Suspicions

Elijah tried to read Max's expression but couldn't.

Max is smart enough to hide his mind no matter what problem he has. Maybe it's because he's a tattoo artist who won't be able to do his job properly if he's unable to control his mind.

"I'll find out." "For a while, you can stay here, not in a hotel or motel," Max said.

"I did plan that."

Elijah made an indifferent gesture with her body and smiled triumphantly when she saw Max accept it. She then decides to be more patient with Max in order to achieve her objectives. She plans to be soft and start running it now.

"I know you're also curious what's behind my mother's death, right?"

She could see Max reacting to her words. It made her expectations soar a little.

"I don't have anyone to talk to about my mother." Last night, I felt a lot of chaos. "I stopped at the jam bar; it looks like you already know that," she said, lowering her head. The fact that Max left her blushing in the jam room answered her question about where he went by leaving her in that unpleasant position.

"I think you're right; I'm rash in that mess." I didn't know what to do. The only thing I thought about was why she should be found in such circumstances.

"Why did she have to go back there and leave me alone abroad?"

"Why did she choose to be terrible rather than happy with me?" Elijah finally felt able to vent her feelings properly.

"Then I thought the only way to find that answer was to go to that place." Then I learned from Jam that the Underground, unlike his bars, is not open to the public. The Underground is closed, and I have to go in with special access—insiders, for example. or someone who specifically went there to do business. that must also be recognized as an Underground member. I asked Jam further about the membership, but he couldn't tell me. He claimed to know nothing, then he said you know better than him because you often take women there. For the rest, he didn't give me the perfect picture. "You know, in a drunken state he could talk about all sorts of things, but for this one, he really locked his mouth."

Elijah could see Max wasn't quite happy with her explanation.

"Well, something almost happened that I didn't plan for either, but I managed to master the situation and escape from there," Elijah said, as she hoped it would be enough to clarify the reason why her blush was left in Jam's room.

"There's no need to explain in detail," Max said as he picked up a pack of cigarettes from a drawer.

"Tell me everything." Start from the beginning. How your life was there at first came down to the voice character of the person who called you, "Max order."

Max's speech sounds like an interrogation plot for Elijah, but she doesn't mind because it shows Max's interest in her mother's death. Her hopes of finding answers soared as she began to recall the events of her relocation.

"Well, you know, after saying goodbye to you that day, we left straight away."

"Um, no, mom went somewhere, returned around midnight, and drove me straight to the airport."

"Actually, I'm not comfortable with the time my mother chooses to travel, but what can be done?" The journey to the destination is risk-free. "I've set up a house on the outskirts of town."

"The area is adjacent to a very large farm. The view is incredible. I thought we'd spend some good days there forever. Just live alone. "Mom's money won't run out because she has property assets and a variety of other incomes; this calms me down and makes me think that we really don't need to go from there and we don't have to be actively working anymore."

When her eyes meet Max's eyes, she knows Max also gives her pause, a chance to breathe, and resets her memory.

"Everything was perfect for a week until that day." "I didn't smell toast or cook anything as a morning snack; mom usually makes something." It was 12 p.m. when I saw the wall clock. I rushed out of the room because I thought I missed the morning snack. "In fact, I didn't miss our morning snacks; I missed an opportunity to stop my mom from leaving me again."

"At that point, I realized Mom had given me sleeping pills the night before." I didn't realize it because I thought the tea my mother made must be safe. She did it so I wouldn't hear anything. I ran to her room. There's nothing. The stuff is clean; just the smartphone is left. She deliberately left her phone off, so I couldn't reach her. I discovered that the car does not exist; I am alone.

"There was no direct farewell, nor was there a note." If she had made a note and put it in the fridge, maybe I'd have felt better. I didn't do anything that day. Eating, drinking, and sleeping—I forgot everything. I just sit dumb in a pretty luxurious house, which can be called a villa, in a city that I still don't know. "I can't cry, Max."

"The next day, I heard the news." I don't know if I'm happy or sad. I swear that my mother will never come back, if necessary, forever. The universe is like granting my request: "I just came to the autopsy department; I don't even really remember how I got there alone."

Elijah lifted her face and looked at Max with an expressionless face.

"You don't know for sure that you travel alone, do you?" "Someone directed you?"

Ah, I remember. That person's voice sounded low in my ears. A deep, low voice—ah, I don't know how to describe it. You're right; he told me how to get a ticket. He said he had prepared it and simply picked it up at the counter. Once I got there, I just had to say my name. The counter attendant gave me an executive business flight ticket.

"It saves you from having to take public transportation." You will go straight to the destination airport. "What else is there after that?"

"You're right, I went straight to the airport," he mentioned without transit. "Once there, I just need to take a taxi to the autopsy department, that's all."

