Attack

Max slid with his car towards the Jam Bar. Soon the night, the bar will be crowded with visitors. I saw it first, Max thought. Fuck! Did Elia lie to me? She claims to have been to the Autopsy Department but Won never met her or is there someone who intentionally plays the situation? Something was right with the way Elia got to my house. Then why did she stop by the Jam Bar first? Is it just a diversion so that I don't quickly suspect that Elia is being controlled? Or... Max stopped thinking. Eager to be able to press the gas pedal deeper but the road in front of it is covered by cars that are running creeping.

Max recalled what had happened recently. He took a deep breath and exhaled it slowly. Some of the images bring themselves. It comes to Max's mind. Like a movie recording replayed by no one from his memory center.

Max looked again at the moment when Elia appeared at the door. He focused the power of his memory on the cat he saw behind Elia, peering out of the crack of his fence. The blue-eyed flower-haired cat lit up watching her home at the time. The cat had been passing by often and was looking for a warm place to rest as usual so he let it go.

Turns out that creature's been watching me all this time? Max asked questions about the room and the time in those days.

While watching the traffic, Max again remembers the cat fur he found on the doorstep of his secret room the same as the street cat he pitied. It's just a disguise. His true form is not that small and sweet. Fuck! I was fooled. So what happened to Jam at that time? I don't think there's anything strange.

Max tried to remember the details of the day. Jam's private room was as cluttered as ever. Jam's attitude was also as messy as ever just as the condition of his room.

Hopefully, he doesn't know anything, I hope he doesn't pretend let alone stab me in the back. Max can guess the big picture. That's bad because it makes him nervous.

With a little bit of imperception, Max finally arrived at the Jam Bar. He parked smoothly and then scattered in. Even though it was just opened, there were already some people drinking. Max walked in and sat down in front of the bartender.

"Where's Jam?" asked Max, the full-time worker.

"Oh, Boss Max," the full-time worker flipped over, cheerfully playing an ice cube slicer knife. "Boss Jam? Well, that's it," his chin pointed towards the entrance.

"Hi! I just got from your house, because you weren't there so I came back, I didn't expect you to be here," Jam greeted with open arms, then shook Max's shoulder. That carefree tone made Max vent his worries on Jam.

"Well, why look for me?"

"Why? Yes, to comfort Elia, I think she's still in your house. Three days ago I went to your house, but you were not there. Travel? Why not ask if it's a way to comfort her heart?"

"Three days ago did you come to my house?"

"Hush! Don't do that. Of course, after the incident, I felt bad, so during the afternoon, not late afternoon, after my hangover, I went to your house, but well... I'd love it if you just want to be alone with her. Well, now where is she?"

I was already at the Melianor Mansion, maybe even in the Pegunungan Sakral, Max replied silently in his heart. Max took a breath. He coded the part-time work to make him a drink.

"She didn't come here?"

Max shook his head.

"Then?"

"She's with Melianor."

"Oh, your supermodel girlfriend? Melianor didn't know you were about to sleep with Elia, did she?"

"Your bitch!"

Max realizes that he has returned to his usual world. Melianor had met Jam once and this man thought she was working as a supermodel. All because of Melianor's appearance, height, and carrying, graceful like a world-class supermodel.

"Once she's back, tell me, I'll apologize. I feel bad."

"Okay," said Max convincingly.

The full-time worker already knew Max's taste, so could serve his drink without much questioning. Two minutes later, the music played in the Jam Bar does not distract Max from the various facts he finds. The mystery of Bibi's death is increasingly felt as a threat.

"What the hell? Is the face bent like that?"

Jam back after just saying goodbye to make drinks for customers. Full-time workers are quite overwhelmed at key hours.

"If you're sleep-deprived, just go up and sleep there," Jam ordered. A moment later, he uttered half-words asking, "We need new employees. How do we open a vacancy?"

Max flicked his wrist.

"I think you agree," said Jam.

At that moment, Max picked up his phone. Suddenly he remembered that he hadn't activated his phone for a few days.

"Oh, it's worth it that you're hard to call, handphone on and off?" Jam couldn't believe Max's attitude. "Are you trying hard to keep me away from her?"

"No, that's not the case. I just completely forgot to activate it after I recharged it."

