Issue #16

Jack was watching over a joint training exercise between the Hellions and Inquisitors when he got a phone call. Looking down at who was calling him, Jack smiled as he answered.

"Sup, Nat?"

"You do know that I have security cameras that cover literally every inch of my room right?"

"Of course. You told me about them several times."

"Awesome. So you know that I would have seen you enter my room this morning. Why did you decide to just leave those dead bodies in my bed when you decided to enter my room without permission?" Natasha asked, cutting up one of the bodies that were in her bed

"Cause I saw that you were completely unharmed and perfectly fine sleeping surrounded by men. I didn't want to disturb your sleep. Dust! Block out their line of sight. You are a living sandstorm. Go wild!" Jack made sure to continue his job supervising the teams

"That was because I was exhausted from having to complete 3 missions in a row and did not feel like dealing with HYDRA assassins last night. You are so lucky that Steve did not walk in on that scene and I didn't have to explain it to him," Natasha threatened while pouring more chemicals into her bathtub

"How is it my fault if your husband finds you in bed with a bunch of men whose necks have been snapped? You should have cleaned them up yourself!" Jack complained. "Kid Omega! Mercury! You both owe me 30 minutes after this training session. I didn't say you can take a break!"

"Because you found me before he did. And as a good friend, you should help me when you know I am innocent," Natasha could just imagine what Steve would have looked like if he walked in on that scene.

"My bad. Next time I enter your room without permission and while you're unconscious, I'll make sure to help you get rid of the bodies before your husband finds out," Jack finally said what he knew she wanted to hear but in the most sarcastic tone, he could utter. Natasha did not seem to pick up on the sarcasm.

"Thanks, buddy. Speaking of spouses, when are you and Emma finally going to tie the knot?" Natasha started dumping the parts of the body she had next to her into the tub

"Next May. We planned on sending out the invitations in October. Still want that plus two invite so you can bring Steve and an assassin?"

"Har-dee-har-har. That was so funny I had to laugh in a way that I never laugh at it," Natasha spat out. "A normal invitation will be good enough for me. Will it just be between you and Emma or will Emma be having some sister wives?"

"Hopefully she will be having some sister wives but I have yet to actively pursue any women. Been a little too busy lately and also need to make sure I get her permission before I start pursuing these other women," Jack explained his burdens to Natasha without worry. The woman was THE super-spy, so she was the best at keeping secrets.

"You have looked in the mirror right? At least 70% of the single women over there must be interested in you. All you have to do is lift a hand and an army will come flocking over to you," Natasha said as she started to move away from the table. Jack could hear a bubbling sound coming from Natasha's side.

"Of course there are but I am no longer the child once was. I was born poor and not wanted. I could only take what others gave me. When I became a mutant was the first time I was given choice. And I only choose the best now," Jack said proudly.

Jack was not just talking about women like Natasha thought. He was also thinking about powers and skills. His powers revolved around him constantly choosing the best.

"My, my. How greedy of you," Natasha teased

"Of course," Jack paused, thinking of how he wanted to make his proposition. Instead of saying what he wanted, he had to ask something of her first "Natasha. In the future, I plan to make some large changes. Some changes that Steve will most likely disagree with but I think we will be for the best. Between the two of us, who would you stand beside?"

The other end of the phone was silent except for some occasional bubbling and gurgling that could be heard. It took Natasha about a minute before she finally spoke up.

"Steve has always stood up for the little guy while thinking about the bigger picture. This makes him hard to predict so I understand your worry. But even if he opposes what you plan to do, know that I will stand with you. You are the kindest little bastard that I know."

"Hmm. Not sure if that was supposed to be a compliment but I will reluctantly accept it," Jack complained about Natasha's words for him

"Haha. Well, you should. And I can also give you a piece of info. Since I got curious about why you were here, I did some snooping around and found out was because of Rogue and Ms. Marvel. And from the bug, I have in her room, I learned that Rogue seems to be very interested in you and has decided to ask Emma about pursuing you."

Hearing this piece of news, Jack was very surprised. He didn't think that Rogue would be that interested in him but when he thought about her lack of true physical contact with others, he felt it made sense.

"Interesting. Thanks for that. Guess I will know what happens tonight when I join Emma in bed tonight."

"Glad to be of help. Now I need to clean up the rest of my room before Steve gets back from his next mission. I'll talk to you later, Зайчик."

"Later, Рыбка."

Jack hung up the phone with a bright smile on his face before turning his attention back to the danger room. In the time that he had been focusing on his call with Natasha, they had managed to destroy the 5 Sentinels he sent after them.

Jack saw that they were all uninjured and didn't seem to be too out of breath.

"Good job, guys. Now run it back with 7 of them."

Even if he was in a good mood, Jack wasn't going to go easy on these squads' training.
