." Jemima snapped with her voice vibrating like an innumerable whispers and she giggled. She waved her hand casually and smiled.

"A life for a life! Blood for blood! This is just the starting point, the battle line have not been drawn. And when it does, there will be butchery, human slaughter, the enthralling air of blood will linger and scene of carnage will follow suit."

With that, all the omnivores went kaput and died. They coughed out blood and pus and gradually died. After that, Jemima giggled again with a spooky appearance etched on her face.

Desha was fossilized by what Jemima said. Was Jemima implying that there will be another great war in the future? Blimey! She needed to inform Kaliope about that and very fast.

The pressure of excessive power was too much on Jemima and hence she passed out after the underlings died. When she dropped half-dead on the floor, the basement vibrated violently and it was like never before.

"She is indeed not ordinary. What kinda bitch is she? Wish I could suck up those powers but my body will break down." Desha trembled as she gawked at the dead bodies on the floor. The slick floor was now covered with garden-fresh blood. And the thick air was reeking of sickly sweet massacre.

Involuntarily, Desha touched the half-broken golden locket that was strung onto a golden woven chain on her neck.

Black embers radiated from the locket and Desha was astounded by all that. She remembered the instruction given to her by Kaliope.

"You can use this to talk to me. Just rub it and talk to it, I can hear you from here and vice-versa."

Desha was scared stiff at the moment. "Gosh! Guess what, Lady Kismet?! That Jemima girl exploded and her powers outburst was a real gore! She killed all my underlings with ease…"

"Did she pass out?" The cold voice interrupted.

"Yes. She blacked out and fell near her friends." Desha replied as her uneasiness was slightly alleviated. She gawked at Jemima and saw her near her unconscious friends and she snuffled in anger.

Kaliope Doom giggled and that scared Desha. "She'll be in coma for a month. Before then, there'll be no return for her back to the world of the living."

"Huh?!" Desha hummed with a sense of confusion. "For a month? That's too long. I wanna torture her with my hands."

"I'll try and see what I can do…hmmm…" She thought deeply. "What if you torture her soul because her body will be lifeless but her soul will still live on and that makes her half-dead…?"

"Okie-Dokie!" Desha responded. "So when are you going to get her because I can't stand her repulsiveness. She killed my underlings! Omnivorous underlings for that matter so it's not funny!"

"That's so serious!" Kaliope hummed. "I never expected her to be that powerful, you know…omnivorous underlings have more than one source of extensive powers. Killing omnivorous underlings take so much power and energy, I guess that's why she passed out. In fact, she'll be comatose for three months…I'm just guesstimating because when I killed one thousand omnivorous underlings, I was comatose for three months and few weeks.

Killing more than a thousand omnivorous underlings isn't a day's job but that asshole made it possible. Do you know it took me more than six months to kill one thousand underlings but that Jemima girl killed more than one thousand within a day? In fact, she'll be comatose for more than three months." Kaliope elucidated with grit engraved in her canary-like voice.

"Every so often, I wonder if Jemima is more powerful than you." Desha ridiculed. "Uh huh?!"

Kaliope laughed and warned sternly, "Shut the fuck up you scornful fuckhead!"

With that, the communication was terminated and the black embers that radiated died down immediately.

"Hmph!" Desha rolled her eyes with a scoff and strolled to where Jemima laid. The entire basement was in a mess. Blood splashed on the slick floor and the rancid air died down a bit. Finally, she could take clean breaths with her two nostrils.

"Huh?!" Desha stood with shock emitting from her. "I forgot to tell her that Jemima implied about a great war that will happen in future. Life for life and blood for blood and yadda…yadda…yadda…. I'll tell Ashe later, I guess Kaliope Doom, 'the most powerful sorceress' won't answer me now that I poked fun at her…and whatnot…" she blubbered.
