Crashcourse: Events of History

"Are you alright now?" asked Tomoe, still embracing me.

"Yes, I never imagined I would have seen such a horrifying thing. Maybe I should tread lightly around that Time Boy from now on..." I replied, glancing at the sleeping Founder.

"Don't worry. If Raiyen decides to harm you in any way, you best bet that I would be there to defend you. As you've seen, I don't like my Master, but I'm forced to be here. And Mavislin is your boss. So you've even got the backing of the Valkyrie if it comes down to that situation."

I murmured a small thank you before closing my eyes to relax. Tomoe snuggled closer as well, with him behind me. The Kitsune placed his chin on my head while I opened my eyes again.

"I've always been curious about something... Was your world the same as mine? Because when I tried to ask Z about this, the world he was from was vastly different from mine. The whole premise was the same, human progression and growth with the use of machinery."

"Anyhow, the countries to lead the entire world weren't the same as mine. And significant events were changed from a technological standpoint. So I'm wondering, is your world the same as Z's or mine?" I questioned, finding the silence annoying.

Tomoe didn't speak for a moment, and I thought I had pulled up some too personal questions for the Kitsune.

"Nope, my world isn't close to Z's world. I think it might be the same as yours, but I can't truly say..."

"How about this, then? Let's state some of the significant events of our world and see if the two are related. I am well-versed in my world's history since I took it as a class," I suggested since I have nothing much to do.

Part of me wanted to continue with the journey, but I've got people on my team who require sleep, and I'm bouncing with energy. I pity Tomoe for staying up with me. Maybe he doesn't need sleep too? But that would explain why Raiyen is sleeping now.

"I don't see any problem with that suggestion. Shall I go first?" answered Tomoe, much to my happiness and cure for my boredom.

I nodded happily as Tomoe shifted to my side.

"Well, we've established that we both know about the legend of Jack the Ripper and the Second World War. So who was the victor of the Second World War on your side?"

"That would be the Allied Forces. The Big Three were mainly the United States of America, the Soviet Union, modern-day Russia, and the United Kingdom. They won by surrounding Hitler's bunk, and everything ended with the mustache man committing suicide."

"That checks out with mine so far... How about the Axis Powers? Who were they in your world?"

"Namely Germany, Italy, and Japan. Italy was brought down rather quickly and was followed by the fall of Nazi Germany. Japan was the last and the most horrific defeat in the entire history books, giving birth to the monsters we learned as 'Little Boy' and 'Fat Man,'" I replied.

"Two nuclear warheads to decimate the Empire of Japan and bring an end to the World Wars at the Asian Continent," chimed the two of us.

We widened our eyes as we recalled how the events had unfolded. Hiroshima and Nagasaki... The fire burns bright in Hiroshima to bring awareness about the pains of nuclear warfare and will not be put out until those monsters are put to rest. They called it the Flame Of Peace.

Tragically, when I left, the flame was still burning bright. Tomoe didn't like the feeling of sadness and dread in the air and opted to talk about something else.

"The Soviet Union and the United States entered an arms race after the war, sparking the Cold War and the coined term of First, Second and Third Countries. The British Empire shrunk as other nations fought for independence after being colonized... Was that the same as your world?"

"Yes, with the bonus of my birth country being one of those nations to fight against the British for independence as they had left us to die during the war. I'm from the Asian side of the world, so I am quite familiar with the history," I answered, piquing Tomoe's interest.

"Is that so? I was under the impression that you were from the Europe side of the world since your fighting techniques are closer to English Swordfighting. And your physical moves I've seen were close to the Greek style of Pankration."

"And it's a bonus that a girl like you could fight so well but have a job of a waitress... An Asian family would never have that slide. Was that a trick to mess with us?" asked Tomoe playfully.
