Chapter 8

Sam snorted heavily at Sofia's stupidity. The woman seemed to regret his words.

"Honey, since when did you come home? I didn't hear the sound of your car!" said Nico, reviewing the smiles at both corners of his lips.

"I-yes baby, I just came!" replied Sofia, biting her lower lip.

"Em, who are you coming home with?" slured Nico.

"I got home in a taxi," Sofia said.

"Oh, I think you're coming home with Sam," Nico nodded.

Sam who was standing behind Sofia snorted heavily. His face was very upset.

"No dear, Sam is having a meeting in the office," Sofia replied glancing at an annoyed Sam. "I don't want a new driver, baby. Here there is already Mang Ujang," Sofia debated.

"Mang Ujang is old, baby! I'm afraid if something happens on the same street. Especially now that you're out of town often. I'm afraid you'll take the car alone." Nico directed his gaze at Sofia who sculpted not far from the door by pretending to be blind.

Sam gently touched Sofia's inflamed shoulder.

"Don't tell me because there's Sam, honey?" said Nico making Sofia even more nervous, her white face instantly red.

"It's not like that, baby!" Sofia clucked in annoyance. Nico could hear the woman's babbling.

"Okay, if you don't want to. Let Jodi be my driver. After all, when Mang Ujang delivered you I was also confused to find someone who could take me when I was bored at home. But when you go out of town, Jodi has to come with you," Nico said, putting emphasis on the end of his sentence.

Sofia let out a deep sigh. Glancing at Jodi who was caught in that difficult situation.

"It's up to you! I want to go to the office again. There was a meeting with Mr. Suryo," Sofia said annoyed.  She stepped foot towards the exit followed by Sam behind his back.

Nico pretends not to be looking in front of his new driver. He asks Jodi to deliver him to the house of Mr. Aris, secretary of Nico's trust who has been fired by Sofia for asking the replacement doctor to perform surgery on Nico, which actually brings healing for Nico.

"Sir, we have reached the beautiful housing complex number 201, but why is the house so quiet, sir?" said Jodi circulating her gaze around the two-story house in front of her.

Nico realized that the house he gave to Secretary Aris as an inventory seemed deserted from outside the fence. However, there was a car parked in the garage of the house.

"I want to get down Jodi," Nico said.

"Good sir!" Jodi who had since noticed Nico from the rearview mirror of the car rushed down and opened the car door for Nico. Then helped the man into the house.

Jodi knocked on the door of the two-story house in the elite housing estate. While Nico waits behind Jodi's back.

"Who?" a large tall man emerged from behind the open door of the house.

Nico was surprised to see the man who appeared behind the open door of the house was not Mr. Aris, his private secretary.

"The man is out, sir!" said Jodi.

Nico carved a smile, even though he knew the man standing inside the door wasn't the one he was looking for.

"Good afternoon, sorry for the time," said Nico kindly.

The man standing in the doorway had noticed Nico with a strange look.

"Yes, good afternoon!" he replied looking from toe to toe Nico's head.

Nico's face changed. "I'm sorry, is Mr. Aris there?" asked Nico.

"Mr. Aris, who is Aris, sir?" replied the man frowning.

"Mr. Aris who lives in this house!" cried Nico.

"Sorry, I don't know Mr. Aris and I just rented this house two weeks ago," the man said.

"Who did you rent it from?" asked Nico.

"From Mr. Samantha."

Nico's eyebrows are heavily raised. His face stiffened slightly. Several times he sighed long to dampen the rumbling that was inside the chest.

"Well, maybe I'm wrong person!" said Nico smiling sarcastically.

"Yes sir!" replied the man inside the door.

Throughout the journey, Nico was just speechless with a thought face. Several times Jodi glanced at Nico from the rearview mirror that was on the wheel.

"Pity, this blind man has been betrayed by his wife!" muttered Jodi in a soft voice staring pity at Nico.

"Jodi, are you talking about anything?" said Nico, making Jodi stumble. He thought that Nico had been daydreaming since then, not hearing his words at all.

"No, sir! It's possible that you misheard," Jodi replied stammeringly. "Sir, where are we going?" said Jodi, switching the conversation.

"I'm hungry, just stop by Solaria," Nico replied.

"Well sir!" replied Jodi nodding, one of her legs immediately stepped on the gas pedal deep enough and drove the car at a moderate speed.

Thirty minutes of the car Jodi was driving finally arrived in front of a fast-food restaurant in the capital.

"Pick the bench in the corner of the room, Jodi! I'm lazy to meet anyone," Nico exclaimed.

"Okay, sir!" replied Jodi. Nico circulated his gaze around the sizable restaurant.

"There, sir!" replied Jodi. Nico nodded and was ready to point his stick at the bench in the corner of the room.

Moments later, a waiter came to Nico's desk. After ordering, the two men seemed to be waiting. Nico was just speechless with a thought face while Jodi seemed busy with his device.

"Jodi, if my wife asks you something, don't tell me if we went to the housing earlier," Nico said. Almost the phone in his hand fell off.

"I-yes, sir!" replied Jodi stammeringly. For a moment the look in his eyes looked at Nico with a strange look. But Jodi, it doesn't matter. For Jodi, Nico is just a blind man. Jodi then turned her gaze back on the phone in her hand.

"Please, sir!"

The maid put all of Nico's orders on the table.

"Thank you!" replied Nico.

By fingering, Nico took the plate, then filled the plate with freshly cooked steak.

Jodi watched Nico, he seemed surprised to see Nico could do it himself.

"Don't be surprised if I can do everything myself, Jodi. For a year now I've been used to doing anything myself," Nico said to Jodi's amazement.

Jodi pulled both corners of her lips smiling slightly. "Yes sir!" replied Jodi.

Nico enjoyed the meal. One hand fed the pieces of meat that he had cut into the mouth. Also with Jodi, the young man seemed very devoured.

Nico's hand movements momentarily stopped, his eyes fixed on the glass wall of the restaurant around him bordered by glass.

"Sam!" in Nico's mind noticed the man walking with a woman with a stomach filled. "Who's that woman, why I've never seen her." Nico watched closely, afraid that his eyesight was lying.
