Me Part 2

Brianna's POV

"Wake up." I heard a voice.

I groaned, "five more minutes."

"I am not enjoying this, Brianna. Get up."

I tried to figure out whose that voice was coming from.

My body uncontrollably shivered. Why is it so chilly? I tried to pull my blanket but I couldn't grab on to anything. I opened my eyes then I saw a woman with silver hair looking strangely at me.

I sat up as soon as I realized what was happening. "It's not a dream."

The woman rolled her eyes at me.

"Why am I still here?" I hugged myself. It's so cold.

"Because we are not done talking."

"But we already figured it out. I am not the person you are looking for."

"Which I don't understand. Do you know how hard it is to find you? When I first saw you, you were eight, I had to take a step back because I do not feel comfortable harming kids. The angels made you transfer schools so it will be difficult for me to catch you again. Then I saw you in that mall and you were still not of legal age so I had to wait a little longer. But of course, the angels pulled you far from me again and made your family move to a different house. They always do this. They love this game of chasing." She brushed her hair annoyingly.

I still think she's crazy.

"You really should stop watching fantasy shows or reading fantasy books. That's the only suggestion I could give you."

"This is not fantasy, Brianna! This is reality. Angels, demons, Heaven and Hell. They are all real and unfortunately, we ought to play their stupid games!"

"I do not really believe in those."

"Huh?"

"You said that I am an angel but it's hard to believe. If I were a believer, I would have felt happy but I am not so, I don't feel anything."

She scratched her head. "But you were supposed to be..."

"What is this 'angel' thing anyway? Can you explain that to me? At least?"

"You are an angel that has the ability to reincarnate as a human as many times as you can.”

I furrowed my brows.

"Still nothing?"

I shook my head.

"You are supposed to remember all of your memories. It doesn't matter how many reincarnations because you are an angel. You don't forget. That's how the rules are."

"Silly."

She raised a brow. “I really now think I got the wrong person. You are Brianna Cho, right?”

I twirled around as if I were showing off my dress, "yes. I am that person."

"What are you doing?"

"Properly introducing myself," I answered proudly. "I took ballet when I was younger."

She grimaced in disgust.

I frowned, "you're mean, you know that?"

"This is very tricky. How did I get the wrong person when I've been following you for a while now? I mean, yes. I do lose sight of you sometimes but...” She took out the same photo from earlier. "But you look a lot like her."

"Maybe a long-lost twin? Doppelganger? Or simply a lookalike? A lot of people are born with the same faces even though they are not related to each other. You know that, right?"

"I know that but I am very sure it's you."

"How so?"

She shrugged, "I could feel it. The presence in you. Your angelness."

I snorted, "You are far too gone, girl. You are far too gone." I patted her back because I felt a bit sorry.

She's crazy. No, mad. She's as mad as a madhatter.

"And your eyes..." she stared at my brown eyes.

"My eyes?"

"They are the same. When a soul gets reincarnated, they maintain one feature. Some maintain the freckles, beauty marks, birthmarks, or the way they smile or the way they talk...and a lot more. For you, it's your eyes."

I hit her jokingly, "Stop staring at my eyes. You're making me blush."

Maybe...maybe if I act too playful, she'll get annoyed and she will let me go?

Yeah, that might be a good plan.

She removed my hand from her, "stop it. You are not anywhere close to adorable."

My mouth fell open. Now I miss Sofia giving me compliments. "Ha! Sofia!"

"Huh?"

"I just remembered. She was with me last night. She is probably looking everywhere for me!" I rushed towards the door that probably leads back to the building. I can't believe this woman just let me sleep on this cold roof.

"You are not going anywhere yet," she pulled me by my hand. "We have got lots of things to talk about still. I cannot let you leave just like that. What if you're playing with me? Huh? I need to make sure first."

"What do you plan to do?"

"Tag you along with me while I search for the real Brianna Cho."

"But I am Brianna Cho!"

"Same name? Your name is not that unique."

"How many more insults do you have with that tongue of yours?"

"Insult? I am not insulting you. I am just stating a fact. Your name is really not that unique."

I bit my lower lip.

"Cho is a very well-known family name in Asia. Brianna is a common name in the States. Combine both and your name is really just...not as unique as you think it is."

I pinched her shoulder.

She groaned in pain.

"First, you took me out of my old friend's birthday party, you made me sleep on the rooftop, you told me that I am not adorable, and now you insult my name? You think you look fine?"

Honestly, she does. She looks like a model. But I am not going to admit that I like the way she looks.

"Calm down, Brianna. I really am not trying to insult you." She massaged the part of her arm that I just pinched. "But fine, I apologize."

I turned the knob of the door but it won't budge.

"It's locked."

"Then open it!" I ordered.

"The only way to get out of here is to use teleportation."

"Then teleport us the way you teleported us last night."

"No way. You are naughty."

"So? You basically kidnapped me. If anything, you are the naughty one." I glared at her but all of my angst disappeared when my stomach started growling.

"Pfft," the woman bit her lip to prevent a laugh.

"Can we eat first, at least?" I shyly asked.
