Info On The Corrupted One

I tilted my head in confusion.

"What do you mean by that?"

"Well, the Arks are entering battle mode with the recent rumor that the Husks are about to return. Centuries ago, the Husks appeared in this world when it should have never occurred. It was during the time that the Congregation reigned supreme in the Mages' world."

"I thought the Husks would appear in any world of this Universe? Why are you saying about it as if it was a calamity that no one could foresee?"

"Thanks to a certain Time Mage in the distant future, the essence of the Corrupted One was scattered across Time and Space. So by right, the Husks can only appear where the Corrupted One has visited, or a Husk is rampaging at the area. But after Mavislin's explanation..."

"I've got a good grip of how the Husks and the Corrupted One ended up here when Earth was created after the Great Noble War. But, before I go on, these are all information that Gillian has shared with me during late-night talks and pipe-smoking."

"Alright, with that out of the way, Gillian mentioned that they had no clue Benjamin was on Earth until the First Wave of Husks appeared. It caught the Congregation off guard since they weren't stable as a fighting group. Thus, they lost quite a several Mages when Benjamin emerged."

"Remember what Mavislin confessed, saying that she was the first to touch down onto Earth after Z and before the emergence of the Congregation. It's a small suspicion, but I suspect that Mavislin's twin might have used the Valkyrie as an anchor to appear on this planet."

"Okay, you've got my attention up until that last part. Are you saying that Lady Mavislin was why the Husks are attacking this world now?" I asked, utterly confused.

"Yes, but not intentionally. At least, I hope so. The Corrupted One can only appear on planets with an instance of Corruption Element in the area to clear things up. Otherwise, Benjamin can't touch down at the place. That Element acts like an anchor for the Mage."

"But in Mavislin's case, well, she is the twin of the Corrupted One, so it would make sense that they are somehow connected. So even if she doesn't show it externally, Mavislin had the same potential to become the Corrupted One as her twin," revealed Tomoe, much to my shock.

Even Vania was confused as she tried fishing for ancient records of the fallen planet of Valokia for evidence to support Tomoe's claims. But no solid information came out since the records of Valokia are too old to be recovered. So only tales can support this claim now.

A history teacher's worst nightmare... Using words of others to back allegations up.

"So... You're telling me that Mavislin could become the Corrupted One instead of her brother?" I quizzed when I saw Vania going through information overload.

Calm down; we still have another task on hand. How about you scan the area around us to see any oncoming threats? To my shock, Vania quickly complied, and the red interface went away.

"You shouldn't use the word 'instead' in that question. Both of the twins have the potential to be the creator of the Corruption Element. The only difference is that Mavislin had better control of the Element than Benjamin. That's why we can't let the twins fight."

"If Mavislin gets exposed and affected by the Corruption Element, the Element within her will surface. One Corrupted Valkyrie is enough for the Universe to handle barely. We can't afford to have another one. And there's a bonus that Mavislin is an expert of Amalgamation of Elements."

"Meaning to say that she can use other elements instead of being Corrupted. Even Gillian can't stand a chance against Mavislin if it escalates to that point. Right now, we are lucky that the Corruption Element in Mav is still dormant," replied a yawning Time Mage.

I nearly felt my heart jump out of my throat when Raiyen started talking. Tomoe rolled his eyes when his Master annoyingly began to partake in our conversation without permission.

"There's a difference between dormant and patient. I am seriously hoping that it is dormant, and the circumstance to trigger such a thing would be challenging since Mavislin has fought against her twin once before. Unless I am wrong about that fact..." I said, trying to swallow my heart.

"Nope, you aren't, but Benjamin was very close to converting Mavislin during the final fight in Urnsfield during the Umbra Mission. If it hadn't been for Baldwin stepping into the fray, I think the world would have fallen ages ago. One wound is all Benjamin needs to change things."

The three of us remained silent before I remembered another question I meant to ask.
