Leviathan

"Tomoe, you've mentioned that when Mavislin appeared here, Benjamin followed. But did the Corrupted One only emerge years later or touched down simultaneously as Mavislin?" I asked.

"From the records and Gillian's mouth, the Husks appeared a decade before the Enhanced Soldiers Program. But from what I've got from Z, Benjamin might have arrived at the same time as Mavislin but in a weaker or different form," answered Tomoe, looking at Raiyen for confirmation.

The Time Boy sighed before giving his take on the question.

"Lady Lizzie, do you know about the legend of Leviathan?" asked Raiyen.

"The Great Creature of the Primordial Seas. Born out of God's might and worshipped as a divine figure of old. The Beast is a great deal of trouble that even the fallen angel Lucifer cannot beat its record. The Leviathan is the Christian counterpart of Jörmungandr."

"The ocean creature was part of a Trio of Beasts that God created to rule the three areas of the world. Leviathan ruled the seas, the Behemoth governed the lands, and Ziz controlled the skies. The Beast, in myths, was said to co-rule the city of Atlantis after trying to kill Poseidon."

"Though it varies from different stories, the main occurring gender of the Leviathan would be female. Leviathan would appear to humans as incomprehensible unless she chose to unmask herself. Usually, the Beast is always in the form of a sea serpent."

"As for her personality, the Great Empress of the Seas is known to be withdrawn unless something provokes her. Though she is a monster, Leviathan is still a God of sorts to the people who respected and worshipped her. However, to those who anger her..."

"The Leviathan would prove her title of being the embodiment of chaos similar to its Mesopotamian counterpart, Tiamat. Other than that, the Great Empress is the weakest out of the Trio but the eldest. The power difference is minimal but noticeable at a large scale," I explained.

"Whoa... I'm impressed that you know so much about Christian Folktales... Are you Christian perhaps?" asked Raiyen, nodding his head upwards.

"No, not at all. I just happened to like reading about beasts of different myths. I prefer Greek over Norse, but I don't mind Christian and Babylonian. The Epic Of Gilgamesh is good but hard to keep up though I do enjoy reading about Arthurian legends," I replied.

Raiyen looked very confused but soon shrugged his shoulders. To each their own.

"Ah... Now that's interesting. No wonder you could decipher what Beast we are going up against in the storm at Teuton. From what Gil has told me, Z claimed that the Leviathan sleeping in the ocean's depths was a fake," said Tomoe.

"Well, I did say that the Beast is considered a God incomprehensible to the minds of mortals, so if a human sees one, it will spell death for everyone nearby. Either that or someone was smart enough to blend in to the area, judging by the fact Valkyries are known to be shape-shifters."

"And the guy needed a good hiding place; what's a better place than the ocean's depths? Humans can't reach it, and being in there creates an element of surprise if Benjamin chooses to surface. That's the main reason why I like traveling underwater since smells get lost with water."

"The more I talk to you, the more afraid I become... You sure know how to live life vastly different from young girls. So I'm taking you to flower-picking the next chance I get, Lizzie... But you are slightly incorrect about your statement on Benjamin," contested Tomoe.

"I hate flowers. They make my allergies go haywire, and I would start sneezing up a storm for the next week. But what part of my claim wasn't correct?" I asked, tilting my head.

"Benjamin didn't just copy the Great Empress Of the Seas, and the Valkyrie would have had to reach a certain rank in Magecraft abilities to shapeshift. Mavislin can manipulate her form because she had a royal upbringing and great education. But Benjamin was a different matter."

"According to Mavislin, when her twin was trying to make his wings pop out, the Empress nearly fainted at the sight of Benjamin's wings. The wings were polar opposite to Mavislin's oversized, white wings as they looked like they belonged to a Fallen Angel's back."

"Black and wilting while giving off the scent of death, Benjamin was soon sent to a camp where he would be experimented on and create the horrific Element we now know as the Corruption Element. And because of this problem, the Corrupted One never learned about shapeshifting."

"Wait, I thought it was a natural thing? So, do the Valkyries need to be of a certain power level to manipulate their forms?" I questioned after Raiyen's added answer.