Jam muttered something Max didn't hear. The music in the bar has a hand in making the words of Jam not reach Max's ears.

"Oh yes, Bayusuta and Won are looking around for you too. Maybe it had something to do with Bibi," Jam spoke closer to Max's ear this time.

"I've met Won," Max replied.

"Oh well," said Jam. Just as he said it, Max's handphone had already shown a call from Won. "Waw, just talked about," said Jam inwardly. He noticed Max lifting him quickly, then ran out so he could hear Won's voice.

"Bayu wants to meet in the parking lobby of the forensic building only," Won said. While listening to Max looks right and left, he searches for a place that no one seems to be able to steal hearing.

"What?"

"Bayu wants to meet in the parking lobby of the forensic building," Won repeated.

"I said at the Jam Bar," Max said.

"No. He refused. Well, talk to him for yourself," said Won, who paused as he gave his phone to Bayusuta who was standing in front of him. Among them was a table with a corpse similar to Bibi's.

"Hello, Max. I've been looking for you all this time," Bayusuta's voice sounded deep.

"Ah, I'm traveling for a while. Why not just meet at the Jam Bar? I'm waiting here," Max asked.

"No. It's not safe there. I don't think you can trust Jam and the people around him," Bayusuta said.

"What?"

"I'll explain later. Come here, the forensic lobby feels perfect for speaking."

Max jumped on his forehead. The lobby was indeed in an inner area, away from people's traffic. The problem is, if something happens unexpectedly, it will be difficult to avoid or escape. Max thought for a while, then he remembered something that might help him if an urgent condition arose.

"Okay, I'm going there."

What does it mean not to believe in Jam? Max asked himself as he ran to his car. He didn't have to say goodbye to Jam as usual. Coming and going, leaving each other suddenly is nothing new between them.

When he started the car engine, Max felt bad news coming to him again. He had not found the answers to his questions before, now a new question has emerged. Unlucky! My head wants to break, Max squeezes his forehead.

On the way he remembered Grandma Insun's message again, staying eling and alert. Those words echoed in the depths of Max's heart. One sentence was enough to make Max calm down. If this is a trap, I should go out and go back to Melianor. She should know what I know. In addition, Elia... Is she an enemy or part of us?

An hour later Max arrived at the parking lobby of the forensic building. The feel of the building's lobby was uncomfortable. A cat doesn't want to sneak in there. Only the spirit dwells there and does not want to move.

Max parked his car carefully. He saw Bayusuta standing leaning against his jeep while smoking a cigarette. He stepped on the rest of his cigarette with his shoes when he saw Max approaching him.

"Sorry, long wait?" Max walked over while reaching out to shake hands with Bayusuta. The helping hand was greeted with handcuffs. One handcuff was on Max's arm, and the other on Bayu's arm.

"What the hell?!" Max glared.

"Since I have to talk to you," Bayusuta replied casually and flat-face.

"This is what you call talking?"

Max, who remained alert, was shocked by the sudden attack from the other side unseen by him. The creature emerged from the darkness. Bayusuta is dragged by the sudden move of Max.

"You're making things difficult!" Max jolted at Bayusuta. In front of them, a human with glowing red eyes acted like a rabies dog.

"Open it!"

The confused Bayusuta finally opened the handcuffs. They have no trouble avoiding the rabies dog attack. Max with his physical strength repelled his attack.

Meanwhile, Bayusuta points a gun at Max and the rabies dog. He was confused, not finding the right firing point because neither the rabies dog nor Max moved quickly.

Max gets hit but can escape the bite of the rabies dog. At that moment, Bayusuta aimed a shot at him.

"Asshole! Are you trying to kill me?" Max shouted. Bayusuta did not answer.

Is he on this mad dog's side? Max quickly thought of the worst possibility.

"You deliberately brought me here to be this dog's food?!"

Max tries to talk to Bayusuta. He didn't see where Bayusuta was, but he could still feel his existence. At the same time, Max hit the mad dog so hard that it couldn't move anymore. Max then searches around where Bayusuta is. As he flips over, he finds Bayusuta at gunpoint and neck-and-neck strangled by an unknown person. Behind that person were two other mad dogs. Max feels the game has just begun.
