Hope you enjoy this chapter. This is the start of the Beacon arc and I hope you like it. Don't forget to favorite, follow and review.
The first day of Beacon is happening. It's 5:00 AM and the team is sleeping peacefully in their beds except for Ace who woke up from his scroll's alarm. He began his daily stretching, took a bath, made breakfast for himself and his teammates. Ace, with the cup of tea, went to wake them up. He brought his scroll and choose a loud song on a high volume. As expected, they freaked out and Carl fell from his bed.
"Wake up, guys. Don't wanna be late for the first day in Beacon with my friends. Now, go wash yourselves, breakfast is ready." Ace ordered as he stopped the music.
"What time is it?" Carl asked, sounding sleepy.
"6:00 AM. It's not like I'm the only one who woke up this early." Ace answered.
They got up from their beds with Skyler seemed to be excited and having the energy for the day. They washed and went to eat breakfast.
"This breakfast seems delicious. T-Thank you, Ace." Sky thanked.
"No problem. I have learned how to cook whenever I wake up early or if my parents weren't home." Ace said as he took a sip from his tea.
After they finished, they wore their official uniform. For boys black suits lined with gold, accompanied by a blue vest and a white shirt with a red tie. Girls wore a red plaid skirt, stockings of various lengths, and a brown jacket with a tan vest and white shirt with a red ribbon tied at the collar. Same old outfits.
They arrived at the first class around 8:35 AM for Port's Grimm study class. They have waited for everyone to arrive with the last team arriving team RWBY and JNPR in the last five minutes. Why did they take so long to finish their stuff? You could have worked on your room at the night or after the day finishes instead of spending a lot of time in the morning.
Professor Port's Grimm study class finally began and Ace forgot how BORING, AGONIZING, AND STRAIGHT WASTE OF TIME in 80 to 90% of the time they had in the year. Like seriously, Peter, you shouldn't make us hate this class if you want us to learn about the Grimm then try to at least teach us a bit more and less over the top stories. Ace thought before that if Port's class will contain these stories then he will record his stories on his scroll and analyze them. This idea happened in the middle of the first semester and you know what let's do it early. Ace laughed at how stupid and the plot holes in his stories that ACES began to listen to his stories and use as a way of entertainment in the weekend. Right now, he continued to the normal route but it will turn into the stories soon.
"As you can see, the Ursa Major's back is deadly. It can kill anything, even the Grimm near him if someone utilized it. Like one time," Port explained before he went to another story.
Ace rolled his eyes, Carl looked like he's gonna fall asleep, Violet sighed in frustration while she's taking notes, and Skyler put her head on the table.
"Are we supposed to get educated or tortured from these boring stories? Seriously, can you stay in one thing for more than 5 minutes?" Skyler whispered in frustration.
"I know, so, I'm recording this in case I lost focus." Ace whispered as he nudged Carl with his elbows.
"A way to go back for the good information?" Violet asked.
"Yes, and debunk his stories." Ace answered.
"What?!" Carl, Violet, and Skyler's eyes wide opened as they were surprised.
"Trust me. It's a good way to spend the weekend. You will see." Ace felt bad at his doing but nobody can handle listening to his stories and whoever can get through deserve a reward.
As time moved forward, Port got the cage that had the Boarbatusk and Weiss went to fight it as a way to get something out of this boring class. The fight itself feels embarrassing for Weiss. She looked like she can't handle it, like come on, Weiss. Sky killed the same thing with her hands. She finally finished her stupid fight and Port clapped. The fight isn't anything impressive or good except if you were Jaune.
"Is there anybody who wants to try his luck or you're scared of getting dirty?" Port asked trying to intimidate anyone. Ace lifted his hands to show them that you don't need to show off your skills.
"Oh, Mr. Storm, it's nice to see you come and try your luck with a Beowulf," Port said as Ace got up and went to fight the Beowulf that Port brought with him.
As Ace approached, Port stopped him. "Are you gonna wear your hunter outfit, Mr. Storm?"
"No need to." Ace answered as he stood in front of the cage.
"Well, good luck, Mr. Storm. I hope your outfit doesn't get any cuts on your first day." Port said as he opened the cage, releasing the Grimm.
GROWL The Beowulf growled before he attacked. Beowulf raised its claws to attack but meet a fist to the head, sending the Grimm to the cage's post. As Beowulf tried to get up, the cage's door met his body. CLANG Ace closed the metal door at its face. He repeated it again and again, making everyone cringe from the sound. Finally, he took a pencil from Port's desk and stabbed it at the Grimm's eyes. The scene made everyone cringe but he didn't stop as he pushed the pencil deeper with his leg until it killed the Grimm once and for all.
As the Grimm turned to dust he took the pencil and put it back. "Just like that, I killed a Beowulf. No need to show off your skills." Ace said as he dusted his hands.
The class was silent. Some were shocked by the scene while some were excited like Ruby who had her jaws dropped and eyes had stars in them.
