"Hah! Do you seriously think using those two spells would deplete my supply so quickly?! You've severely underestimated me! Scarlet's Oblivion; Seething Rage of the Mountain Emperor!" I shouted as my blade started shaking, and a giant fireball shot out of it, slamming Fabian away.
Once the enemy crushed his back onto the ground, the fireball grew several thick rocks to pin Fabian at his current position. As his skin touched the rocks, purple and black veins invaded his body, inducing the Element of Corruption.
"How do you like it now when the tables have turned against you?" I asked with a sinister grin.
"You have... You are not fit to be in the Arks if you have-"
Before Fabian could continue his sentence, I fired a beam of fire and water from my blade's tip at my opponent's mouth.
"You are not fit to judge me when you have taken and tortured so many poor unfortunate souls! You gave the children hope in their already miserable lives... And you took it away from them. Seeing this happen to those children who had so much ahead of them..."
"Makes me furious!" I thundered as I increased my power within those veins that held the Corruption Element.
Seeing Fabian twisted in agony made me realize that I wasn't so different from Duncan... I then tilted my head to the side and smirked at the man who was suffering and screaming.
"Now you know what Mordred had to go through... Such a great idea for you to bring the Knight of Rebellion back to life using the Corruption Element. Let's see you get your own treatment!" I taunted.
I turned to see Duncan standing still with his eyes closed and his scythe.
"Come forth, O' Lord of Darkness! The embodiment of the World's evil... You shall rise within the depths of this battlefield's filth and despair. War is not heroic, but it is the birth of conflict. Devour it all, O' Whiro-te-tipua! Devour the bodies of the fallen and fuel your power!" chanted Duncan.
I knew the Ankou was also helping out as I could hear two voices from the child standing behind me. I couldn't afford this attack to go to waste, so I charged toward Fabian and stabbed the glowing sword into his chest, ensuring the enemy was not going anywhere.
"First Frame! The Whiro's Plague!" shouted Duncan and the Ankou as they turned the scythe so its blade pointed to Fabian.
The boy then leaped up and stabbed the weapon into Fabian, causing the enemy to cry in pain. I moved my body to the side to give Duncan the opening to finish Fabian. But as I looked back... I think we messed up big time when I saw the man's face turn black to green.
"Now you've done it! You've... You've broken my seal that I tried so hard to... OId Man Pond... Please Forgive me!" begged Fabian as his eyes started going crazy.
His mouth started foaming while his entire body went into seizure mode. But that's when Vania started flashing the giant WARNING symbol with a siren in my head.
"Notice. A huge spike of Dark Elemental Energy has emerged from underneath your location. It is increasing to dangerous levels beyond the Mages' scale. Advice to evacuate now!" ordered Vania as I pushed Duncan away from Fabian.
"What was that for?!" yelled Duncan, annoyed that I took him away from the enemy.
"We have to get out of here, now! This place is going to blow!" I yelled, tugging Duncan by the arm and rushing away from Fabian.
As if it was on cue, the area began to shake as the ground beneath Fabian's shaking body began to open and send cracks all over the land. Then, as I stepped onto a loose rock by accident, the entire hilltop collapsed inwards, revealing a large hole in the earth.
But before I could fall into the dark abyss, the Ankou swiftly scooped me into his arms, leaping from rock to rock to get out of the danger zone. As we reached the bottom, I thanked the Ankou, but he refused to put me down. It was then that I found out what he was staring at.
"That's impossible! Lady Roydon sealed that Beast away during our last clash with the previous Mission's enemy! That thing is supposed to be several layers beneath the earth's crust! How can it be here?! And what's more... Why is it here?!" yelled the Ankou as he hugged me tightly.
My face went pale when I saw what the Ankou was talking about... So the Beast that represented the arrival or passing of an illustrious ruler is hiding beneath this guy's basement?! The chimera of Chinese mythology was one of the Beasts in the Five Phrases, otherwise known as 'Wuxing'.
