The Meaning Of War And Sacrifice

"Because I can't stand to see or hear another child cry again. Wars aren't fun for the masses, the victims, or the ones who are forced to go on without their families. I'd said that I was titled as the Empress of the Arks. I am the Empress' child of Valokia."

"I was next in line to the throne, and the war that decimated other worlds had finally concluded the place it'd begun. Valokia was at ground zero of everything, and I had to decide to wipe out my entire race. Either that or the Universe continued to burn."

"To save trillions... You risked billions... It's an age-old story, but it works for the long run. I don't blame you. My home had two devastating World Wars, which resulted in over 70 million deaths worldwide. And the climax to stop everything was two bombs that decimated two cities."

"Barely anyone survived the bombings... Millians suffered all because a reason so dumb it'll make a clown laugh. The countries went to war because of revenge and to expand their lands. They released the bombs because it's either they kill the enemy's sides' civilians."

"Or everyone bears the prolonged war. Everyone was starving while fathers died endlessly on the battlefield. Finally, with the two bombs wiping out civilians in such a horrific way, the Second World War came to an end but not without consequences," I explained, shaking my head.

"And to think that the World Wars were held nearly half a century ago from my birth. It seems ironic that the world was entering another war before I died. Do you know how dumb that is? That we've, haven't figured out how to not have wars? It's downright hilarious!"

"To the point of embarrassing! Because humans are so dumb not to understand that all you need to resolve things is to sit down and talk! The basic of things," I elaborated as we continued to walk.

"It might not be the same for you, but I will still care for those who have traveled to a foreign land to live. I wouldn't say I like to attack people unless they are hostile to my family. But once things do clear up, I'd tend to incite them over tea or ask them to join our workforce if they are a Mage."

"If they're human, I would direct them to the nearest village from that area and ask the village elder to take care of them. Some of them asked to work with me, but I would decline since everyone in the Arks has Magecraft. My goal is that someday humans and Mages can thrive together."

"If that wish were to come true, wouldn't the world be a better place?" asked Mavislin, smiling.

"Yes, it would be. I'd wish that my previous world had that same ambition before launching firearms at each other. And you are right; being lonely would be detrimental to my mental health. I do appreciate all you've done for me despite me being hostile first in your eyes."

"I can see from the students you've got that you are great. Bryan's skills as a combatant are fantastic in my book, and his loyalty to you is unmatchable. I am lucky to be trained by you, Lady Roydon," I said, bowing down to her.

We reached the front porch. As I stood in front of the tall wooden doors, Mavislin snapped her fingers. The doors swung open, revealing a large dining hall with a fireplace at the far left corner of the room.

I looked to my left where the kitchen was located. It seems like this entire room was both the living room, dining hall, and kitchen muddled together. I was impressed. That seems like an excellent room design. Food won't get cold because it needs to be in another room.

And if you were feeling peckish, you could hop over to the pantry to grab a snack and sit in front of the cozy fireplace. And to my pleasant surprise, the dining table was so large! It could fit more than a family! But, as I looked around, I found that Clement was busy rushing about.

The poor guy was finishing up lunch preparations with Bryan by his side. Even a chef needs help to cook for so many hungry people. Mavislin took her seat at the table while gesturing for me to sit beside her. Raiyen took the seat next to her while Z sat beside me.

Sir Noble sat in front of Z while High Queen Meslander was at the end of the table, between the former gentlemen. Clement told Bryan to join the dinner table first, so he sat right in front of me, beside Baldwin and the Flower Mage. The Headmaster sat at the other end of the table.