Port, on the other hand, blinked and clapped. "Wow! You showed a good way to deal with Beowulf by using the environment to your advantage. I think we will have quite the huntsman in this generation."
"Your welcome."
The bell ranged, meaning that the first class of the day is finished. "That's it for today's class. Don't forget to read pages 10 to 13 for the next class. You're dismissed." With that, they finally finished this boring class.
…
Next was plants science class by Thumbelina Peach. Nothing interesting was happening in this class other than Weiss' answering the most.
After that, it was history by Bartholomew Oobleck and Ace forgot how much focus this class needed to understand Oobleck's explaining. He needs to put the coffee down because if the more coffee he drinks the faster he becomes. Green tea will make him slow or maybe normal speed if someone was able to replace his caboose or mug. He also recorded Oobleck's lesson but at least he will slow it down a little to understand if there was anything that went without notice. But at least he doesn't tell stories like Port.
After the first half of the day, they headed to the dining hall to have lunch. ACES are sitting in together and eating.
"So…How's the first half of the first day?" Ace asked while eating.
"It was fine. Port was boring as hell, Peach was okay, and Oobleck need to slow down a bit." Carl answered.
"Same thing." Violet and Sky agreed.
"Seriously, I had written plans and ideas on the notes when he was telling stories. Normally, when a teacher wants to tell a story, mostly it talks about his or others' experience if it meant something important for the lesson. Port, on the other hand, says something about a certain type of Grimm and spends the next minutes telling his story on how he 'demolished' with the most boring and unconvincing way." Violet said.
"Y-Yeah. Professor Oobleck, on the other hand, while he needs to stop drinking that much coffee, I-I was interested in hearing him despite the amount of focus to understand every single word." Skyler returned to eat.
"Oh well, we still have one more to go and a sparring class." Ace reminded. "After that, we will finish our assignments and have some talking together."
"By the way, t-thank you for the show you gave us in Port's class, Ace. You did the most interesting thing that everyone got impressed by." Skyler thanked. "The way you killed that Beowulf like a bug was cool. It reminded me when I ripped off the Boarbatusk's horn to save my siblings."
"What?!" Carl and Violet exclaimed while Ace was calm because he already knows about it.
"R-Right, my first Grimm was a Boarbatusk and I killed it 4 years ago when that disgusting pig tried to hurt my precious siblings." The blue-haired girl told her story and rubbed her neck.
A few seconds of silence went through. "That's awesome! How did you do that? What was your weapon when you did? Can I see it?" ACES got surprised by a girl with a small pitched sound. When they saw her, she was in her outfit but wearing a long red cape from behind. She had small black hair with red tips and silver eyes. She's Ruby Rose. No need for an introduction.
"Sorry about her, she loves this type of stuff." A girl with long blonde hair and purple eyes sat next to her. She's Yang Xiao Long. Yang had 2 arms before. Alongside her was a girl with white hair and icy blue eyes aka Weiss Schnee, and a girl with long black hair with a bow on the top to hide her cat ears and yellow eyes aka Blake Belladonna.
"No need to be sorry. It's good to have more friends with us." Ace smiled and waved his hand sheepishly.
"Great! Can you answer my questions, please?" Ruby squeaked.
"I-I was taking care of my siblings and the house whenever my parents weren't home. It gave me a lot of strength than I thought and after the incident with the Boarbatusk, I asked my mom, who stayed at the house for some time, to help me to become a huntress and she agreed to train me in the last 4 years." Skyler told her story for her team and team RWBY. "I will show you my weapon but not here."
"How does your weapon look like?" The red reaper asked.
"The Meta cavalierly is a hammer that can turn to ax and a spiky mace but no gun because the smith isn't experienced with guns," Skyler explained.
"That's cool! I'm excited to see this Meta on display." Ruby hopped in her place before Yang put her hands on her shoulders to stop her.
"Calm down, Ruby. We will get to that later this day." Yang said as her sister stopped and sat down and turned to Ace. "Anyways, how it's going with you, Ace? I guess you looking smoothly with your team."
Everyone except Ace and Ruby raised their eyebrows. "Before you ask, I was with her in Signal Academy before coming here. We're friends but not by any means close ones." Ace explained his situation. "I gotta say, didn't expect Ruby to join Beacon this early and become a team leader." He pressed his hands on the table so hard it got the attention of RWBY and CES and became face to face with Ruby. "I don't know how you got into Beacon but I don't care either. What I care about is seeing your role as a leader because we're in a time where everyone will grow. Like it or not, it's simply the truth." Ace got back to his seat, he made himself sound like he don't know to not get any eyes on him.
Ruby laughed nervously but Weiss huffed. "I simply don't know why you're the leader while I should have become the leader," Weiss complained.
Oh yeah. It's when Ruby tried to cheer Weiss and in the horrible fight against the Boarbatusk. Later, Port talked with her and showed her about the leader's role. One of the times, Port WAS helpful when he uses his mouth.
