Tomoe's Twelve Suns

NO WAY... Tomoe has the power of Sun?! And to reference such an interesting anime... I can't wait for Tomoe to pull off some moves in front of me! My eyes sparkled for a moment when I was drowning in the thought of seeing the Hinokami Kagura being performed in front of me.

But I quickly shook my head and did some calculations for Tomoe's stats against Vastra. Since my bond level with Tomoe was higher than when we first met, Vania had access to Tomoe's details, but most are still blurred. Indeed, Tomoe's Original Spell is the same as I knew.

I searched for the Ninth Sun and found it was the most powerful move out of the Twelve Suns. Each slash had a fixed amount of attack and an afterburn effect that lasted ten Ticks. However, as I ran the numbers and checked with Vastra's defense, my doubts started to appear.

"What happens if that move doesn't work? From what I've calculated, your attacks won't go through if you were to use the Ninth Sun on Vastra's Final Endless Dune; Temple Of Anubis. So you better be quicker than her or have a backup move to follow up," I explained.

The fox turned back into his humanoid form out of shock, dropping the bags. Tomoe chuckled as he snaked an arm around my waist to pull my body towards him. I saw the Kitsune's grin up close and personal, realizing that he was a charmer. My entire body froze up as he whispered in my ear.

"If I'd use only a single attack, then I must be the fool of the century. But, I am a Kitsune. We've got tricks up our sleeves. Thus, you can never trust a fox like me," murmured Tomoe, giving me a wink.

I would've factory reset Tomoe's heart right there if we were alone. I could feel my blood boiling as he gently squeezed my waist after giving me that flirtatious wink. Bryan glared at Tomoe and cleared his throat, making the Kitsune release me from that awkward position.

Slayer Verna, I owe you an entire five-course meal for saving me from the fox. Or maybe a huge buffet.

"Once a womanizer, will always be a womanizer," complained the Slayer, with an underlying tone of annoyance.

"Hey, you were quite the lady killer before you decided to join the Arks, so I don't want to hear anything from you about seducing girls..." argued Tomoe, pouting.

"I never seduced nor am a lady killer. I was a poor lad, walking around, trying to do my tasks without getting caught or causing trouble. On the other hand, though, I have to admit that some of my tasks needed the attention of some females, so I need to build up a rapport to do so," explained Bryan.

The Slayer's tone changed from being bothered to downright forlorn with the mention of carrying out tasks. Perhaps the guy had done some things in the past that he deeply regretted but had no choice. I was well aware of those feelings, building up bonds that would last only for a while.

The look of betrayal on their faces will always be forever etched into my mind, be it my past life or the present one. Unlike the Pure Mages of this world, human hearts are fragile because we are only given a very short lifespan compared to a Valkyrie's lifetime.

I placed a reassuring hand on Bryan's shoulder to comfort the man and let him know that he wasn't alone in the guilt he was feeling. The Kitsune had transformed into his animal form again, and his fur was all frizzed up in jealousy when he saw me comforting the Slayer.

Raiyen shook his head at his Familiar as I decided to ask the final member of the group how he would take down his target. Though, I was thinking not to since it would seem rude since the Time Mage is a Founder, so his killing should be flawless.

"So, Raiyen, the past few times you've confronted Raijin, the guy has always found a way to come back alive. Do you have anything to prevent that from happening?" I asked, looking at the bored Time Mage.

Raiyen smiled as he pulled a device of sorts from his holster pouch. The Prince of Vigilante was grinning from ear to ear as he proudly showed the small object to me. Upon closer inspection, it was a purple sphere surrounded by floating white lines, three square frames.

Although it was such a simple-looking item, Vania couldn't find anything about the object. The poor girl could only discern that the thing was made out of the Elements of Words and Time. As a result, many error messages were popping out in my interface before Raiyen explained the item.
