A New Kid To Join

"Bryan, please get Tomoe into the room and whoever is helping us out on the Mission," I ordered, having no choice but to settle on plan bravo.

The Slayer nodded and dashed off to find the Kitsune. Now then, let me see... Splitting up might sound bad, but it's our only option in this case. However, since we are under a time constraint, we must deal all in one shot to ensure the enemy doesn't team upon us.

Mavislin would be with Fabian Brookes, so I don't have to worry about him suddenly popping out, but I'm not sure if there will be small enemies throughout these branches.

Most games I've played usually as weaker opponents acting like guards of the area so they can wear us down by the time we meet the actual bosses. And another thing is to delegate which of us is going to face which kid at the same time.

Moving as a group now would be suicidal since all corners would surround us. So plan bravo is to split up and take down the mini-bosses simultaneously so we don't be targeted as a group. I can easily take down any of the stated children, but I wasn't sure about Bryan.

Tomoe is going up against Raijin to settle unfinished scores. I would place myself to go against the Black Knight since I have enough information on her to win that battle. The Black Knight's fighting style was similar to mine, so it's a match.

That leaves two kids that we have to face after defeating the first ones. But, wait, is Raiyen coming to help? I can't remember. He had vanished near the end of yesterday's discussion, and I had no clue if he was interested in the Mission in the first place.

Before I could think about it for longer, Bryan returned with more people than I had expected. Tomoe was to be expected, and it turns out the Time Mage, with an hour of pleading by the Valkyrie, has eventually agreed to join the group.

"Sorry, I couldn't say no to his pleas since he might make me high-five Jesus. I think you haven't met him yet, Lizzie," said Bryan, as a skinny boy came out from Bryan's shadow.

I nearly lost balance as the kid stuck his hand out to greet me. Ah, so this kid has got the Element of Shadow as well. It seems that he is a master of the craft. The boy looked like Raiyen but malnourished and slightly crack-dependant.

The weird child's attire was a black tunic with an oversized grey coat while wearing black, bolted boots. The kid's eyes were the most perplexing set of eyes I've seen for the past few days; black pupils and purple where the whites should be.

At least the boy's hair was a standard color, jet-black like Raiyen. But his Aura was horrifying, the same type as Baldwin's and those creatures I encountered on my first day.

"Good afternoon, my name is Duncan, and I am the Dementor Pillar of the Barren Pillars. I am looking forward to working with you in this upcoming case even if I'm late to the party," greeted Duncan as I shook his hand.

"Greetings, thanks for the help. My name is Elizabeth, but you can call me Lizzie. I am the new Swordsman Pillar, and I hope we can work together to achieve our end goal for this major Mission," I replied, forcing a small smile.

"So, you're the new First Seat that stole my twin sister's place? I hope you are fit for the role. Also, if you see my twin, you might want to stand back since she is still upset that she lost to a stranger," suggested Duncan with a cocky tone.

If this kid wasn't under the Arks or we weren't in the Old Chapel, he was going home with one less finger than what he woke up with. I couldn't tell if this crackhead of a Mage was a punishment from God or a gift from the devil.

"Yo, don't be too rude to her. You are going on a Mission that Elizabeth is commanding. Whether you are going would be decided by her," warned Bryan, nudging Duncan's side.

"Well, that's not fair. I thought Mother Mav was in command since she's coming along..."

"I'm not letting him help in the Mission! It's much too dangerous!" argued Mavislin, angrily standing up to face the child and Bryan.

"As his mentor, I am confident that Duncan can hold his candle against another enemy. If you are still too worried, you can always request Elizabeth to make him go up against the weakest child out of the targets. Duncan is the only one to pass the actual audition. Give him a chance!"