"And you," She pointed her finger at Ace who knows what she will say. "The way you said 'show off' was pointing at me, wasn't it? Do you know who're you talking to?" Weiss said in an angry tone.
"I know who you are princess and I know that your fight against the Boarbatusk was stupid and awkward. So, I was generous enough and we had some time to fight the Beowulf to save Port's class from being horrible." Ace said mocking Weiss.
"I will say you did a good thing against Beowulf but HOW DARE YOU trying to mock me," Weiss exclaimed angrily.
"Listen up, Weiss. In my life, I don't give a shit about titles and ranks. I treat everyone with the equality and respect they have. So, please, don't think that you are superior because you're a 'Schnee so everyone will respect you.'. I bet some don't even respect you, excluding the Faunus who hate you." Ace returned. "So, don't cry to your daddy whenever you get humiliated in the future." He finally crossed his legs and took a bite from his food.
Weiss was ready to explode but she took a deep breath before she loses herself in front of everyone in the dining hall.
Skyler became close to Ace and Whispered. "A-Ace! D-Did you have to be this rude? Y-You're making an enemy more than an f-friend."
"Don't worry about that, she will understand later." Ace whispered back. It's a part of Weiss' development and even then, Ace didn't care about ranks, he can dropkick a noble in front of the public without feeling any shame.
"So, can we stop talking about that and change the subject? I would like to ask your numbers if we wanted to talk again, later." Violet changed the subject.
"Sure." Ruby nodded and pulled her scroll to exchange the numbers.
…
The bell ranged and it's time to continue the classes.
Next was the combat class by Professor Glynda Goodwitch. Glynda didn't change a lot since the fall. She remained the same serious teacher. She became the headmistress and took control after Ozpin died and reincarnated as Oscar. At that time, nobody tried to do something crazy that will break anything in the school because Glynda was helping in the reconstruction of Beacon, and if anyone did break something big, her twitching eye was showing that she was containing her anger.
In the meantime, Glynda was teaching about dust usage, something that Weiss is so experienced in for obvious reasons. It was very good despite Glynda's hitting her riding crop on the desk to get the attention.
After that, the thing some people were waiting for, the sparring class led by also Glynda Goodwitch. The teams were sitting in the amphitheater in their hunter outfits, waiting for Glynda to arrive. The doors got opened and Glynda entered. "Students, you're having a sparring class today. The rules are simple: 2 students will get picked up randomly, they will fight each other until someone either get his aura depleted, surrender, or ring out."
The large screen was having 2 empty slots and it will show the students who will fight. Some were excited like Ruby who wants to try her luck and have harder fights than the one she used to have in Signal. Some were nervous or scared like Jaune who was scared of getting exposed in front of everyone or fighting a strong person or both.
The slots were shuffling and in a few seconds, it stopped with a ring to show that: Carl Andersmith VS Jaune Arc. Okay, Jaune won't have a chance to win a single fight until the blonde dork starts to work on himself. Comparing the worst fighters in the first year, at least they can put a decent fight and surprising whenever one of them put a cool shot or smart stuff in the fight against stronger ones. But Jaune, despite being smart in strategies or tactics, can't utilize them if he doesn't know how to stand on his feet against Cardin, who's ranked in the worst fighters.
Crocea Mors' shield can take crazy attacks but it can't stand a strong ray of magic from Salem so it's something to upgrade early. The Sword was the same, he need to upgrade the metal of the blade to become sharper and more durable or Cinder can destroy it if she gave effort.
The 2 blondes are in the arena, Jaune in his old Pumpkin Pete's hoody, blue jeans, weak armor, messy hair, and carrying his weapon in the sword and shield mode, his legs are a bit shaky, he was sweating, yeah, he was nervous. Carl, on the other hand, his outfit is clean, his weapon is ready, and the dude look focused. His fingers in the strings aka his shooting trick. It's obvious who will win.
The screen was counting: 3…2…1…FIGHT.
Everyone is focused on Carl and Jaune to see who will make the first move. Both combatants were standing, a small guitar riff coming from Nevan.
"A-Are you going to attack or just standing there? Y-You know you're in a fight, not a music class." Jaune asked nervously.
"Such words from someone like you," Carl said as he direct the top of the ax or the hole where the shots will come out and made a guitar riff that activated the gun to shoot 2 shots at Jaune.
Jaune blocked the coming shots and put down his weapon but nothing was in front of him. He lifted his head and his eyes wide opened as Carl was in the air and ready to strike with Nevan. The hit land and Jaune blocked it but it didn't stop as Carl continued his attacks that pushed Jaune back. The blonde knight struggled to keep up with Carl's attacks. Jaune was able to dodge a coming swing from Carl and raised his sword to attack. Unfortunately for Jaune and fortunately for Carl, the attack was slow and awkward so Carl dodged easily and Jaune nearly slipped before he met a knee to the face.
