A Flashback

"Yes... I thought Mavislin and her twin fought because of the Corruption Element. I didn't know it was because of someone behind the scenes."

"Well, at first, we thought it was the real deal. After the Umbra Mission, Benjamin had shown out of nowhere when our forces were still recovering. The Old Chapel was under fire..."

Raiyen's voice faded out at the end as if he didn't want to continue the story. Instead, the Time Mage pointed to a small cave on the right side of the tunnel, so we decided to unpack there. We still had some fruits and bread, but everyone knew hunger wasn't too rapid for us.

Also, thinking back... Directly after the massive fight against the fake Tiamat, the one to crash into the Old Chapel was Benjamin, but he was disguised as the Old Commander. However, the Old Man Pond never appeared in that chapter or Arc. He only appeared in the Umbra Arc at the time.

But before I could continue my thoughts, Raiyen sat beside me and took out his dagger. Vania may not have sensed any danger, but Bryan was super protective of me when Raiyen pulled out his Ancient Relic, the Time Ripper. It was undoubtedly a work of art.

A knuckleduster has a handle with a curved blade with an image of a clock. The weapon was created to be more of an agility weapon, allowing the user unrestricted movements without losing grip too often. A typical dagger can also be agile, but there's always a chance of losing it.

However, this thing won't be slipping off Raiyen's hand soon.

"Calm down, Slayer Verna. Even if we hated each other, I still couldn't use this weapon against her. It's one of the many rules on these weapons. By right, I can still hurt her, but Mavislin will teleport here and rip my head off from my neck. So I won't choose violence for today."

Hey, what did I do?!

"But once she gets the emblem from Mavislin, I officially can't hurt her since the emblem acts as a Nullifying Spell against all attacks from the Ancient Relic. It's a safety thing to prevent friendly fire, like if one of us gets possessed. But that's besides why I'm taking it out."

Raiyen showed me the odd-looking dagger before abruptly slashing the air before me. Seeing such a weapon cut through the air like a knife through cloth was incredible. The amount revealed a black space, like an opened portal to another realm. It was just so mesmerizing to look at it-

"Halt. If you plant your face in it, you'll get sucked in. That isn't a portal to any realm or place. It's the Void. Once you are in there, there's no way to get you back out in one piece or alive. I've opened this because I want to show you the incident."

"It's not my place to tell you what occurred, so I'll use this method instead. But I won't see it again because it was too painful for me to watch. I have limits for how much sadness I can tolerate for a day."

"Also, you don't have to worry about wasting too much time watching the show since this memory only lasts about 30 to 45 Tocks," explained Raiyen, turning around to back face the Void.

But the Time Boy had a firm grip on my wrist, which I found awkward and uncomfortable.

"Sorry, it's a safety measure if you get too drawn into the show. But, remember, it's just a memory, and you can never change the outcome. So, with that in mind, enjoy," said the Time Mage as the hole became more prominent and the Void morphed into a grassy field.

Out came our main characters; Mavislin and the Corrupted One. And... well, the author wasn't joking when these two are the only siblings in the Universe that can look similar to each other yet so different at the same time. Black against white, girl vs. boy, but they have the same face.

Without any further things, the two leaped at each other at insane speeds, destroying the grass around them as they did. Their clashes were powerful enough to change the landscape, and their rates were unfathomable. I was scared that they might come out into my face.

I shifted my position away from the portal since I was worried debris might come out.

"Don't worry; that event is Time-Locked so that nothing can get in or out."

Alrighty then. I focused back on watching the show. So far, there wasn't much except for some hand-to-hand combat by two Valkyries. But they backed off to the ends of the arena and allowed their Auras to flare up. But then... That's when I saw those chains again!
