Mad

My hand started to burn, after mixing the two I got caustic soda and chloroform inside the bottle, which also started to heat up from the release of gases and energy caused by the chemical reaction.

"Sorry, I was concentrating on something else that I forgot." I said, placing the bottle beside me.

"Ok, whatever." She answered without any interest.

I pulled out my cell phone and started looking at offline maps. As there was no internet, it was not possible to know the exact location where we were, so I looked for the nearest cities, roads, etc.

A few minutes later, as I played with my cell phone, the beige liquid began to bubble, a few seconds later, it was even more intensely.

"Mery."

"Uhm?"

"Can you put away that bottle?"

"Sure." She reached her arm back, I counted to 5.

The bottle was boiling, I mentally prepared myself and waited until the right time.

One

Two

Three

Four…

Five!

I quickly placed the bottle in her hand, at the same time as her hand gripped the bottle, she let go.

"Ouch, the bottle is!" she yelled, but she didn't sound angry.

I laughed, what else could I have done? Even at a time like this, I stopped feeling tense. From the beginning of the trip I hadn't thought of anything yet, to tell you the truth I didn't even come up with a plan, all that came to my mind was: Why not? I don't hold grudges against anyone, much less affection, so I asked myself, why did I do this? The question may seem complex, perhaps the answer one expects seems complex as well, but in reality it is simple: For pleasure.

Not the pleasure of seeing someone in pain, the pleasure of feeling pain, the pleasure of a fetish or narcissism. Just out of curiosity, feeling the adrenaline rush to your head, when in fact you should be protecting yourself, you're killing yourself. I have no resentment of things I could have done but I didn't , I live only regretting things I didn't let escape: There is opportunity, endless possibilities for yourself, while many will always be beneath you, waiting for opportunities that would change their lives, what about me? I don't deserve all of this. I would never do anything important, even with a lot of effort, I wasn't chosen.

At the end of the world, you won't appear in the credits, everyone has forgotten about you and you forget that you have a life, people who care about you and others who envy you.

So life comes down to one thing: Opportunities. They make you who you are as well as others.

At that point, I just had an opportunity to do something that was of value to me, for the first time I had an opportunity to do something that wasn't for me.

In those few seconds, I felt like a genius, a special person and different from everyone else. Right now, the bottle lying on the front seat had already exploded, luckily I didn't get burned.

As the car turned fully sideways at over 100km/h on that empty road, I imagined how the skin must be burning, burning really hard, a pain similar to when you touch the engine of a moving car, in combustion.

The road is about 2 meters high from the ground, there was no guard rail. She tried to brake, but that only made the situation worse.

The car was old, the airbag did not activate. The moment Mery pulled the parking brake, the car had a boost due to the altitude difference, so it flew off the road and hit the on the ground upside down.

Her belt probably snapped from the force, all the glass had cracked, with broken glass all over the car. Her head crashed through the windshield glass, hitting the ground, she died, I can assure you that. While her head was down, almost touching the ground, her body was lying on the interior roof of the car.

Luckily, the substance didn't splash on me. To protect myself, I placed the pillow on my torso, between my stomach and the seat belt. At the time of inertia, the belt squeezed me so much that I thought I had pierced my belly, as the car didn't hit the horizontal, it wasn't so serious, I had one more layer of protection, too.

I was stunned for 2 minutes before coming back to reality, looking through the broken glass on the bench, my forehead was purple, all purple, like I was a newborn with pneumonia.

I put my hand on my face to feel the seriousness of the wound, even before touching my forehead my head started to spin inside, along with the exorbitant headache there was also a heat burning sensation on my forehead.

After the pain partially left, I tried to open the car door, but it was clinging. I got into a lying-up position with my feet facing the door, when I lifted my legs to kick in the door, the shards of glass I thought I'd taken out were still there, crumpling against my back, the feeling of being skewered in various places reminded me of the last time I took a vaccine.

Gritting my teeth against each other, I started kicking the door until it came out, after a while trying unsuccessfully, I gave up and decided to go through the window, where there were still traces and sharp pieces of glass on the sides. I spent some time tearing out the window glass in various ways, kicking, punching, tearing, etc. After making sure I didn't get any serious cuts going through the window, I counted to 3 and put all my strength into getting through it as quickly as possible. But that was a silly idea, I did a not too deep but a shallow cut across my back, the pain came after I passed through the window, but it wasn't that strong and I managed to resist well.

I got out of the car and got on my feet, taking out the shards of glass that were stuck to my clothes. Walking to the place where the front seat is, I pulled the bag of water bottles out the window. With a huge bag on my back and my cell phone without a case in one of the pockets, all I had more with me were my casual clothes, black shorts and a white shirt, both made of linen and cotton, plus my deluxe running shoes. For some reason I decided to take the sock off, don't ask me why.

My cell phone was showing the hour almost 5 pm, I don't know how long the journey on foot will take, as I said before here there's no signal, so there's no way for me to get any information on where I am now. After looking at the road map one more time on my cell phone, I turned it off and tucked it into my deeper pocket so it wouldn't get hot. Counting the time, every 30 minutes in that sun I drank a small bottle, every 1 hour I drank a big one. The weather is pretty dry, too dry even after drinking water my throat and my lips are still dry, my shirt is totally soaked so I decided to take it off for a while and then put it back on.

I had been walking along the endless road for 1 hour, the sun was already setting and the waters were running out one by one. In the end of the afternoon, clouds already covered the sky, making me think that if I don't arrive soon, everything will be dark, and without the moonlight I won't be able to see anything.

I hadn't put my cell phone to charge the day before, the battery was almost gone, after looking at the map again, I started playing furious birds until I ran out of battery.

"What a sun of a b****"

Some time later the waters also ran out, but the sun was still there, lighting my way.