Jaune stumbled away from that knee attack but it wasn't the only attack because Carl landed more with his ax to hurt him more. Jaune decided to run away after he successfully dodged Carl's attack but that won't help him when you have someone more experienced fighting you. The blonde musician swung his ax to hit Jaune. Jaune turned to block the attack but the attack was strong to make him slip up, giving Carl a good opening to make a guitar riff to shoot 2 shots, making Jaune's aura weaker.
The spectators were surprised to see how much Carl was dominating the match and Jaune wasn't able to land a single hit. Ruby was awed by Carl's weapon and performance but at the same time sad to see Jaune humiliated like that. Weiss wasn't impressed at how the blonde dork got his ass kicked. Blake was disappointed. Yang was giggling and a bit sad to see her sister's first friend got smacked by the new friends they made when they were in the dining hall. Pyrrha was sad to see her love get beaten like that. Nora was trying to cheer her 'fearless leader' to do anything. Ren sighed in disappointment. Violet was writing some notes. Skyler was cheering Carl. Ace facepalmed at Jaune, this was the gate to his bullying section from Cardin, and seeing Cardin's smirk from a mile away proved that. He should talk to him without Cardin's blackmailing and try to have something similar to their event where Cardin stopped his stupid bullying. Ace knew that Jaune received the message after the hits he got.
Back to the arena, Carl was continuing his beating section. Close or not, Jaune is getting defeated in everything. His movement is bad, his stance is bad, he can't think of how to stop a train wreck from Carl Andersmith who's not the experienced and stronger one Ace used to know when he trained his team.
Right now, Jaune can barely stand on his feet and is ready to fall but no because Carl was charging at him and using his semblance to build up a small sonic wave, he gave Jaune the final attack that didn't deplete Jaune's aura but knocked him out of the arena.
"The winner is Carl Andersmith," Glynda announced as she went near the arena with some claps in the background. "As you saw, Mr. Andersmith beat Mr. Arc by not just aura depletion but a ring out. It will be something normal for the rest of the year." She turned to Carl. "Now, Mr. Andersmith, while you showed some good work you need to work on your ax swings." Carl nodded before she turned to Jaune. "For you, Mr. Arc, you need to work on everything, you should know that Carl was just an introduction for worse fights here or in the world. I suggest you work on… well, everything." Jaune nodded weakly. "Now, get back to your seats for the next match." Both blondes went back to their teams and the slots are getting shuffled.
As the slots got set, 2 random students went to fight while the former went to their seats. Jaune sat next to his team and put his hands in his face. "Ouch. Why did my luck strike me with someone who was so fast to react." Jaune said.
Pyrrha frowned and put her hands on her leader to comfort him. "You weren't that bad, Jaune. You tried your best but it didn't work." Pyrrha tried to cheer him.
"Well, Carl wasn't moving fast. Jaune's attacks and the reaction weren't good enough. You would have been beaten much quicker if he was faster." Ren showed his opinion.
Jaune sighed and put his hands down. "It's okay, guys. I will try my best next time."
On the other side, Carl was sitting back with his team, crossing his legs. "You were great, Carl." Skyler cheered.
"Thank you. That easier than I thought. Just observing him made me realize that I don't need to be that concerned." Carl said.
"Yeah, Jaune was… very bad. He can easily be the worst fighter between everyone here without going through the rest. Still, you might win but it's not granted to win again." Violet examined.
Ace didn't say anything and waited for the next match. The one that was happening got finished and the slots were shuffling. It got: Violet Entrapta vs Russel Thrush. Yeah, we know where this is going.
Violet went down with her Torbjorn Gauntlets and was ready to fight. Russel with his daggers and his stupid smirk.
"Ha! Do you think you can beat me with your big shell? You should have a different job instead of getting yourself dirty." Russel mocked.
Violet didn't faze from Russel's mocking. "I would have become an inventor but I'm a Faunus anyway, it's hard to get a job like that. You're the one who should fly to the nearest trash and have a different job." Violet chuckled and mocked back. The mocking had 'OHHs' in the background. The bully got mad and he attacked. Violet smirked and stepped aside to dodge him and when he tried to turn back, he met a punch to his face.
He recovered from the punch and charged forward at her. He swung his daggers at Violet but she didn't have that much trouble to parry them and counterattack with another punch. The angrier he became, the predictable he became, and Violet didn't have a lot of trouble handling him. Russel was taking quick breaths, fighting the turtle Faunus was harder than it looked, and looks like it got harder when she decided to use the dust in her gauntlets. Violet was firing fire dust at him and he tried to dodge them but failed and took some of them. Violet repeated the same process until Russel got eventually lost.
Ace wasn't surprised but he knows if Violet was more experienced in the hand-to-hand combat, she won't waste the same amount of dust she used. Something to the 'to-do list'.
"I think he learned the lesson. Hotheads like him can't stand a chance against me." Violet said as she set down.
"I say you shouldn't waste dust like that against the likes of him unless you had a horde of strong people." Ace said.
"You're right, I waste important shots on him. I will try to calculate it next time."
