Brand new Family

At the store, Jared had to deal with a grumpy customer whose card wasn't working then he started making a fuss about it. Jared didn't have the time and energy to deal with the grumpy man so he told him to pay cash or wait till he answered all the other people but the man didn't move and kept causing trouble and making an unnecessary scene. Jared didn't answer him anymore, when he got tired, he dropped all the things he bought and left

the store.

At home, Michael replied Khalid's question and said "Jared is just seventeen and he works as a cashier for a store at the mall called...(Michael trying to remember the name). Aha! Glizzy clothing store" saying with a sad expression.

"What if I help him with his education. From the beginning till he finishes. I feel pity for him" Khalid said with pity written all over his face.

" If you want to but do not do it with pity but see it as sponsoring your brothers education, I have been thinking about adopting him legally but I will need his consent since he's almost the age of a legal adult. I will like for him to have our last name, Jackson"

" If that's so father you will need him to agree and I hope he will. Besides I've always wished for a sibling after that witch of a mother took away my twin. I just hope for the best for my twin" with a mixture of both anger, hurt and betrayal written all over his face.

" I hope to see my daughter one day but if its not possible I hope for the best for her because no matter what she will always be my daughter, my blood and everything" Michael said with a glint of tears about to fall out his eyes.

They hugged each other giving themselves comfort. Just when Michael was about to stand up to make dinner for all of them, Khalid asked a question, a question in which Michael had been avoiding for the longest of times. For twenty two years, Michael didn't want to say anything about the man. "There's nothing to say about that evil man, all I know is that he knew your mom was married and still took her away, your mom also lied that she had just a child and when the time came to leave she took your sister with her and two weeks later she sent the divorce papers. I didn't tell you all these because I don't want you to hate your mother. She gave birth to you and is still your mother till forever"

" Don't call her my mother, its very evident that she is a selfish and greedy woman who never cared about me, just herself and the f*****g money. As far as I'm concerned I do not have a mother and that is not my question I need the name of that useless man to find my twin sister not that money hungry woman who is my sperm donor" Khalid said in extreme anger.

Michael was reluctant to tell Khalid anything but eventually he did. " His name is David O'Connor"

"That b*st*rd was the man who tried to frame my boss for fraud and underground business. He will pay for everything he's done"

"Do whatever, you're grown up and i cant make decisions for you just don't do anything that will land you in trouble. I already lost a child, I can not afford to lose another". Michael replied standing up to make dinner for all three of them. After eating, they sat to talk about other less bothering things.

Already 8:30pm and Jared hasn't returned from the store. Michael started to get worried, different scenarios ran through his mind. 'What ifs' started coming up.

" Khalid can you run to the store to check up on Jared? Maybe he's having a hard times locking up. What if he's being kidnapped or his evil siblings attacked him or he's been robbed..." He kept on talking. Khalid got tired of hearing the worries.

"Does he have a phone?"

"Yes he does, I didn't think about that. Try calling him"

**Ring Ring**

"He's number is not reachable"

"Try again, it could be the network"

**Ring Ring**

"I think we should look for him, but let's wait till 9pm if he doesn't get home then we will go out to search for him but for now we'll keep on trying his number". Michael nodded his head in agreement to Khalid's suggestion.

Michael kept on looking at the clock. Immediately the clock struck 9:00pm he stood up and told his son to get going so that they would find Jared. Khalid got up and went to his room to change his clothes, as he was coming out of his room the front door opened up and Jared came in. Like an overprotective parent, Michael immediately hugged him and didn't bother to ask any question instead he brought Jared to the dining table and gave him food to eat. As he was eating Khalid got to the table and asked why he got home late.

" He just saw me today and is acting like an overprotective brother reprimanding me gosh I hope this doesn't end up badly" Jared thought looking at his food.

"I'm sorry, when I locked up the store I went to the park to think then I lost track of time"

As Michael was about to talk Khalid interrupted "Then what happened to your phone we've been trying to reach you for up to an hour but we couldn't" Khalid said with slight anger in his voice.

"I'm sorry my phone died unfortunately and i didn't notice till I wanted to check time. Immediately I realized, I started coming home". Khalid's expression changed to a calm one.

" We have something to tell you". Michael said in hesitation giving a knowing look to his son, Khalid.
