Vincent, The Arms Dealer

And what does this guy do to get so much wealth for a living? Of course, a mansion can't happen overnight, and he has to provide for five other mouths. But I'll leave that thought behind as Baldwin and Mavislin talked about the recent sightings of Vincent, Vernice's twin.

"I thought the guy was killed after Li Ling sent the guards out to take him down?" asked Z, shoving food into his chubby face.

I laughed on the inside when it reminded me of seeing my classmate eating ramen for the first time.

"That's what Gillian's Familiars had reported back, but the lower members' recent reports are all against this fact. All of the member's descriptions of Vincent were, all the same, a spitting image of Vernice but walking with a limp and missing an eye," replied Baldwin.

"Was it possible that Gillian's Familiars were tampered with during the scene of the incident?" asked Mavislin, raising an eyebrow.'

"I'd doubt so since Gillian's Familiars are quite powerful for any Mage to alter. It would take someone as powerful as one of us to change the Familiars' vision and go unnoticed by the Headmaster. So I would wage that Vincent was almost killed but escaped under cover of night."

"Three firing squads, over ten guards, and several more fighters wielding sharp objects weren't enough to stop one skinny man?! You must be kidding me, Angry Man!" exclaimed Z.

Whoa... That's a lot to expand to bring down one guy who ran away from the altar. And to be fair, the guy was kidnapped to marry into some random family he had no business meeting. So the man had every right to flee from that place.

"Don't forget that of the twins. Vincent was the only one to have powers. So far, I haven't heard of Vernice showing any sign of Magercraft yet. So it would make sense that Vincent could escape a pack of humans hunting him," added Mavislin, pointing her fork at Z.

"Even if so... It wouldn't make sense that the man is walking around for so long without getting caught by Li Ling's spies. Unless he uses his powers to get off the radar," replied Z, lowering his tense shoulders.

"Baldwin, didn't you say to let you know if Vincent is related to the Mission? Why is that so?" asked the Valkyrie, recalling a previous conversation.

"Ah! I needed to find Vincent because he owed me an explanation about those weapons he was hiding in his backyard. And I'm not talking about just a few guns and several swords. I'm talking about having an entire armory in his house."

"Vincent told me he was making the weaponry and selling it to those who need it within the Mafia at a discount. But, since he hates the Five Kings and declared war on Li Ling by fleeing the wedding, I couldn't allow him to continue functions as an arms dealer."

"When I tried to hunt him down, that started the few months of chasing him down. And with the help of some good souls within the Mafia, Vincent is still alive and selling multiple firearms every day. How he'd manage to create so many weapons is out of my understanding."

"Perhaps Vincent prepared beforehand? Like, he made a bunch of arms before selling it to the Mafia?" asked Z.

"Not possible. I could understand your point if he was selling a few things like a gun or sword. But the Mafia is getting weapons from him daily that could arm everyone in the Briton Domain. It's not a single area. It's the entire Five Domains."

"The Mafia was receiving over a thousand weapons from this single man throughout the Domains. And because the Mafia's trade routes about weaponry dealing are super hidden, the Five Kings or nobility isn't powerful enough to locate Vincent," explained Baldwin.

"Except for us. And it's all thanks to both Clement and Raiyen's expertise and experience in both the Mafia and gathering intelligence. But one thing concerns me... How in the world could Vincent get so many weapons to fuel the military strength of the Mafia?" asked Mavislin.

Creating so many weapons... Wait, isn't there someone who could do the same? No way... Could it be? That's impossible, right? Vania, do you have any records of Vincent Midford and the Iron Canine meeting or allies of each other?

"Notice. These are the results of your search, and these two have met, but not much else is noted. They are acquaintances who share a hobby of firearms and weaponry-making."

Bingo, that's enough evidence to confirm my predictions.

"Uhm, sorry to interrupt, but I think I've got your answer to how Vincent could procure so many weapons on such short notice," I said, raising my voice to gain the three Mage's attention.
