The Being Who Killed The Primordial Beast

"Yes, there are seven rankings; Snow, Autumn, Sky, Summer, Spring, Ground, and the final would be Night, the highest rank to be qualified to be the Empress. The Valkyrie must be the rank of Spring and above to qualify for a successful shapeshifting attempt."

"The only other way to bypass that requirement is to use other absorption or replacement methods. However, to meet those conditions, the Mage must first kill the being they are aiming to copy," replied the Time Mage as my face twisted into a horrified look.

"WAIT! You're not possibly telling me that... Benjamin had the power to kill a Primordial Beast?!" I yelled, slamming my hands onto the ground in front of me.

"Well, you have to understand that you are comparing a power level of an Earth-level Primordial Beast to a creature that drowned the entire Virgo Cluster in pandemonium. Your expression is what I would have if an Earth dweller slew Leviathan," said Tomoe.

Oops... I'd completely forgotten that I was dealing with creatures of other realms. That would make sense since Valkyries viewed other beings as lower class in power levels. The Valkyries are known to be the most powerful beings in their galaxy.

But Leviathan was also a force to be reckoned with, right? So the Great Empress of the Seas should never have fallen so quickly... I sure hope that's the case because there's no way I would survive an encounter with Benjamin if he could smack Leviathan off the census just like that.

"Judging by his power level ranking, I dare say Benjamin would be at a Night Ranking now, but when he slew Leviathan, he was only considered to be Summer, one rank below the qualified rank to shapeshift. The more a Valkyrie consumes, the more they grow."

"Valkyrie can live forever if they weren't so bent on waging war all the time, so long as they continue devouring flesh. And the saddest thing about it is that the first Empress to not care about conflicts had the shortest reign in Valokian history... Mavislin's mother, the Empress of Kindness."

A beautiful image of a humanoid female with large pale red wings wearing an elegant gown of purple appeared in my vision. An accurate depiction of an Empress with the person's pose was striking. Upon closer inspection, the Empress bore a striking resemblance to adult Mavislin.

Of course, since the two were mother and daughter, I never expected them to look so alike.

"So you are saying... That the Corrupted One killed this Earth's Levithan and played imposter for the next century? I find that super hard to believe. Humans may be dumb, but not so much," I quizzed, trying to wrap my mind around everything.

"That's affirmative, but he was found out by Z, and the two got into a fight. This incident was before Z had joined the Congregation. Soon after, Benjamin had enough power to surface with an army of Husks, made out of missing persons and many dead marine creatures."

That must be a terrifying sight to see. The Night of the Living Dead meets Jaws... I shuddered at the thought.

"Alright, that's for the past events and the first appearance of the Corrupted One... So how are we looking for current affairs? I heard that Z has got some bad news about the ocean again. So playing the same trick twice might be starting to get dry," said Raiyen.

If Benjamin had the power to defeat Leviathan, it would be no surprise that he could win against Tiamat. Also, I had not expected the Corrupted One to go around randomly killing Beasts of old. Is it like his hobby or something? The guy needs to pick up painting or something else.

However, Raiyen does have a point... Why go through the same thing again when your hiding place has already been found?

"From Z's investigation, high amounts of Corruption Elemental Energy were found in the ocean's depths. But we aren't sure if it's Benjamin himself or another one of his echoes. Both are threatening, but an echo would be easier to handle right now."

"It could be another theory that Benjamin is controlling other Beasts to give us false leads since he does have an unhealthy obsession with messing with our strategies. I am positive that this case will not be as straightforward as last time," revealed Raiyen.

"Last time? I thought it took the team quite some time to figure out his identity?" questioned Tomoe, raising his eyebrow.

"We did, but at least there was a connection and that Benjamin was actively participating in the conflict instead of hiding in another corner of the world and controlling his toys. Unfortunately, from the looks of things, the creature of the ocean is still waiting for its seal to be broken."