They went back to the arena and more combatants fought. Team RWBY had Weiss and Yang fighting weaker opponents and they win without much trouble. Team JNPR had Pyrrha and Nora doing the same. Others went by until the next one was interesting. The slots showed the next fight will be: Ruby Rose vs Skyler Eindhoven. One of the interesting matches of the year. Ace turned to see Ruby excited to fight Skyler and see the Meta Cavalierly. Skyler was the same, only she was less than Ruby.
"Good luck with her, Sky. She's fast." Ace cheered his teammate.
Sky blushed lightly but smiled, "I will try my best." She said before she goes. The 2 girls were standing in the arena and ready with their weapons.
"Oh, I'm excited to fight you on the first day. Good luck, Sky. You won't handle the awesomeness of my baby, Crescent Rose." Ruby said as she pulled her weapon in the scythe mode.
"T-Thanks. We will see in the end who will win." Skyler said as she pulled the Meta Cavalierly in the hammer mode.
"So cool!" The red reaper whispered in awe.
The countdown had begun: 3…2…1…FIGHT!
Skyler made the first move as she charged forward. She jumped high and slammed her hammer in Ruby, but she dodged it with her semblance. Ruby started to use her sniper and began to shoot at Skyler. The blue-haired girl dodged and blocked them very easily until she closed the gap and attacked Ruby with her hammer again. Ruby dodged the attack and dodged it again because Sky didn't want her to get away.
Ruby used her scythe and attacked Skyler. Skyler dodged the attack and tried to move away but Ruby used her semblance and got behind her to give her a good hit.
"Gahhh!" Skyler cried out of pain and swung her hammer at Ruby but the red reaper escaped from her very easily.
Sky scanned the area and changed the hammer to the ax mode. She continued to scan and heard a gunshot from behind. She turned around to see Ruby in the air and ready to hit her with her scythe. Sky swung her ax with a big amount of strength and clashed the ax with the scythe's blade, making a loud CLANG and a shockwave. The 2 girls backed away from their clash and stood a distance from each other.
"Y-You're good. This speed semblance makes you very annoying to catch and this deadly scythe is a good piece of art." Sky said.
"Oh, thank you, I guess. You too have a great weapon but it won't be compared to my baby." Ruby said before she put her scythe behind her and shot to launch herself at her opponent.
Skyler dodged the attack, making Ruby misses her attack, and tried to attack the petite girl but got overwhelmed with the rose petals. Ruby was in the air and shot with her sniper at Skyler. The blue-haired girl blocked it and began to move forward. Ruby, with her Crescent Rose's sniper, moved around the arena so quickly for the blue-haired girl to react. Skyler was trying to block her attacks, she changed it to the hammer mode to try to give her a heavy attack or block her attack to be able to open an opportunity for her. She thought of an idea and used the lightning dust and in the right moment, she swung her ax at Ruby's coming attack, making her flying and land on her back.
"Ouch. What was that?" Ruby said as she tried to get up. She saw Skyler approaching her and tried to use her semblance but it was late for her as she got the hit from her side, making her fly again.
The Red Reaper got up and quickly dodged a coming from the hammer-wielding girl. She used her semblance and got her weapon back. Both girls clashed their weapons with sparks appearing in the air, showing how strong their clashes are. Ruby jumped back from Sky's attack and landed away from her. She used a sniper shot to launch herself at her opponent. Skyler was about to move but stopped as she knew her opponent will trick her with her semblance, so, she use earth dust and slammed the hammer's head at the ground to make an earthquake to make Ruby trip. The idea worked as when Ruby tried to use the same tricks at her, she tripped from the earth dust and because of her speed, she was going forward at her opponent. Which perfectly opened an opportunity to attack. Ruby closed her eyes from the impact, Skyler span her hammer to be able to launch Ruby above her with a good amount of force. The petite girl was flying above her opponent. When she opened her eyes, her eyes wide opened as Sky was jumping at her and ready to deliver her attack. She thought quickly and used her semblance to dodge the coming hammer and started rolling around Sky like a tornado. Skyler gasped as she saw the speed of Ruby getting faster, making her higher in the air before she appears above her with her Crescent Rose ready to finish the fight. Ruby pressed the button and launched herself at her opponent, delivering the final attack that broke her opponent's aura and landing on the ground with a heroic pose.
The lights turned back and Glynda walked forward at the 2 girls. "The winner is Ruby Rose," Glynda announced.
Ruby, on the other hand, was very happy as she secured her first victory in a bigger spar match but she went to check her new friend. While yes, the fight seemed a bit difficult whenever Sky landed a hit that felt like a train, still, she proved that she can be a hard opponent. She offered her hands to Sky who took it to recover. "You fought great, you know. I'm excited to be friends with you and your team in the future." Ruby said.
"Me too. I will beat you one day, keep that in your memory." Skyler said as she got up.
"While I see that Ms. Eindhoven's performance was holding herself against Ms. Rose, I have to say that you should work on your reaction time against fast opponents like Ms. Rose, especially that you have a heavy weapon." Sky nodded.
