This is a fanfic of Tyranny of Steel by Zentmeister. Flavio Russo, an engineering officer attached to the same unit as Julian Webber comes underfire from the taliban in the final days of US involvement in Afghanistan, where he much like his good friend meets his untimely demise. However, death is not the end, as Falvio is reborn in an alternate Rome where fantasy blends with history. As a lowly peasant Magnus Lucius Aurelius must survive the brutality of classical antiquity, and use his knowledge of his past life to strive for greatness.
