I Know About All Your Firsts

Arya was still doubting if being in the same car as her grim reaper was the best idea, but she had made worse decisions in her past life. The worst one being going to that brunch that led to her death. Arya then opened the passenger seat's door and went inside the car.

"Thanks," Her long strands of straight black hair fell on her face as she fastened her seatbelt.

"Hm…"

"What?"

Asher could just have started driving and not said a word, but apparently, he liked picking petty arguments with Arya, or maybe he just wanted a payback for all those snarky remarks she had made of him throughout the day.

"Nothing, it's just that I didn't think that you could say thank you to anyone."

"I know how to say thank you," she glared at him and bit a side of her inner cheeks, "by the way, how can humans see you, aren't you like a ghost or something unseeable?"

Asher drove past the bus station and Arya had not even looked once out the window. For all that she could know, Asher could just take her to an abandoned place, kill her, and she would have totally failed her mission. It was not as if he would do that, since he was her case manager.

"We, grim reapers, can take a physical form when we are on a case." Asher did not take his eyes off the road.

"So, how many cases have you completed?"

"You are the first one." Somehow, Arya noticed Asher had tightened a bit his grip on the steering wheel.

"Oh…" One part of Arya hated Asher, just for the sake of hating. She knew he had nothing to do with her death, but she needed to blame someone, and Asher was just the perfect target. Another part of Arya though, could not stop her attraction toward Asher. He had such long eyelashes, and she wanted to pass her hands through his lips and touch his chiseled face.

"Oh my! I'm even worse than my classmates!" In a tiny corner of Arya's mind she panicked, "but… technically I'm twenty-two, so… everything is legal… it isn't as if he was preying on a minor… wait… what am I thinking of?! Why would I want Asher falling for me? Come on, Arya, stop letting your hormones take control of you!"

"Like what you are seeing?" Asher's smirked which led to Arya's heart skipping a beat while also interrupting her internal debate.

Arya's face blushed, "I don't know what you are referring to. I was just thinking how much I hate you… in general." She could not help but give him one last glance from head to toe.

"Hm… if you say so." Asher now looked more relaxed than before which made Arya feel at ease. Somehow, Asher's gesture of tightening his grip on the steering wheel earlier made Arya scared.

Arya then looked out through the window and noticed that she was close to her house.

"Hey! Weren't you going to drop me off at the bus station? Also, how do you know where I live?"

"Before the mission, they give us all the information we need of our client, your address is obviously in there."

"What else do you know?" Arya hated when her privacy is breached.

"Is this heaven's way of fooling with me? Why does he even need to have my information? Isn't his job to just watch over me?" Arya thought as anger began rising inside her.

"Hm… Basic stuff. Personal information… school records… family… hobbies… your strengths and weaknesses. Oh… I also know about all your firsts."

Arya could not help but notice that Asher smirked and emphasized the last word.

"That's all in the past... or future!" Arya was still confused if she needed to refer to her past life as past or future since none of those events have happened in this timeline, "And… I'm fifteen again, therefore, none of that has happened. I still haven't got my first boyfriend!" It embarrassed Arya that Asher knew about her first boyfriend, her first kiss, even her first time when she had sex!

"I was just referring about the first time you walked, the first time you ate and threw up. Those normal things, where did your mind go?" Asher clearly had all the intentions of teasing her.

Arya's face was tomato red. Asher had clearly said "first" with a double-meaning!

"You, Mr. Grim Reaper, are a horrible person!"

"This has been the weakest insult you have thrown to me today. Try better, by the way we are close to your house. Also, Arya, just a personal suggestion, but you should make sure that we can get in contact in a better way. Remember that I'm here to help you and track your progress." Asher was already parking in Arya's house front entrance.

"I don't need yours or anyone's help!" She fastened off the seatbelt and ran out of the car as she slammed the door shut.

Asher could not help but laugh as he drove away, "This girl is really going to be a handful."

Asher had said the truth that when he confessed to Arya that she was his first case. But even grim reapers had their own secrets, and Asher was no exception to this.