"As for you Ms. Rose, your fast attacks and tricks were overwhelming, but you need to work on how to avoid the attacks from smart opponents or people that have a great reaction time." Ruby nodded as well. "You can go," Glynda said as the 2 girls went back to their teams.
Skyler returned to her seat, looking sad from her defeat. "Sorry, guys. I was so close if she didn't use her annoying semblance in the last second." She said to her teammates.
Ace patted her shoulder. "Come on, girl. You were great there and you were able to hold yourself against someone so fast like Ruby, you even gave her some good hits. You might lose but at least you tried to do anything." He said comforting his blue-haired teammate.
"Ace's right. While you lost, you made quite the challenge, unlike that guy who Carl fought and wasn't able to do anything." Violet said.
Skyler was smiling while having a small blush on her face and tried to hide it. "Thank you for your words guys."
Ace was smiling at his friend, it also felt good inside him to be with Sky when she needs help. Ace will remember to train her on how to react to fast opponents because it will be handy, especially in the future when they have their first mission.
Time moved on and more combatants were fighting, Ace was waiting for his turn because everyone will be involved in this class. His turn finally came and it happened to be against Cardin Winchester, beating the biggest asshole in Beacon before he got good.
Nobody knows what happened to Cardin or specifically CRDL after the Fall of Beacon. They were one of the people who stayed to fight in the fall and nobody knows what happened. They might have died or survived and gone to a different place. Ace didn't bother himself to think about what happened to them. Who knows what happened, maybe they went to do other jobs or become mercenaries even if it feels out of place for Cardin but who knows.
That's not what we need to talk about right now as Ace and Cardin are standing in the arena. Cardin with his mace on his shoulder, having his arrogance taking control with that stupid smirk on his mouth.
"So, you're the one who killed the Beowulf in that class, huh. Don't look like you can beat me because you killed a tiny Beowulf." Cardin said confidently.
Ace rolled his eyes, "Yeah, yeah, laugh all you want Cardin, the Beowulf was just snacks from the other types I fought. You won't be able to beat Ursa with that body of yours." Ace mocked.
This seemed to make Cardin pissed off a little bit. He charged at Ace with a battle cry and his mace ready to hit. Ace pulled the Dust Decoded from his back and blocked it very easily. Ace pushed Cardin before he kick his chest, pushing Cardin away. Cardin charged again and began to swing his mace blindly at Ace who dodged them very easily without making so much effort to it.
"Stop. At. Once. You. Little. Bastard." Cardin said in his swings before he got stopped by a kick from Ace to his face.
The blue-haired boy smiled at Cardin's desperate attempts to hit him but Cardin isn't that good to compete with Ace's level. Cardin attacked Ace again but his attack got blocked with the Dust Decoded. Ace was using one hand and pretty much shows domination without making so much effort. Cardin tried to push Ace with his strength but Ace pushed it back more to the point Cardin can't stand well enough and opened a chance for a hit.
Ace kneed Cardin in his stomach, making Cardin whine in pain and cover his stomach from the hit. Ace didn't stop as he kneed Cardin's jaw and swung his sword to make good damage.
"Not so confident, aren't ya?" Ace mocked Cardin, making him growl.
"Shut up!" Cardin exclaimed as he aimlessly attacked Ace.
Ace facepalmed internally and put his sword on his back, seeing as it's not worthy to spend any time on him. He sidestepped at Cardin's attack and grabbed Cardin from behind. He jumped in the air and span mid-air while carrying Cardin. "Beowulf Powerbomb!" Ace shouted as he slammed Cardin so hard on the ground, making a small crater with Cardin's body.
Cardin tried to get up but Ace grabbed his left leg. "Time for a spinning ride!" Ace exclaimed as he started to roll Cardin so hard before he released his grip, making Cardin fly outside of the arena and giving him some great damage.
The match officially ended up with Ace winning by a ring-out and nearly breaking Cardin's aura. "The winner is Ace Storm," Glynda announced.
"Mr. Storm, as you were able to beat Mr. Winchester without making so much effort, you need to put that overconfidence of yours," Glynda told to Ace.
"But, professor, that wasn't overconfidence, he didn't need to raise my skill and effort because he's not worthy at all." Ace said.
"Yes, but still. You will face stronger opponents in the future. You have to be ready for them."
Ace doesn't need that advice because he programmed himself on that but he needs to move everything as normal. "Okay, professor."
Glynda turned to Cardin and her look don't seem to be happy. "As for you, Mr. Winchester. There's a lot of things you need to know on how to fight against people who're stronger than you. This arrogance won't help you against a thug leader or even a normal Ursa."
"Whatever." Cardin shrugged while giving some glares at Ace. Ace noticed that and chuckled. 'That idiot will learn the hard way.' Ace said in his thoughts before he went to his seat.
…
The class moved on and when it finished, the day's officially finished. ACES went back to their dorm and had some rest before going to their assignments for the day. After they finished, the team is sitting in a square format, in the middle of the room.
