"So after clashing with each other for the umpteenth time, they finally saw Lady Roydon sitting on the floor. She was enjoying the show and wondered if they were done because she wanted in on the action. But the true climax was when the both of them knew who she was."

"Because the two of them had not communicated with each other for such a long time, they had no clue that they were being controlled by the Valkyrie."

"What do you mean by controlled? She has the power to control minds?" I asked, utterly confused.

"No, not using Magecraft. At that time, Minwoo was working with the Mages and Mavislin was constantly by his side. The two of them shared like a babysitter to kid bond. She enjoyed his company when he wasn't tasked to do anything. Those were her words."

"When I spoke to Minwoo about it, he mentioned that she would stare at him while he was busy sharpening his sword. And when he was reading about Magecraft, Mavislin offered to show them to him instead, because learning through sight was better than just reading it."

"So that's how they became best friends? I never knew that a Mage and human can hit it off so well..."

"Not really, since she kept biting Minwoo whenever he kept wanting to pet her..."

Well, that goes to show that one should not touch a girl without her permission. Especially when the girl you are petting is a Mage from another with teeth as big as you.

"As I was saying, that was Minwoo's side of the story with Mav. However, for Ashley's side, it was a slight bit more complicated. Instead of just talking or staring, the two met because of Ashley's hatred of Mages. He was told that his friend was killed by her and he sought revenge."

"And the two of them fought each other, with Mavislin emerging as the victor. Since Mavislin was not one to dampen the mood of a battle, she decided to use a weapon of the same caliber as Ashley to fight him. She used a bow against a sniper rifle and still managed to win."

I paused for a second. From what I knew, this altercation happened with Minwoo around, so why would Minwoo be surprised to see that Ashley had faced the Valkyrie before? Perhaps, in this Universe, the events of the past have slightly altered. That's why the voice warned me.

"Hmph."

Ah, looks like the Words Of the World is angry at me.

"Ashley was on a mission to kill the Valkyrie but she bested him within the span of a few minutes. And when that ended, Ashley attempted to flee but was stopped by the Valkyrie, tugging onto his sleeve. She asked if he could stay and talk while having some pastries with him."

"And that sparked the two's bond, with Mavislin promising to never tell anyone about the fact that she knew and was close with Ashley. Hence, when the three of them met, both brothers ceased fire to prevent the Valkyrie from getting hurt. And one thing led to another."

"In the end, Ashley became acquainted with the Mages as the First Pillar of the Barren Pillars. Holding the seat as the FIrst Marksman, Ashley went on missions with Mavislin and Minwoo before his untimely demise by the leader of Husks. The Domains became more stable as well."

"Then, which Domain would you think would be the best? For Mages and ladies."

"Well, you are standing right at the safest Domain amongst the Domains. The Campania has always been neutral to newcomers. However, the Campania favors Mages as well, especially after what the Founders of the Arks did," answered Verna, grinning.

"What did they do?"

"They could've killed off the mastermind behind their oldest enemies; the Husks. But they prioritized the humans first. From what the villagers told us, the Mages proclaimed that the humans' lives were more important than pursuing another Mage."

" 'We walk their earth. We breathe their air.' That was what they said. Ever since then, the villagers have been always welcoming to new Mages. Either those born out of wedlock or those that fell from the stars. The village would always shelter them first."

It sounded interesting and I wondered if he knew how to get into the ranks of the Arks. And then remembered why the name 'Verna' was so familiar to me... He was Bryan. My eyes widened upon the realization. And I froze in my tracks. The descendant of Z, a Galaxian Mage.

The boy who harnesses the power of the Constellations. Who turned his drawings into reality. Bryan 'Verna' Orlaith. By this time, the evening skies had turned into night. And I glanced up to see a splash of stars through the night sky.
