Chapter Thirty-Five — Dawn Escapes Finally!

‣‣AT THE BASEMENT

‣IN THE SINCLAIRE'S MANSION

"Huh?!" Desha stood with shock emitting from her. "I forgot to tell her that Jemima implied about a great war that will happen in future. Life for life and blood for blood and yadda…yadda…yadda…. I'll tell Ashe later, I guess Kaliope Doom, 'the most powerful sorceress' won't answer me now that I poked fun at her…and whatnot…" she blubbered.

"We're here…" A catlike voice pierced through and Desha turned around to see who it was. It was Kitty standing firm and Dawn almost running to her, gasping for breath.

Desha's face contorted with anger.

"You guys are damn late! How dare you keep your boss waiting…? Huh?"

"Jeepers-Creepers! What the heck happened here? Why are your underlings dead? Did a fight a deluge or war? Who the fuck did this?"

Desha smirked and searched lazily for the porphyry-hued velvety-like chaise lounge nearby. There was a dead body of an underling lifelessly, it was Kyra but Desha pushed it away like it was junk and sat majestically on the chaise lounge.

"Who do you think did this?" Desha asked as if she was asking a rhetoric but their forthcoming reply shocked her.

"Where are those cutie triplets?" Kitty enquired as her eyes searched the nooks and corners of the basement. She had once suspected the Teacube Triplets when they were planning about kidnapping Jemima and her friends.

Desha smirked again.

"I settled them. It's just remaining you girls and I'm done."

"Oh!" The Sunset Flirts muttered at the same time.

"Did those spoiled brats do these? Don't tell me that you cut their lives short and sent them straightaway to hades." Kitty asked again with terror glazing her feline voice and goose bumps drizzling on her. Desha was shocked to hear this but she was pleased for a moment. Her lips twitched.

"Of course I did." She answered honestly and the Sunset Flirts gasped in fright. They thought that the Teacube Triplets killed Desha's underlings and that was why she killed them. "But they did not kill my underlings, the Jemima Bitch did."

It was now the turn for the Sunset Flirts to be shocked.

"Oh boy!" Dawn muttered as if she sensed what Desha wanted to do. She subconsciously took three steps backward and boom! Desha brought out a blood-spattered dagger from its scabbard. The edges glowered with ferocity and blood-thirst and it smelt of fresh blood from the triplets. It was not long that she killed the Triplets.

Of course Desha killed the Teacube Triplets. She didn't want any form of disturbance in the future so that was why she allowed the Triplets and the Flirts to come up with their own plans to kidnap Jemima but her! Desha actually had an underground strategy.

Desha could kidnap Jemima and her clique solitarily but that would take a lot of time and critical thinking so she planned to use the triplets and the flirts and then wipe them away from existence after their business deal was successful.

She was the one that detected and concealed the underground passageway the Flirts were supposed to use for escape. She did that to put them at a tight corner so that she would force them over to the basement and kill them. She knew that the Flirts had the chance to run away and then later in future demand money so that they would not spill the secret.

"Holy Moly!" Dawn said with trembling lips. "Do…do Mr. Lucian know about…t-this?" She stammered and Desha smiled sheepishly. Kitty was broken down.

"Hmph! I hate that fuckwit! He deceived us and made away with it." Kitty cried bitterly. "I can't just believe that I ended up cajoling myself to my very end."

"We are not at our end, we'll still escape, okay?" Dawn patted Kitty.

Desha was amused by the sisterly scene she saw.

"Uh-huh! Mr. Chauffeur was the one that brought about the idea to bring you delusional dipsticks over. It was very nice doing sweet business with you…so say hello to grannie!" Desha laughed and plunged the dagger at Kitty's rib. Kitty was the closest to her.

Dawn froze with shock. She stood still as she watched Kitty collapse lifelessly on the bloody floor. Blood oozed out freely from her rib and there Kitty took her very last breath before her.

Kitty was her very first and only friend till date. Kitty was like a sister to her because they both had that sisterly bond and treated themselves like they were biological sisters but now Kitty's a goner.

Before Kitty died, she smiled at Dawn. Images of their blissful moments together flashed in Dawn's muddled mind and she smiled back.

After a while of consoling herself, fury brewed up in her but deep pain surpassed it. As long as she stared at the lifeless Kitty, the pain was winning over anger. She consoled herself again, wiping away the swelteringly bitter tears from her cheeks. She was going to avenge for her friend but first she needed a plan – a very complex but easygoing plan that would put Desha under her.

The only idea in her mind was to run away from her and come back equipped with a good plan. There was only one exit in the basement and she was few meters away from the exit with Desha as the blockade.

Using her eyes and brain to calculate her escape from there, she didn't see when Desha was trying to stab her with the dagger. Desha was using her eyesight to control the direction of the dagger.

Of course, Desha has powers but she has been too lazy to harness and enhance her powers very well so she only knew how to do simple but powerful things.

Desha's plan to kill Dawn was totally ruined when a sylphlike creature pushed Dawn straightaway to the door. Desha was distracted and the flying dagger fell on the bloody floor. Dawn's senses returned and she saw the shaky dagger right at her feet and then saw Desha's distorted face facing towards the wall. Desha was obviously red with anger but Dawn didn't see the sylphlike creature at all.

"What just happened?" Dawn asked herself. And the idea to run away rang back to her mind. She was already at the door so she just sneaked away and ran for her life.

The anger amassing in Desha didn't allow her to relax for a second. She had just lost her target because somebody pushed Dawn away and she was distracted by it.

"Who dare push that bitch away?" Desha's voice echoed in the basement and she turned around to see the walking sylphlike creature. Desha's angry face was now splashed with shock.

"What the heck are you doing here?" Desha asked, forgetting her intention to wipe out that person that pushed Dawn to the door.

Kaliope Doom teased with an unfeeling tone.

"Nothing! Surprised to see me?! Sigh…Actually, I came to see things for myself but I guess that things are far worse than I imagined."

"Sure! And before you asked me who kill…" Desha was interrupted by Kaliope.

Kaliope scoffed and she chuckled.

"I know that Jemima killed your underlings but where exactly is she? I want to see her with my own eyes. I don't just trust such unplumbed creature like her." She explained as she stared at the corpses in the basement.

"Over there with her friends." Desha pointed to a corner. There were four girls lying sloppily on the gory floor.

Kaliope sauntered to where the girls were and she squatted to get a closer view of the girls.

Even though Jemima was lying there comatose, there was a strong and sensitive force around her and it could be sensed by people with good discerning abilities or people with extraordinary capabilities.

The shocked Desha couldn't wait and she meandered to where Kaliope was. The countenance on Kaliope's face didn't tell well at all.

"What do you think is best for now? Keep her here or bring her over to your château? She has caused enough damages so I…"

"Bring her over to my château. I would like to know how powerful this girls is and what gives her so much power that is too overriding yet she can wield it and not be crushed by it." Kaliope suggested and Desha nodded compliantly with a grin on her face.

Desha wanted to say something but she ended up suppressing it. After all, Kaliope was the oldest and most powerful sorceress so the little unimportant info she wanted to lend out was nothing at all.

"And of course, she doesn't know that she has this power so that makes it our advantage. The power takes her unaware…what I mean is that she isn't herself anytime this power comes on her." Kaliope chipped in and that was what Desha wanted to say but ended up suppressing it.

With that, Desha nodded and left. It's been long since she communicated with Bitsy and Alyse, a call to them would suffice though.