Elijah sees Max thinking about something. One thing is clear: Max suspects something. Even so, she wouldn't force Max to tell her.

So, who's calling?

"Elijah, did that person call your phone?"

"Ung, no, it was my mother's phone that seemed to be deliberately left behind. That's why I think my mother threw me out, and I cursed her all out."

Her voice was upset, and she was sorry to be one.

Had she known what had happened to her mother, the exploited would never have slid out of her mouth blindly, Max thought.

"You brought it?"

Elijah was confused.

"The phone," said Max.

"Oh yes, it's in the bag."

Elijah then searched for her bag.

"It should be around here."

Max heard Elijah muttering confusedly around his TV desk. If the allegations are true, then this is something serious. He rushed to look for Elijah's bag. He remembers Elijah throwing her bag before standing waist-length in front of a bookshelf and making a shocking statement. At that time, he also did not care about shabby canvas bags, which now became very important.

"Max?"

Elijah's voice was filled with tension.

"I think someone took your bag." That person sneaked in here. "You didn't hear anything?"

Elijah stood stiff.

"Wait...."

Max realized what scared Elijah. Whoever sneaked in last night, if that person went up to the second floor and opened his room, then that person would find Elijah, but whoever that person is, they didn't do anything. The position of the furniture in the house also remains the same. There's no change. This person tried not to leave a trace.

"Max... " "Didn't you, the one who called me here, come with me?" Elia asked in horror.

"You can be sure that I didn't harm your mother by making you come here like that." Last night, I thought I just needed to control you because of that... Sorry..."

Max approached Elia, who retreated, terrified, a few steps away from him. Max tried to hug Elia.

"If that person had been after you, he or she would have searched the entire room in this house to find you." That person is just looking for your mother's phone; I think there must be something in it.

Max then invited Elijah to sit on the sofa. They sit side by side.

"I'll find out, but you promise not to walk alone." "Whatever you think, and if you feel someone is stalking you, you should tell me,"

"I also want to find out why Bibi was found in the hotel in such circumstances. I also knew that the police wouldn't be able to do much because the Bibi network was not made up of ordinary people. "Something must have happened behind her death."

Max tries to stay calm as he conveys his allegations to Elijah. He couldn't ignore Elijah's gaze, which asked him to continue his conjectures. After all, he also began to be sure there was no other choice but to tell her. Those who were after Elijah might make them cooperate.

"When I heard the news, I thought you were safe abroad." I was working on a plan when you came last night. "Although I could have guessed you would appear, I didn't expect you to show up that fast."

"I thought I could keep this a secret from you and come to you later if everything was clear, but now it's clear that your mother's death was related to a plan." Your mother's phone must hold a lot of information. Only that person and I can contact you. "I just need to find that person."

Max looked into Elijah's eyes deeply and said, "Your mother is not working as a prostitute." "I know she is not that kind of woman."

Max saw both of Elijah's eyes shine for the first time. It made his heart beat. That happy atmosphere made him feel relieved to have said it.

Max was surprised when Elijah hugged him. A moment later, he heard Elijah cry. She cried for the first time with a very loud voice.

Max couldn't guess what she was thinking. Even so, he tried to find a solution to raise spirits.

"I will make Fried Javanese Noodles; we have to replenish the energy to think and find that person."

Elijah looked at him with disbelief. That look contained a question: "You're kidding." "In this state, how could I eat?"

"You have to eat." "You're having a long journey, drinking alcohol, and doing that adult act; it's time to recharge your energy," Max said.

"Before we don't have the time and interest in food, we'd better eat good, healthy food now."

"What the hell do you mean?" "I'd like to know more about my mother if you could offer me some food," Elijah said. It should sound like anger, but it ends up being loud and sweet in Max's ears because Elijah has just cried.

"There's still a long time." "I'll tell you," Max said cheerfully.

"Can I eat later?" "And also include me in your plan, please."

"Well, now that I want to, circumstances are forcing me not to leave you." "You should be on my watch."

Elija smiled widely and excitedly. That expression also made Max happy. Although he can imagine how hard their journey will be, he still can't avoid his desire to find out the truth behind the death of Elijah's mother, whom he has also loved so much. Plus, now he knows how Elijah could come here unprepared. Everything has been governed by something that may not be self-dealing.

While cooking, Max's mind continued to talk, considering many things. Elijah and I probably have something that person wants from Bibi. We just didn't realize it.

Maybe something was hidden separately by Bibi. One is on me and the other is on Elijah, or not at all, and that person thinks so? But what's that? A thing? Or money? If it were just money, maybe they wouldn't need me and Elijah.

In that case, whatever it was, that person had to combine with us to get it.