"So, tonight will be us introducing more about ourselves, who wants to start first?" Ace said as Carl raised his hands. Ace already knows their identities but he had to make it convincing.
"My name is Carl Andersmith. I lived in Vacuo in my childhood until the Grimm came by and destroyed everything, forcing us to move to Vale. I started to listen to music when I was 10 and since then, I grew in love with different types of music. My baby's idea, Nevan, came when I killed a Beowulf with an old guitar I had, so I had a new one with a combat capability so I can do both. My semblance is Hammering Echo. It allows me to build up soundwaves and release it."
Carl finished his introduction and backstory and the turn headed to Violet.
"My name is Violet Entrapta. I don't know who's my real parents because they left me with another family when I was a year old. My new family raised me like I'm their daughter even though I was a Faunus and I had a brother younger than me and he's going to college next or so a year. I was smarter than usual when I was able to read, write and calculate when I was 4. I made my first invention when I was 6. I graduated early and had the chance to become a big inventor and going to Atlas in 12 but I put that chance away."
"W-What?! But Why?" Sky asked surprised.
"Simple, I'm the creature that many humans hate aka Faunus and a turtle Faunus with a shell on my back. I knew it will be a difficult task to have my place in such a continent that had some 'questionable' stuff about how to handle Faunus. Nobody would have listened to or supported my ideas except the general but I didn't take it. When I found that I can use that intelligence to become a huntress to not waste my intelligence, I started on that plan and maybe someone will admire my genius."
Her teammates frowned at her story. Skyler put her hand on her mouth and hugged her Faunus friend tightly. "I'm sorry, Vi. I know how hard life can be." Skyler said in a sad tone.
"I-It's okay, Sky…you can release me." The turtle Faunus said as Sky finished her hug.
"Anyways, I started to work on my weapons and I successfully made Torbjorn Gauntlets as well as my BFG 3000."
The trio was confused at her BFG 3000 but she went to her bag and opened it to pull a giant laser gun, making Carl and Sky surprised by the giant weapon. "This bad boy despite not using it very often was useful at many times I needed to stop dangerous situations. Like the time a White Fang special operator went to me and asked me to join the White Fang and refused his offer. When they went to take me by force, I killed the one who came to me and destroyed their base with my BFG as well as clearing any evidence that connects to me."
Carl and Sky paled and backed up from Violet while Ace chuckled. "Welcome to the club!" Ace exclaimed.
"My semblance is Metal Manipulation. I can control and bend any type of metal, it's useful when I work on something. I can also detect metal within a decent range when I focus. I don't use it for combat very often but it's there. Oh! I started on computer program last year and I'm pretty good at it."
Carl and Sky blinked for a second as they were trying to put everything together. "Ooookay, My turn," Skyler said.
"M-My name is Skyler Eindhoven. I-I was born with 2 parents and 2 young siblings. My parents didn't stay in the home a lot so I had to take care of the house and my precious siblings which gave me strength. A-About that time I said I killed a Boarbatusk. It tried to hurt my siblings with these dirty horns, so I pulled it and stabbed it on it until it died. When I realized I had that strength, I asked mom to help me on becoming a huntress when she stayed at home a lot. After some time, I managed to get my Meta and headed to Beacon. I-It was very difficult to say goodbye to them but I managed to go through it and here I am. S-Sadly, I don't have a semblance, still trying to see when I would unlock it."
As Sky finished, the heads turned to Ace who clapped. "Okay, my turn."
"My name is Ace Storm. Born on the island of Patch with 2 parents and 4 siblings. I started training at the age of 7 and because of Storm's stubbornness, my parents agreed to train me. When I was 8, and let's keep it a secret, I had my first kill." The last part surprised and frightened his teammates. "YOU DID WHAT?!" They shouted. "H-Hey, It was an accidental one." He said as they got confused. "There was a serial killer called Jack the Ripper and he put the town on the toes for a while. Jack went to our house and tried to kill us, I was awake by that time and I had to fight him. Long story short, he slipped and fell on the knife I had for protection and my parents came to help me and got rid of Jack's body. It took a week but mom was able to turn me back to normal."
His teammates were shocked and Sky had tears in her eyes. "That seems awful." The blue-haired girl said.
"It was. Keep it a secret until I say so. Going back, I trained on different weapons and styles as well as shooting with guns. Had my weapons when I was in signal and here we are. Any questions?"
"Okay, you had more than what it shows, and can you tell me about your Dust Decoded?" Violet asked.
"First of all, thank you. Secondly," Ace got up and brought his Dust Decoded, "this weapon here had been an idea by my grandfather Joseph Storm the Second. He couldn't make this idea to reality because the tech wasn't there. Years later, he, my uncle Crank, and I worked on it. It was fun yet worthy if you want the details. As for the way it works." Ace rolled the dust revolver to the fire dust option, "I choose between the dust I had and press the button to summon the body." He said as he pressed the button and a body made out of magma started to form on the blade, soon the blade became magma with small fire coming out of it. "I had many types of dust, including ones that we made and no one knows about it yet." The button is pressed again and the sword's blade turned to back to normal.
