Chapter Twelve: Caught You

Dray Sat on a chair in his room. He was lost in thought and had been feeling guilty since he had gotten Nephenia unconscious.

He kept drifting in and out of thought as he had different flashbacks of the past.

" I promise I won't hurt you again Little Sis" he said amid his thoughts

A little boy around the age of Seven was seen hiding behind a tree, his lips curving upwards as he smirked.

'This is the best hideout to catch her unexpectedly' he thought as he stood straight hands by his side forming one with the tree.

Not quite long, a young girl who was much more younger than him walked past the tree oblivious of the boy who had been hiding behind the tree.

As far walked passed the tree a bit, the boy who had seen her had came out of his hiding.

" Caught You!" he shouted smiling

Her eyes opened wide in surprise and then she smiled slightly.

" Not yet Dray " She replied and then ran away.

Little Dray ran after her and she increased her pace.

She had quick legs and Little Dray was finding it difficult to catch up with her.

Soon he began panting, looking around he knew they were far away from home and was losing hope on catching her.

He had wanted to call to her and tell her they need to get home when.....

Thud...

She had fallen to the ground.

' ah.....the Hare has fallen' he smirked decreasing his pace and walked towards where she laid facing the ground.

" Caught you....again" he said smiling as he stood towering above her.

" Stand up now let's go.....we are really far from home now" he continued looking around.

Although this area was familiar to him, he knew he wasn't meant to be this far from him especially with his sister.

" Nephenia..." nudging her to stand up so they could go home

" Let's go now it's getting...."

' What's Wrong?'

Scared that something might be wrong, he got closer to her and turned her back towards him.

He gasped

" What...happened to you?" he asked rhetorically in shock.

While Nephenia was running, she had fell to the ground on impact due to her speed and that had caused her to hit her head on the ground making her unconscious.

' what do I do now?'

Dray sat on the floor not knowing what to do, even if he had an idea he wouldn't be able to do anything.

He was just a small boy who was playing tag with his adamant younger sister, who never accepts defeat.

' I can't do anything....but atleast I can take her home ' he thought.

Dray stood up immediately and crouched to carry Little Nephenia.

' So little with less weight' he thought chuckling and had stopped remembering the situation he was in.

On the road, a little boy could be seen carrying a younger boy on his shoulder with a worry etched on his face.

Meanwhile....

" Have you seen any of them" A young woman asked worriedly facing a man.

The man nodded.

" Where could they be?"

" Anywhere...but I know they'll find their way home"

" What if something had happened to them?" She asked

The man walked closer to her and held her in his embrace.

" They will be home soon okay, I am pretty sure they're fine Serena" The man said

" I am scared Daryc....Dray has never been this...this late "

"What if...what if something had happened to them" She said shakily.

Holding his wife in his arms, he had no idea what might have happened to his children. Daryc could feel fear seeping in, but he knew better than to show it.

He looked up ahead in the night hoping they were fine and would be home soon. He had thought of going out in search of them but had decided to wait a little.

He couldn't leave his wife who was already broken in this manner.

He patted her head as he looked up ahead waiting for any sign of their arrival.

" Don't worry I promise you..." he stopped talking

" Wait...What's that?" he asked

" What?" Serena asked looking up.

" I saw something move" Daryc replied

" Wait here, while I go check" he continued

" No i am coming with you" She said

" Hmmm Okay"

They both walked on slowly.

Since the moon was out, everywhere was still bright and due to their job they weren't scared as they walked.

" Wait I see it too"

" Seems like someone is coming our way...but they seem small" Daryc replied

" Let's wait here and see who they are, you know we need to be careful " Daryc continued.

" That's Dray....." Serena exclaimed

" Are you sure, if it's Dray then where is...."

" That's Dray and he's carrying something...no Someone....."

Serena had interrupted him, she seemed to have better vision than Daryc.

" Nephenia " Daryc interrupted.

" Oh No"

Serena ran towards the direction where Dray was coming from.

" What's happened " She asked as she got closer to him.

" She fell down and had become unconscious " Dray replied exhaustingly.

Serena carried Nephenia off Dray's Shoulder and hurried into the house.

Dray had used his last strength to carry Nephenia home.

As soon as she was lifted off his shoulder, he became lightweight and felt himself falling to the ground.

But Luckily for him Daryc was there to prevent him from falling.

" You must be tired " Daryc said carrying him in his arms.

Dray nodded exhaustingly as he blacked out.
