Super Star(1)

It is a beautiful Saturday morning in August. The weather is hot, and so is a boy's heart. A charming boy is walking out of a car, Dan, is what people call him. He walks along with his family and seems a little nervous. He has a face that attracts girls around him, a face that's mixed with Japanese and British. Dan and his family just arrived at a baseball stadium, Victoria Park.

"Wow, look at this place. You are going to play baseball here from now on." says one of Dan's older sisters, Ivy. "Are you looking forward to starting your new career here? In Baku Fighter?" Ivy asks.

"Hello, sir? Are you here with us?" Asks another sister, Amy. She waves her hand in front of him, making sure her little brother is with them.

Dan grabs the hand to stop it so he can have a better version, "Stop it." and he speaks.

"Girls, leave him alone. Let him enjoy the moment." The father, Eric, glances at his children and smiles. He walks ahead of his children, turning back to check on them from time to time.

Dan, an eighteen-year-old teenager, who graduated from high school around one month ago, is walking with his family to the stadium to sign the first contract in his career. He was picked by the Baku Fighters one months ago and is also their first-round draft pick. The Fighters is a professional baseball team in the FBL (Formosa Baseball league).

A man is waiting for them at the entrance of the stadium. He sees Dan coming and approaches him and introduces himself, the General Manager of the Baku Fighters, Paul. Dan is not only their first-round pick but also the biggest promotion of the team because he's a local boy, eighteen years in Baku and was selected by the hometown team. Being chosen by his favorite team is like a dream come true to him.

Paul greets Dan and his family with a warm smile and handshaking. "You must be Dan. I've been looking forward to meeting you." He offers his right hand to Dan to show the welcome to him. Paul takes them to his office after quick hand shakes and a short conversation.

They enter the stadium then get to the office, and Paul holds the door for Dan and his family. People are already sitting and waiting inside. In the office, Dan takes a seat and starts to meet some staff on the team, and a man looks familiar to him. He recalls that he saw the man many times on and off the field. He didn't know he was a scout and worked for the Fighter until he introduced himself. Everyone welcomes him to join the big family.

Paul presents Dan the contract. He then takes a look at it. It's still hard for him to believe that he will become a professional baseball player once he puts his name on it. He takes a deep breath then grabs a pen. The pen is held tightly in his hand. He moves his wrist and starts to sign his name. He can feel his hand shaking lightly. Everyone is watching the moment with no sound. Dan finishes signing and hands the contract back to Paul. People begin the biggest applause for the shining future of the young man and the team in the office.

After finishing the contract, Paul gives Dan and his family a tour inside the stadium. He shows them their dugout, the shower room and the gym. Inside the locker room, Dan sees his locker and his jersey hanging, No.1, a new beginning for him. He is really excited about everything that is going on around him, becoming a professional baseball player, pitching for his hometown and exploring the unknown parts of the stadium he always visited with his father. When the tour of the stadium's over, Paul takes Dan to the office and sees the manager, Jack Wu, sending his family to the VIP room to rest. They open the door of the office, and a man with glasses is sitting on the chair.

Paul knocks the door to have Jack's attention, "Jack. Do you have a minute?" Then he goes.

Jack sees them and replies. "Sure. What is it?"

"Dan, this is our manager, Jack Wu, and Jack, this is Dan." Paul takes Dan to Jack and introduces each of them to another.

Jack walks to Dan with a smile and says "Hey, isn't this our future super start? How are you doing, champion?"
