Off Again

"... Please don't wreck my house... It took a whole year to build this little cavern, even if it doesn't look like much... I dug out this part of the tunnel by myself, so I would appreciate it if you don't crash into it," whimpered Sir Velvet, reminding me of someone I knew.

Ah, I forgot! Translation errors.

"I didn't mean to destroy your cozy cavern... What I was suggesting is that I would drop by your place again if I'm ever posted around here. That is, if you don't mind," I explained, clearing up any confusion.

"Oh... If that's what you meant, I would happily accommodate you and your party again. The small boy over there is just the cutest," said Sir Velvet, pointing to Duncan.

Excuse me, what? Are we seeing the same person here?!

And off we went for the next part of our Mission... To finally fight the star attractions of the show, the Five Ducklings. With how the Jörmungandr described Fabian Brookes, I was sure that the wealthy Mage only has his money to talk, not his Magecraft skills.

But the Ducklings are dangerous since Tomoe and I were up against one of them before fighting the sea serpent. If the Black Knight was so mighty, I could hardly imagine how strong are the rest of the Ducklings. I began to worry as Duncan would be facing off an enemy alone.

"Lizzie, your Rho Aias was quite beautiful, and I was wondering how you learned that spell?" asked Tomoe, walking closer to me.

"Uhm... When I absorbed Rina's Flower Dance on the first day, I'd unlocked all the spells relating to the Flower Element. One was Rho Aias, the Ulitmate Defence during the Trojan War. And summoning it didn't use much power, so it is quite a good spell," I answered.

"Also, to add on from earlier, I noticed that your spells have a very similar pattern to the Glorybringers. But I assume it's because you were programmed to be a Glorybringer. Pardon me for peering, but I saw your fight against the Black Knight."

"Your style of fighting and the Knights' combat regime are the same. Not to mention that the spells you use are based on weapons of mythological tales and folklore," elaborated Raiyen, appearing beside me after a glitch.

"What do you mean? All the spells in this realm are based on myths and legends... Right?" I asked, confused.

"Yes, but for the rank of Glorybringers, they only use weapons recorded in folklore. And not all Mages in this world uses items from this world's history or stories. For instance, the High Queen's Original Spell isn't linked to any historical legend but follows gemstones."

"Of course, this fact excludes her Ancient Relic. The same goes for Gillian and Mavislin, who summon spells created from monsters throughout the galaxy to aid in their battles."

Ah... Now I knew why Sir Velvet acted so strangely around me when we first met... He knew I was a Glorybringer and was confused to learn that I was Swordsman Pillar.

"But I must say, despite being new to this world, you are a powerful warrior. Even when pushed to your limits, you didn't care whether you were about to fall to your death so long as you did everything to stop the monster," praised Raiyen, smiling at me.

I was stunned since it was the first time I had seen the Time Mage's genuine smile. Mostly it's a cocky grin or laughing at Tomoe's pain, but this time, it felt different. Like, I had truly impressed the Head of the Vigilante by defeating the Jörmungandr.

I glanced at an alert message from the corner of my vision, worried that the incoming enemy was approaching our location. Luckily, it was only a notification stating that my Bond Level with Raiyen had increased. Not much, but better than having him stabbing my back.

I could tell Tomoe was annoyed that his Master was trying to strike up a conversation with me, but I could feel another daunting gaze from the back... When I craned my neck to see the group behind, I noticed that Bryan looked depressed and left out.

"Thank you, Raiyen. But if it hadn't been for Sir Velvet's Akhilleus Universe or Bryan's Argonauts' Ship, I could never pull off those moves in time against the Storm Beast. My incantations are still too long for a quick-paced battle so that I won't be relying on them too much," I said.

I turned to look at Bryan to give him the biggest smile I could muster so he would continue walking without looking like a suicidal teenager. The Slayer's eyes lit up as if he had seen whiskey as Duncan shot him a questioning look about his behavior. Even the kid is confused!
