The True Valkyrie Comes To Play

"Hang on! I thought you said you don't want to follow Fabian's orders anymore?! So why are you still trying to kill me?!" yelled the Valkyrie as she held her sword close to her chest, ready to defend herself.

"Because it's only the way out! And besides, I am not out of Fabian's reach yet! I may have severed the controls, but he can still see me fighting with you!" shouted Mordred as her hands started shaking with power.

"So you are tasked to fight me... What are his instructions to you?" asked the Valkyrie, standing her ground.

"To kill you."

After blurting out those words, it was as if Mordred lost control of herself as she lunged toward the enemy at lightning-like speeds. The Valkyrie was lucky to have some of Mavislin's quick reflexes as he clashed with the frenzied Knight. But it was still a hard thing to process.

At one point, she was fine, and the next, Mordred was like a mad dog trying to bite an intruder. Her attacks were random, with Mavislin not knowing when Mordred would use her blade or limbs. And it was getting tiring for both parties as Bryan couldn't use Mavislin's powers for too long...

Until the Valkyrie from levels above them decided to take things into her own hands and spoke out. As Bryan awaited for Mordred to strike, the real Mavislin infiltrated his mind by appearing within the Slayer's thoughts, which scared the daylights out of him.

'I hear that the Black Knight isn't the King of Knights as we've discussed... Instead, it's the bastard child of the King, Mordred Pendragon, correct?' echoed Mavislin.

'Yes, Lady Roydon. Uhm... May I ask why and how are you communicating with me in my head?' asked a confused Slayer.

'Your emblem allows me to link directly to your thoughts no matter how far apart we are. I was hoping you could allow me to speak to Mordred using your body and mind. Sorry in advance. And don't worry about me; I've got everything in control up here.'

'Sounds good to me, Lady Roydon. Alright, those reigns are yours,' replied Bryan as Mavislin appeared in front of Mordred.

The Black Knight stepped back as she saw the Valkyrie glowing in ranges of the yellow spectrum. Mordred gripped her sword tightly as she recognized those shining lights and incredible Aura. Mavislin cracked her neck and shook her limbs to get used to her new body.

She then looked around before stopping at her opponent, a twisted and Corrupted version of her old best friend from the Arthurian era. However, the Valkyrie was unwavering as she casually changed her armor into full body armor of gold with purple streaks.

The gauntlets were glowing in golden Elemental Energy while the streaks of purple were sparkling and shifting from light to dark shades. The only things that were missing were Mavislin's backplate and helmet. Without the back piece, Mavislin leaned forward and allowed her wings to blossom.

Mordred watched in awe as Mavislin's wings grew to their full glory of gold with purple hues. Even the Slayer was afraid as he knew what that suit and wings meant... The Valkyrie wasn't playing around anymore. She wanted the battle to end right there and then.

"So you finally decided to show yourself, huh? Mavislin," asked Mordred, emphasizing the Valkyrie's name.

"Mordred Pendragon... The Knight of Rebellion, who had her name ran throughout the continent for crumbling Camelot by inciting a rebellion and killing the Promised King. How far have you fallen, grace, dear friend..." bellowed Mavislin as she slowly opened her eyes.

Mordred tried to put up a brave front by staring into the Valkyrie's golden eyes but failed as she saw her hands quivering at the sight of a being more robust than her. But the Knight of Rebellion quickly shook it off and moved her feet forward to strike Mavislin.

"You don't have any right to call me a friend after what you've done! You left me... You chose to help out your friends within the Mage world. You did it to protect our realm, but I... I can't forgive you for just leaving me like that! A simple explanation or farewell letter would have sufficed!"

"For not telling me your reasons for leaving... I will never forgive you for leaving me behind!" roared Mordred as tears streamed down her cheeks when she charged toward Mavislin.

The Knight let out a roar of anger when she tried to strike Mavislin, only for her blade to be stopped by Mavislin's index finger.

Unfortunately, it was too late for Mordred to realize the power difference between her and her enemy when Mavislin flicked her finger and deflected the sword from Mordred's grasp. With the Knight off-balanced, she was left vulnerable to attacks, but Mavislin chose to do nothing.
