I look outside to see a giant moss covered boulder being thrown at a huge oak tree outside. My body starts to tingle as I start to walk toward Redan who seems to be covered in a blue wavy essence around his body and the rock he just threw at the tree to knock it down.
"Is that mana around your body?" My face filled with curiosity and my head tilts to the side a little bit as I look around and realize what he has done. The village we are in has a huge forest behind it and they are rapidly expanding to build more apparently. As he is opening up the forest a little bit, he is also moving boulders as he sees them, scaring away animals back into the woods, and also moving the trees he has destroyed for expansion.
"Oh Rylla, Yes this is mana, I'm moving trees for our village's expansion." His face seemed happy that someone was talking to him. He then looked around to see people staring at me. There is a fountain in the village near our house where most of the shops are at and is very populated every day of the week.
"Here, come closer to me and we will see what you can do with mana right now." His hands light up with the soft aqua blue wavy light emitting from his hand.
"Weird nothing is happening. Usually kids your age have already awakened." His face brimming with confusion as he questions himself if he did it right.
"We will try again later with Leum. For now why don't you make your way back home with her, food should almost be done." Waving me back to the house.
I'm pretty sure my parents told me about awakening your senses to mana a long time ago. Whenever an elf child is 5-7 years old they gain the ability to control mana and wield it with there own hands. You know you have awakened when you can see the mana emitting around someone using it. All I remember about my awakening is me being able to see my parents mana one morning after being very sick and them screaming saying they will never teach me. The room was covered with spirits everywhere.
Later that night at the dining room with a campfire, Chandelier, and really nice chairs with dyed comfort cloth on them they sat talking while eating. Leum, Redan, and the child Ajax who seems to be older than me, were talking about what happened that day and what all they did that seemed even remotely interesting. Meanwhile they were all working. I explored the village a little bit more and got to learn a lot about it. The Village seemed bigger than people would think when they first look at it. The shopping district near our house was surrounded by beautiful cabins and rock homes that were all well built and had chimneys coming from the top of them. Since it seemed to be winter every chimney seemed to have smoke coming from the house. Not many people were out on their rock roads. There were only some horse carriage carrying people around the village. I ended up going back home earlier than planned because my hands started to tinkle and act like they are reacting to something.
"So Rylla, I heard from redan that your body did not react to the mana he was sending through it?" She wanted to bring me in the conversations because I was sitting there quietly listening and eating. Its like she knows I have no clue what to say.
"I don't know a lot about mana but later on my hands started to sweat and tickle after a bit." My head looks at my hands to check if they were still doing it, they were not.
"Let me check Rylla, im more skilled in these sorts of things then him." She starts to walk towards me and her body lights up with mana as she puts her hand on my back.
"Wow, it seems like you have not even awakened yet but you can still see mana?" She backs off and turns to Redan.
"Let's leave this be for now, after all she is a elf and we are humans, there could be something that we don't know about them." Everyone goes back to eating after he agrees to wait until she talks to someone.
What seemed to be Homemade garlic bread and soup seems to be calling my name after I look at it with a face drooling, wanting more of the delicious food.