"Gods, can you introduce me to your grandfather in the future?" Violet asked, sounding excited.
"Sure, I think you will have some fun together. He had many ideas that didn't see the light. I think he will be pleased to see someone who can help him now and then. But don't get too overboard with your ideas."
"Alright, what's your semblance? You didn't say something about it." Carl asked.
"Well, it's also something I want you to keep a secret." Ace took a deep breath. "Listen, I know I can trust you with my secret. I had a rare case of having 2 semblances."
His teammates were shocked, their eyes are wide and their jaws are down.
"Yeah, the expected reaction. Okay, my first semblance is Shadow Clones." Ace said as he snapped which made another clone standing behind him. "These clones are powerful. It's hard to know the real from fake and the secret is the shadows." He pointed at his shadow. "If I had a clone had a shadow then it's the real but I can't SNAP teleport via shadows." The standing clone said. His teammates jumped from the surprise. "As you see, the sitting clone doesn't have a shadow, which means the real is the one is standing." The standing clone said as it dissolved. "They can be trick and hard to detect."
Carl, Violet, and Sky thought for a moment. His semblance can be powerful and tricky against strong people but wait there's a second one.
"The second one and I want you to keep it a secret from anyone is Healing Factor." He said as he pulled a knife and stabbed his wrist. They were surprised by Ace's action and Ace flinched in pain as he pulled the knife from his wrist. His wrist started to heal by itself and became like it didn't get stabbed. This information made CES beyond shocked. Who knows about such a semblance existed in Remnant. "it's a passive semblance, so it heals without my control."
CES didn't hear that information well because they were registering this crazy. "W-What! H-H-How? When did you have that?!" They asked.
"Well, it's a heritage. Storm family had a lot of stuff and one of them is Healing Factor. Some didn't get it and had it but it works with a certain element. And as I said, it's completely passive and doesn't have a way to stop." Ace explained.
"A-A-A-And y-you tell us right now?!" Skyler stuttered.
"Yes, because I know I can trust you with this secret and the other stuff I may or may not tell you in the future. Don't ask." Ace finished. He knows them when he lived with them in the past. Their reaction wasn't different from the first time they knew about it. He told them the truth about the Healing Factor because he didn't want to lose the trust in terms of secrets and especially when he tells them about a certain Demon.
"W-Wow! I need to rest from this amount of information this day." Carl said as he laid back on the ground.
"I know semblances can be crazy but this is the first time a semblance that can heal internal organs and bones in a matter of seconds is real. Am I correct?" Violet said turning to Ace who nodded in response.
"As I said, I want you to keep this a secret between us. Nothing will come out of this conversation until I said so. I know that you can keep it and don't ever say any words about the Healing Factor or the 2 semblances out of here." Ace said.
CES nodded nervously, making Ace smile. "Good, now what do you like to spend the remaining time in the night."
The night moved on and ACES had changed the topic and it was fun. Carl, Violet, and Skyler were shocked by the information Ace gave them and he put his trust in them. But they tried to put it away and focused on different subjects. They're in their beds and sleeping.
'Hey, kid. Is it good to inform them that early?' Avon asked
'Yes, I had to because I want to make our bonds forging better and make them ready to meet you in the second semester when I trust them enough.' Ace answered.
'Okay, you're gonna do crazy stuff right on the spot.'
'Yeah. Also, I started to feel something inside me. I don't what it is but it feels familiar.'
'Hmm, right. Go to sleep, kid. I don't wanna waste any time with you.'
'Okay, goodnight, Avon.' Ace put the Demon Sword back in his place before heading to sleep.
Meanwhile, on the other side, Skyler remained to wake up with her thoughts about Ace. 'Yeah, killing at a young age, having two semblances with one making him nearly unstoppable. I don't what else under these muscles of his- NO! Calm down, Skyler. Don't think of these thoughts yet. It will have to wait until later.' She said in her thoughts while blushing at the muscles parts, 'Let's have some sleep before Ace woke us again with that alarm.' With that, she headed to sleep.
Little did they know about the crazy stuff Ace knows.
AN: It's the longest chapter in this story that I wrote myself. I hope you like it and have a bit of how things will go.
First of all, why do I make Ace reveal a lot of his secrets? Because that's will build some stuff with CES even if I didn't write it. This will put some stuff on his relationship with them and I can build on them if I had ideas for them.
Secondly, don't expect any words consistency. I'm not a guy who can write a lot of stuff unless I had many to say. So, if the next chapter wasn't as much as this one until later chapters, then this is normal.
Thirdly, how were the fights? I said I'm not the best person to write a fighting scene despite some crazy ideas I had in my mind. Feel free to share your opinion.
Lastly, don't forget to favorite, follow, and review this chapter. I need your support to continue working on this story.
Sincerely, Eslam.
